Have zero interest in cloud gaming. The only "always online" gaming I will willingly play are MMO's. Also I already actively try to avoid using as many google products when possible, no way would I ever touch a gaming service by them.
One thing about Switches being more expensive here in Canada... If you collect PC optimum points buy your Switch or games from a Shoppers Drug Mart. Gave money to my dad to buy on seniors discount day, and in the end paid about $140CDN for my Switch, minus the seniors discount and points I used. Not to mention the occasional special points day (ie spend 200,000 points = $300 off).
@KillTheG1mp I've never in my entire life seen the "$" AFTER the price here in Canada. It's always $399, never 399$, unless they do it in Quebec that way.
Out of the ones listed in the poll? Tomb Raider even though I own all but the most recent on PC. Picked up MGSV recently on PS4 and just not a fan. Sims 4 (or sims in general) I prefer on PC do to mods.
Only "upgrade" I need for my Switch is better joycons. 4k gaming is still niche, the switch as is still isnt even a 1080 gaming machine and 1080 in handheld will be even worse on battery life. I swear at the rate consoles are going, I'd have to upgrade my pc far less than any console.
He didn't even say anything bad? As matter of fact he is right about at least one thing. I'm sure plenty of devs get badgered constantly for multiple things to be added, and after a certain point I'm sure it becomes annoying.
I take more issue with Able Gamers. They tend to take the smallest of comments or issues and makes them something bigger. Another one of those organizations with noble intentions, but obnoxious people behind it.
This from the same country that has a commercial that puts a black man in a washing machine and comes out Chinese man. Then again, for the past 5 years everything is considered racist now (unless against a certain race, then racism is ok). But all is ok, thanks to a certain virus, China is currently the only booming country financially, so they say jump, we say how high now.
How is it "snobbish" for people to expect a game to have consistent fps (whether at 30 or 60) when a game is made specifically for a single system. It's not like this is a game on multiple platforms or has to take into account multiple PC setups. It shouldn't have been hard to keep it at 30 without drops.
Oh and yes, some people do get motion sickness with low fps...but lets just call them snobs and clowns and act like we're better🙄
With so many uninspired AAA games lately and for the past while, shady moves by publishers (this being one of them), I'm just happy I have such a massive backlog of unplayed games on my PC still. The way the gaming industry has been going, they've actually been saving me a lot of money by simply not buying games anymore (well, with the exception of old classics on GOG)
Also how are people comparing a subscription service like Netflix, where it's less than $15/month for hundreds of movies or tv shows...to paying for a SINGLE game like this? Compare Netflix to Game Pass or EA's service, where you are getting MULTIPLE games for your monthly subscription.
I'll hold off until Epic gives it away for free. Nice to see Ubi try something different (for them), but like all their games, still looks too generic.
Wonder how the "better Switch sales" for this game factor in EGS? Had this on my Steam and GoG wishlist before realizing I owned it on Epic when they gave it away for free.
@the_beaver Why wouldn't I refund a game that I didn't enjoy? Otherwise it would be $35 wasted as I would never touch it again. Also far from a "pokemon fan", only the Switch game have I played, never touched the dlc yet and since ACNH was released haven't played anything else on my switch. Also I could just as easily call you a blind temtem fan.
@the_beaver I don't have interest in the Switch version of this game, IMO just get pokemon for the Switch instead. For a PC-type pokemon game it just wasn't good and certainly wasn't fun, and yes I am well aware it's in very early EA since I bought it in the first week. I still didn't enjoy it at all.
@Crockin You mention the carbon footprint, you should see the environmental disaster caused by Apple then when mining for material for iPhones. Also I'm pretty sure none of what you mention had to do with the persons original point of people spending money on trashy mobile games.
Apparently lots of people who bought physical copies have been returning their copies, wonder how that will factor in. I enjoyed the first TLOU game, but passed on this one and watched Dansgaming play it. Second half got so bad he took a day or two break. Really sad as graphically it's absolutely amazing and I enjoy ND's game play....but that story. ugggh.
Maybe people can stop defending multi billion dollar corporations and Nintendo (and Sony) can get with the times and come up with a fair refund policy. This is why I still prefer and end up buying more games on PC. Steam, GoG and even the "bad guys" EA all have fair refund policies.
