Re: Jump Force Deluxe Edition Brings Goku, Naruto And More To Nintendo Switch

Alpha-2002

Christ, there are frame drops in the trailer. I knew this was a trainwreck before... but, good God, I thought it at least ran well.

And it's in Unreal, for crying out loud! If Fortnite can run well on UE4, what's Bamco's excuse here?

...Yeah, no. I'd pass on this thing even if I was the biggest weeaboo this side of the Pacific, if it came with a free console AND if the game itself was free.

Re: Controversial "Adults Only" Murder Simulator Hatred Is Coming To Nintendo Switch

Alpha-2002

For anyone wondering why this is a murder simulator and something like Halo or Doom isn't: Those games give context to the violence (and have other things, like great music, that makes them worthy of the purchase). This, on the other hand, is just the violence itself.

No attempt is made to give "The Antagonist" any sort of moral justification for his actions. You just kill, stab, burn, pillage... I've seen playthroughs online and it's just as grim as you think it is.

Happily, the above (and the fact that, if you're good, you're nigh unstoppable) also makes the game impossible to take seriously and it's lone selling point - the violence - is rather tame when compared with fatalities (already here), Glory Kills (also already here), or even No Russian (...probably coming soon).

So yeah, it's coming and yeah, it'll piss people off. But - if I'm honest - I'd much rather have other "murder simulators" because they at least try to make an effort - unlike this garbage, which is shock value at its worst.

Re: Xbox's Phil Spencer Has "A Ton Of Respect" For Nintendo, But Is Over Rumours About Select Titles Coming To Switch

Alpha-2002

@Heavyarms55 Bit late, but right on the money. For all we know, Rare wanted to remake an older Zelda for Series X and Nintendo said no - thus creating Everwild.

And I do wish the relationship would continue. Yeah yeah, the box matters... but, oh, I would do nearly anything to get a legit Halo port on the Switch.

I mean come on! Five outta the six games in the MCC are from the 360 days - and the only one that isn't, 2 Anniversary, was based off an original Xbox title. And considering that the Switch can run the goddamn Witcher 3, I fail to see how a port of old popular titles could do MS any harm.

It would introduced Nintendo-only gamers to a globally-adored franchise that's a part of gaming history... and one with a brand new game out at Christmas that, you guessed it, is only on Xbox and Windows.

More (old) ports equals more fans. More fans equals more people invested in John's story. More people invested in John's story equals more sales of Halo Infinite and - by extension - more Xboxes sold at Christmas (or whenever Infinite launches at this point).

It's a win-win for us all and, for a company of Microsoft's size, it wouldn't take much. C'mon Phil - let us Nintendo fans finish this fight.
