The price has only been put up on GAME from what I can see. It might indeed stay that way. But it is more likely that GAME has jumped the gun and thrown their pre order page up as quickly as possible and this is just a place holder price. As in....its not gonna be more then £80, so we will put it up as that and then reduce it when we see what everyone else is doing. I don't see it anywhere on Amazon and Nintendo just seems to let you register.
Third parties will come if they know they can make money. And it seems from what Nintendo have done themselves so far, that the Switch will indeed make plenty of money
Guess this just shows how much space can be saved in building a game around a cartoon aesthetic. Also the game is quite contained. 10 characters, 10 stages etc. It is still very small and good Nintendo is trying its best to keep sizes low
Hopefully this means we wont hear much from them during the E3 Spotlight. Splatoon is Splatoon, show me some new single player and im fine. As for Arms, I think I really have to play it before I know if I want it. They spent a lot of time on it during the last direct and I really didn't care. It just is not in my opinion a fun game to watch, maybe because the behind the character view point does not suit being a spectator
The need more then ARMS Splatoon and Mario for a good E3. people are expecting at least one surprise. If they announce metroid then that will be the OMG moment they need. That moment that gives us all the reaction videos and hashtags that get a company over during E3. They need that buzz. Last year they had one game, but it was Zelda so it dominated. I can't count the amount of times I watched Final Fantasy 7 reveal trailer. Those are the moments that people remember and build hype.
Everyone to their own and I get why they did it. But I really was not a fan of all the garbage they integrated into the OS on 3ds. Badge Arcade, all the Mii stuff and lots of crappy apps, it was all a bit of a mess. I am sure it made them lots of cash but one of the things I enjoy about the Switch is how streamlined it all looks. Obviously that is not too hard with the lack of content at present.
Also really hoping they lay off the ARMS and Splatton stuff. Seen those plenty. They can focus on their details in the treehouse. E3 to me is about new announcements not updates on games that we know are already coming. Although I get u will see some of both. Something original between Splatoon and Mario would be good. There seems to be a good 3 months of a gap there. Monster hunter and metroid announcement would keep me happy. But most importantly I want to hear their plans for the OS and virtual console. I want to use this as my go to device and not also have to have my 3ds or iPad with me . Resident evil 4 virtual console please .
The only thing that worries me is the focus on 2017 bit. I'd like to see at least 1 or 2 mentions of big titles for next yr. even if it is only a graphic.
I get the point, in that they want to make the entry point to the Nintendo family as low as possible leaving the Switch as the premium product, but It seems rather late in the day. The difference between the Switch and the 2ds in power is huge and with the Switch being a handheld too I imagine most people would rather save the extra £150 and buy a Switch. I still have my 3DS but I also have a Switch and see zero reason why I would take 2 portable Nintendo consoles with me anywhere. The 3ds just lives in the draw. Maybe this is just for the under 10s. But I can't see it selling to anyone else apart from those hardcore fans who must own everything
It certainly looks cool with that unibody MacBook esque design. Seems thinner as well. Odd move from a production stand point. Guess this is what those Nes Mini factories are gonna be moving on to
I personally think it will have all the DK Country games. Can't see them putting that many RPGs on there. The big thing I am putting out their however is that i don't think it will have 30 games. I just have this feeling they will reduce it to 25 or something. Just seems like a Nintendo kinda move.
if enough people end up owning a switch then this is a good idea in principle. Take your switch on holiday with the family or camping instead of the actual board game. It would make more sense to release a pack of several games, as I am sure this will end up being massively over priced to negate any bonus achieved by having 1 digital board game.
looks like all the other sonic games really. nice gfx for sure. But the gameplay looks pretty much the same. Sonic's speed was its biggest selling point as a 2d game but still don't think they have got it work in the 3d world.
