Re: Review: Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny (Switch) - A Solid Remaster Of One Of PS2's Best, But Stick To 4:3

BJQ1972

Cutting off the top and bottom of an image on movies shot at 4:3 is a fairly common way to show a film at the intended aspect ratio. The cinematographer composes the image for that purpose - the top and bottom of the image are not "supposed to be seen.

Not sure if that is the intention in this case, but the 4:3 image in the review seems zoomed out, the 16:9 images in most cases look "correct"

Wasn't it always letterboxed? If it was full screen, wouldn't there be more picture above the door, and below the player character? Like a 2.35: 1 movie, with the 4:3 version being zoomed in.

Edit: thinking about it, it is wrong. It's letterboxed, but it should be letterboxed within a 4:3 image - it shouldn't stretch it to fit a 16:9 screen.

@antster1983 no sign of it. Arcade Archives Scramble didn't get released in Europe either - I wondered if it was something to do with them being on the Konami collections, but Gradius and Salamander did get released, even though they were on the collections too.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE the 'unfinished' game is as big as the previous games. The main DLC doesn't launch for a year. I worry about the levels of negativity you show and am concerned there may be an underlying medical cause.
