Re: Nintendo Gets Around to Releasing Inazuma Eleven in UK

BJQ1972

@8. The original delay was because no broadcaster showed the cartoon in the UK, and so there was no awareness of the brand. As Disney XD have picked up the show for the UK we now finally get a release date. Call me pessimistic but I suspect that it still won't sell.

I've seen quite a few comments that this is difficult to get hold of, but I think that Game seem to have acquired most of the UK supply. It is readily available on the high street and online at Game, Gamestation, and Gameplay. 24.99GBP online which for a game of this quality is very good.

I assume they also supply to mainland Europe too.

Re: Irrational Has No Plans for Wii U Games Yet

BJQ1972

@8. I think you are right. IGN have put the question in the wrong place in the article. It certainly looks like he is talking about games like Fruit Ninja - very simple iPad games. He seems to discuss the pros of the WiiU and Vita as being the same - that is being able to play a full console style title with two analogue sticks while sitting in bed etc.

Re: Vigil Games Talks About Wii U Development and Darksiders II

BJQ1972

The problem is with any new console the architecture is pretty much unexplored. They say it is on a par with the XBox 360, but most people seem to forget how poor the first wave of XBox360 games were.

The issue will be ports that run at slightly worse frame rates etc than the other versions, due to unfamiliarity with the hardware. A bandwagon will soon start rolling, as it did for the PS3, that Wii ports are inferior, and I think that it will impossible for Nintendo to recover from it. Soon enough the same situation will return that the only games that sell will be Nintendo's own.

Re: Wii U is Technically 3D-Ready

BJQ1972

Why does it not sound like it is 3D ready out of the box? It would be able to do side by side 3D with no update. Frame sequential 3D may be more of an issue, but if it is on a par with the PS3, power wise, there would be no reason why it can't.

Re: Wii Play: Motion

On the Nintendo UK website it lists the developers as:-

ARZEST Corporation/CHUNSOFT Co., Ltd./Good-Feel Co.,Ltd./, MITCHELL CORPORATION/PROPE,Ltd./SKIP Ltd./VANPOOL,INC.,/NdCUBE Co.,Ltd.

Most of these have a decent track record, so this may be pretty good.

Re: First Impressions: Nintendo Wii U

BJQ1972

No offence to Corbie - I'm a big fan of his reviews and reports - but this report reminds me of a house hunter who can't see the potential of a property they are viewing because they don't like the curtains.

Nintendo consoles have always been about games made by Nintendo, and I have no doubt that they will yet again produce the goods with this.

My only worry is that this console will go the way of the Gamecube - it will start with great 3rd party support but as it becomes obvious that only Nintendo games sell on a Nintendo console then 3rd party support will once again diminish. It won't be helped by the fact that we are supposed to be only half way through the Xbox360/PS3 generation so most WiiU multiformat games will be ports from the Xbox360, and the WiiU will have a much smaller user base.

The announced 'core' games for example will ship around a year after the possibly identical Xbox360/PS3 versions. Who would wait to buy them on WiiU?

Re: Ironclad

BJQ1972

50Hz, very dark graphics and spanish screen text. Have I accidentally downloaded a dodgy ROM off the internet by mistake???!!!

Re: Nintendo Download: 12th March 2010 (Europe)

BJQ1972

@11 Ristar42 Unfortunately although it gives you a pre purchase warning that Ironclad runs at 60Hz the game runs at 576i. As a previous post says the on screen text is almost all in Spanish too.

Also the graphics seem much darker than any of the other VC games I have downloaded, as if the brightness of my TV has turned itself way down - never played the game on NeoGeo though so not sure if this is not the way it's supposed to look.