What I am noticing is that people are liking it's cool tech status. People want one through tech envy. Which bodes well. So basically the console is selling itself regardless of games based on its look, design and the whole I can play in the coffee shop thing. Like the wii did with motion. Where as the Wii U looked and people only brought one for the games. And there were no games for a year
I think this may have something to do with Game originally listing the Switch at £999 - remember when they did their whole placeholder thing. certain banks might be confused by that unusal practice. With the £999 the thing raising the red flag. Just a thought. Or it could be GAME being GAME as usual. Ordered off Amazon for the exact reason that I have zero faith in GAME. hoping they pull through for me
Serious question. Does anyone use a browser on a device like this. I mean if it is required for certain features then sure, but between my laptop, phone etc, I can't see me needing a dedicated browser. Youtube and Netflixs apps sure, but id never really use a browser unless it was requred especially with the battery time being at a premium
Just seen the box art for the combo pack and it looks like it is been sold as a "get Snipperclips for free" with the 2 joy cons. That is just my assertion anyway. It isn't displayed as this pack comes with 2 controllers and the game. It is just a normal joycon box with a small bit or art at the bottom saying "also includes SnipperClips" gives me the impression it is being sold as joycons with game rather then each of the items being weighted evenly in the set......if that makes sense
It's cool. Especially the demo as it is closest thing to a pack in game. But I don't get the extra bundle ???? Isn't the whole point that the Switch itself comes with everything you need for party play ? And that it makes having to buy extra controllers a thing of the past ? I get there is a 4 player mode but it seems a small part of the experience. Seems it would be a better suit as an 'Arms' bundle as that requires 4 Joycons. With this aren't you going to open that pack download the game and then just put the extra controllers to one side. It's a cool promotion and I'm buying the game but just think it goes a bit against the messaging behind the device
Was going to by it on Amazon for a good price. Until Bill Trinen basically confirmed to IGN it is multiplayer only. No practice or challenge mode it seems. No point putting that money down day one for something I wont play until a group of friends come over. i dont generally go to parties where I bring my own games console. As people would think im a dufus. Gonna save the money and get Snipperclips which appears to have some single player element too it
If you imagine that the UK is about the size of 1 large US state then it muddys the waters a bit pre order wise. Seems always more likely to sell out in the US with such a large land area. Obviously they get more units then the UK but it must be a logistically nightmare to accurately predict stock demand in the US compared to here. I am surprised though that UK stock is so easily avilable. Hoping it's down to Nintys production and not weak sales
They are gonna put Pokemon on it.....I don't even like Pokemon but know that will shift units. Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest too. It is all well and good putting Zelda and Metroid out. But its these crazy phenomenon style games where people line up for days that will shift the units. I guess they are combing sales of portable and home now too. Remember the Wii was selling alongside a good portable.
I imagine if you are collecting it for years to come you will still be able to use it docked right ? or using an ac adaptor so that power is constantly hitting the unit. Cant see me taking this thing on the bus in 10 years time, but be nice to plug in every now and then at home etc
Too be honest I'd imagine Nintendo could be contacting devs themselves and saying "hey that Wii U game you had planned, why don't you put it in Switch instead" Don't think Nintendo are that fussed about any work they have to do on Wii U they would rather everything got moved to Switch so they can just shut down their work on the 'U'
Dude comes across well. I think the Indies Nindies will be a big thing for the switch early on. Games on the go that don't drain battery but are a cut above iPhone ipad.
I think the fact that it's gonna soak up 3ds support is huge. Fire emblem, monster hunter square Enix crazy rpgs and above all else Pokemon will come to Switch. Put Pokemon on it and it will sell. You could put pokemon on a toaster and people would buy it (think that's a quote) was very telling that the fire emblem direct revealed 4 new games. 4....when has there ever been 4 fire emblem games being made at once ? And all supposedly with joint international releases. Shows there should be plenty of resources . E3 is huge for them this yr for sure
I'd feel better about it if theye said they were gonna treat it like a platform. U are paying £40 now but in 3 months we will add 10 more games and then maybe some Xmas themed ones over the holidays. I guess I could buy it get my fill and then trade it if it holds its value
Also.....as people have stated ports and third party yearly games like fifa and cod are big parts of 1st year launch plans. Getting titles out there. Just look at Sony and their awful first party output. This yr has lots but before that it's slim pickings. No doubt we will get a new fire emblem. But this idea puts stock on shelves and in the east at least would sell well.
Could kinda see this coming. As it makes so much sense. So wouldn't be surprised. Problem now is people will expect it. So if it does not happen there will be dissipointment.
