Re: Netflix's Resident Evil Series Has Been Officially Confirmed, First Details Released

Alpha-2002

...I'm convinced Capcom has a prolific B-movie fetish. That is the only possible reason - aside from, well, money - that this went through.

And don't blame Netflix for this. Constantin is once again in the driver's seat here... meaning that this was gonna be terrible no matter which network picked it up.

Worst of all, doing it right isn't that difficult. Just get the guys behind A Quiet Place and adapt RE2... boom, instant hit.

Re: Random: Brazil's President Keeps Using Sonic Music In His Tweets, And Now The Mario Theme

Alpha-2002

Can't wait for Donnie to join in on the fun by putting Doom music over the construction of his stupid wall. (/s)

In all seriousness, this is merely a distraction - not just from Bolsonario's policies, but also from from Brazil's... nonexistent management of the coronavirus. Judging by how people say this has reached international news sites... I think it's working.

(Also, the companies involved should sue the government for copyright infrigement.)

Re: Video: Ben 10: Power Trip Gets Its First Gameplay Trailer

@Anti-Matter What makes this game - a cheap, licensed tie-in - better than Zelda: BOTW, Sonic Mania, Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy, Undertale, Pokémon Sword/Shield, Super Mario Odyssey, Celeste, or many other fine games suitable for all ages... many of which have a lot more effort and love put into them?

If you still want to buy it, then by all means go ahead. I'm just saying that there are much better options on Switch which still eschew the blood and gore found in many AAA titles nowadays.

Re: Video: Ben 10: Power Trip Gets Its First Gameplay Trailer

Good to see OutRight is keeping that infamous LJN bloodline of licensed crap alive and well as we move into the 2020s.

But seriously... this looks horrible. Are we POSITIVE someone good like Capcom wasn't available for this? Even their worst would look a lot better than this.

Re: GoldenEye 25 Shuts Down After Cease And Desist From 007 IP Holder

Alpha-2002

Well, at least years upon years of effort weren't washed down the drain with this one.

But seriously... why? MGM isn't gonna be releasing a 007 game anytime soon and I don't think No Time to Die is making it for November.

One would think that MGM would wish to work out a deal where, in exchange for publishing rights, this gets an official release on Steam at the very least.

It'd do great business for the brand, the game comes out sooner with solid financial backing, and we get to relive the N64 era in style.

Makes the most sense, really... shame they went for a C&D instead.

Re: Paramount Locks In 2022 Release Date For Sonic The Hedgehog's Movie Sequel

Alpha-2002

@TG16_IS_BAE Why? Because the first one didn't meet your expectations? (It's loads better than what the hacks at Sonic Team could've come up with.) Because the fanbase is full of creeps and weirdos? (Mainly because... most fanbases are?) Or because you don't view it as "artsy" enough for the big screen? (Neither is Star Wars, when you think about... it's just cowboys v. Nazis IN SPACE!)

Re: Paramount Locks In 2022 Release Date For Sonic The Hedgehog's Movie Sequel

Alpha-2002

Seems too fast, IMO. Holiday 2022 would be the better pick - not only would it give the cast and crew some breathing room, BUT they'd have the time to give Sonic's world the proper, big-screen effort it deserves.

(Or at the very least have more and/or more impressive action scenes. For a movie from the guys behind F&F about one of gaming's most infamous action games... there was surprisingly little action in this last one.)

Re: Phil Spencer Shuts Down Idea Of Xbox Game Pass Coming To Other Platforms

Alpha-2002

As much as I want xCloud/Game Pass to come to Switch, I can see why it's not. These are MS's two big trump cards going into next gen... and handing them out willy-nilly to competitors could prove to be utterly disastrous.

Like, if they come to Switch, Sony fans would want it too - and, at that point, there'd be no incentive to actually buy an Xbox. And I don't think Microsoft would take too kindly to another Xbone-style catastrophe in sales...

Re: WayForward's New Switch Game Is Bakugan Champions Of Vestroia, Coming In November

Alpha-2002

@Entrr_username Yeah, "salt much."

I was expecting something good in the platformer genre, like a new Sonic Advance or Mega Man - maybe even a new Castlevania.

Those would've been cool and unique announcements. THOSE would've been good picks to announce.

Instead, we get a lame 3D ARPG based off a niche franchise that most assumed was long since dead... if they even knew it existed at all, that is.

Re: The ESA Reminds Us That E3 Will Return

Alpha-2002

Hope it does and hope Sony comes back too... not just because SGF is awful (although it is ), but because of the history behind it.

This was an event that united the industry, introduced new players in style AND has great fan moments to boot. Even if it's dying for good, we might as well give it one hell of a sendoff... as such a historic event deserves nothing less.