If you are buying fifa switch it is so you can play full on fifa on the train etc. So gfx on faces and how high resolution the grass is don't matter. But if frostbite is not scalable then the modes that use it like the journey won't port over which is more of a concern. The on the go motive is the real make or break I imagine
Isn't this just the "more stock arriving in December" red sticker that they have next to all the bundles ? If so then I would not get your hopes up as those responsible stocks are all sold out. I ordered mine when they were avilable and currently it says due to dispatch on December 16th....be surprised if they sold them openly before filling out pre orders. Those stickers have been on the page for a month and all sold out anyway. Unless this is something else that I am missing
People play the big EA franchises on PS4 and XBOX One. That is not going to change. I would rather they put a new game on the switch or a game that takes advantage of the social portable aspect. FIFA on the go is cool. Mass Effect on the go makes less sense. Some people would love it but I don't think it would do big numbers. Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warefare fits the bill perfectly. I would not play it but it would probably sell well to the Nintendo demographic
I'm looking fwd to it...in reality I only ever uploaded 2 levels in the main game and I mainly enjoyed the Nintendo made courses the most. What I thought I'd do with Mario Maker and what I actually end up doing were quite different. Having it at arms length at all times for a quick bash is likely to get me to use it more. My Wii U never gets turned on these days and is next to useless. If you look at it from another perspective it is a 2d mario game with 100 levels just no cut scenes or map. I get their server limitations as why spend the extra cash...if it proves a hit then they can always patch this in later . People won't junk their 3ds for a while me thinks. Most Wii us however will get traded on switch launch day
Just a matter of time. The figures are rather cheap compared to the amiibo sculpts and are rigud statues with little play value...mainly though they only apeal to the child market as they have no brand recognition outside of Skylanders itself. Amiibo and Dimensions build upon people's love for nostalgia. How many people brought a ROB Amiibo or Sonic level pack simply to have the figures? Can't say that about Skylanders. There is also mass over situation. Cex is filled with skylanders. Kids move on and as stated adults would be more interested in Lego because of novelty. Nintendo needs to be careful as Amiibo is fast going the same way. It needs to better interweave the toys to the games. I feel lego has the right balance as u are always getting a possable use able toy that lasts beyond the game. They also use the portal as a game platform. It pissed me off how skylanders started from scratch every year...think Microsoft missed a trick with minecraft toys to life tho
I join everyone else in saying that the sale is pointless. These games are all cheaper in physical form and have been for ages. The original idea that digital content meant less costs for developers and cheaper games for consumers has clearly missed Nintendo. Their digital games are crazy expensive for no clear reason
I think its a great game. It is a platform in its own right. I play on the PS4 but have the Wii U version in another room. The price is high but it is lego. Lego is expensive. There was an article in the mirror (i think) that speculated that investing Lego was better then investing in Gold. If you have no interest in the toys then it is expensive DLC but these games are made for the Lego fans. It has been a great way to bring characters into the Lego universe that would never been overlooked otherwise. I wonder if it will get an early port to the switch ?
Do you really want to trust GameSeek with your switch pre-order. They have been around for a while, but with Nintendo's stock track record of new hardware Id rather go with a more established site. Reason being that they will likely have more access to stock. For example I would imagine Game, Amazon, Argos, Tesco the Official Nintendo Store etc will have first dibs on stock. How do Gameseek even know how many consoles they are getting ? They could get 5 or 105 ???? Is this a base model ? do you want the base model ? The Wii U one was useless. You are paying up front so no use changing your mind when that better value £250 SKU gets announced. Id seriously just wait until the details are out. Never ordered from GameSeek and I am sure they are a good company, but it is a lot of money to throw at an image on a website with no solid info
@ThomasBW84 There are actually more Nintendo nominations in other categories that are not mentioned on this video. Xenoblade Chronicles X is up for best RPG for example.....And Zelda BOTW is up for most anticipated. Not sure why they are not mentioned in this video
@therealgamer I Respect Your Opinion Dude. And it would be great for Wii U owners but as a different perspective. I can't see a big game like Pikmin coming to a console that isn't being manufacturerd anymore. Also Diddy Kong racing was a Rare Franchise. A lot of the racters in the original outside the Kongs are owned by Rare/Microsoft. I guess the good thing with Nintendo is that anything 'could' happen
Nintendo genuinely seems to not understand the demand for its retro line up. I don't think it is deliberate stock problems, but instead the usual Nintendo naivety. PEOPLE LOVE THINGS YOU DID IN THE PAST !!!!!! YOU KNOW WHEN NINTENDO WAS THE BEST THING EVER....How can you not understand that.
Most common theory behind no mystery mushrooms is about licensing .. 3rd party companies only maybe signing up to have their games on the Wii U. Nintendo don't wanna pay again for a game this close to the end of the 3ds cycle... same for online...those servers don't come cheap
Wii U hardware was a piece of excretion that could barely run its own operating system
......the software however was in most cases great. I enjoyed miverse and all the classics people have listed above. With the Switch Nintendo needs to have created a system that does justice to the great minds that make games for it. When people say the Wii U is actually a great system. I assume they mean the software on it and not the make up of the actual hardware......day 1 buyer here by the way. I remember the day one 2 hour firmware patch like it was yesterday

Most Wii us however will get traded on switch launch day
Re: Rumour: The Skylanders Franchise Might Be Facing Cancellation
Re: European Wii U and 3DS eShop Cyber Deals Now Confirmed
I join everyone else in saying that the sale is pointless. These games are all cheaper in physical form and have been for ages. The original idea that digital content meant less costs for developers and cheaper games for consumers has clearly missed Nintendo. Their digital games are crazy expensive for no clear reason
Re: Soapbox: In The Wii U's Final Days, Let's Be Thankful For Lego Dimensions
I think its a great game. It is a platform in its own right. I play on the PS4 but have the Wii U version in another room. The price is high but it is lego. Lego is expensive. There was an article in the mirror (i think) that speculated that investing Lego was better then investing in Gold. If you have no interest in the toys then it is expensive DLC but these games are made for the Lego fans. It has been a great way to bring characters into the Lego universe that would never been overlooked otherwise. I wonder if it will get an early port to the switch ?
Re: GameSeek Offers 'Price Guarantee' Nintendo Switch Pre-Order for Just Under £200
Do you really want to trust GameSeek with your switch pre-order.
Re: Nintendo Picks Up Mobile / Handheld Nominations for The Game Awards 2016
@ThomasBW84 There are actually more Nintendo nominations in other categories that are not mentioned on this video. Xenoblade Chronicles X is up for best RPG for example.....And Zelda BOTW is up for most anticipated. Not sure why they are not mentioned in this video
Re: Darksiders: Warmastered Edition Now Coming to Wii U "At a Later Stage", Delaying eShop Release
Over the past 3 years that statement is roughly translated to "it has been cancelled"
Re: Rumour: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Won't Be Ready by March
@therealgamer I Respect Your Opinion Dude. And it would be great for Wii U owners but as a different perspective. I can't see a big game like Pikmin coming to a console that isn't being manufacturerd anymore. Also Diddy Kong racing was a Rare Franchise. A lot of the racters in the original outside the Kongs are owned by Rare/Microsoft. I guess the good thing with Nintendo is that anything 'could' happen
Re: Poll: Retro Delights and Stock Shortages - What Are Your Thoughts on the NES Mini Launch?
Nintendo genuinely seems to not understand the demand for its retro line up. I don't think it is deliberate stock problems, but instead the usual Nintendo naivety. PEOPLE LOVE THINGS YOU DID IN THE PAST !!!!!! YOU KNOW WHEN NINTENDO WAS THE BEST THING EVER....How can you not understand that.
Re: Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS Will Feature amiibo Support
Most common theory behind no mystery mushrooms is about licensing .. 3rd party companies only maybe signing up to have their games on the Wii U. Nintendo don't wanna pay again for a game this close to the end of the 3ds cycle... same for online...those servers don't come cheap
Re: Rumour: Last Wii U Consoles Roll Off The Production Line This Week
Wii U hardware was a piece of excretion that could barely run its own operating system
......the software however was in most cases great. I enjoyed miverse and all the classics people have listed above. With the Switch Nintendo needs to have created a system that does justice to the great minds that make games for it. When people say the Wii U is actually a great system. I assume they mean the software on it and not the make up of the actual hardware......day 1 buyer here by the way. I remember the day one 2 hour firmware patch like it was yesterday