@johnvboy I do agree nfc stickers are the best way to get the villagers you want (wish I knew about them before buying a bunch of amiibos). However, Raymond, Audie and that sparkly eyed cub don't have their own amiibos yet, so you can't get them through tagmo
If somone is willing to part with their own money for a villager, I really don't care. Saw Raymond going for $100 on ebay PLUS charging $20 for shipping. I followed the listing and it had 3 bids on it on the final day, with an account with zero feedback being the only bidder, which makes me think the seller was trying to fake interest in it.
Anyway, I honestly do not see the appeal of a lot of these popular villagers (personally). After a villager left I challenged myself to get a non-amiibo villager within 25 nmt and got Audie on 24. Had her move in, then move out right away. Gave her away for 10 pears. Because a deal for her fell through, I offered the person who originally wanted her any choice of an amiibo villager (since I use nfc stickers now). He wanted Marshal. So I've had Marshal for the past 3 days while he waits for a villager to leave and I don't get it. He is utterly basic and boring, and I hate saying that as I love squirrels.
Btw, if you like Marshal, Raymond or any of the popular ones. I'm happy for you and hope you enjoy them or get them in the future. Just saying I don't get the appeal of them one bit, especially to the point of paying real world money.
NL was my first AC game and tbh I only played it for about 15-20 hours, never got into it all that much. Was actually going to pass on NH entirely but I have over 300 hours in NH and absolutely love it.
"Keep politics out of games"...Yes I agree. Devs should keep politics out of games. As for people playing the games they bought? Feel free to do as you please. Want to make your island a capitalist, communist or fascist one in AC? Do as you please. The fact people put the blame at those in HK over the communist Chinese government is baffling.
@Noid You will feel different when people view what YOU say to be hatred and propaganda and then you get censored. Censorship of ANY kind is awful.
People are too use to westerners who hide what they want to say, and simply say what others WANT to hear. Slavs especially are very blunt in letting you know things. Doesn't make them a pr*ck or rude. My gf is Bosnian and still lives there. I had to adapt quick to how blunt she can be....and I'm part Croatian/Polish (born/raised in the west however).
I really don't get the pokemon fans who actually seem bitter that a little indie game is getting more praise. The devs are listening to the community unlike game freaks. It's in early access so it won't be perfect, but by majority so far, it's still better than S&S. I for one am glad temtem exists as it might just be the kick in the rear game freaks needs, especially seeing as this will be on all platforms.
I am more than fine with my current Switch. IF however they make a new console that will have exclusives for it, I will avoid buying anything Nintendo again. Also what do people do with their controllers that they need to be replaced yearly?
I already own this game on PS4 and PC, and owned it on Xbox, and with all the new Switch games coming out this year I think I'll hold off. Still, tempting to play Witcher in handheld mode
I'll never understand people and their bigoted identity politics. "White straight men". Stop assuming anyone who isn't interested in this game is white, or even straight or homophobic. LGBT is all about diversity, which includes diversity of thought. Not every gay or bi person will buy into a game like this.
I don't know of a single animal rights person who cares for PETA anymore. After everything that was exposed with them, they are pretty much the Westboro of animal rights. Loud, crazy but irreverent
I will only get SMM2. Spent too much on games, but Mutant Year Zero I've put off getting on PC so I am tempted to get it for the Switch to fill my Xcom void. Also Slay the Spire was a super fun game and I sunk more time into that then I ever expected
First played it on the PS4, eventually buying it for my (non-gaming PC). Sunk so many hours into then, but when I eventually got a gaming rig I put even more hours into Minecraft. It was one of the first games I picked up when I got my Switch, although I will admit I don't like it as much as I thought I would on the small screen.
I think the email I got said it would be about $132CDN, since you need NSO which is $25CDN it amounts to a $3 saving pretty much on $80 games. Hardly worth it, but I prefer physical when possible.
Doesn't really amount to that big of a savings after adding the cost of the subscription into things. Large/AAA games I prefer to buy physical also. Still no reason for me to sub to online
Picked this up on PC last year when the devs were giving half of the proceeds to a mental health charity and was on the fence at the time about the game. While the game took me 9 hours to complete (not taking my time, nor rushing through) it was well worth it. It reminded me why I actually prefer shorter linear games like this over open world games I never finish or return to ever.
Meh, quality of Disney has really gone downhill over the past few years, it's worth it more for the classics if anything. Even still I have no interest in tossing Disney my money...then again I doubt this will be in my country since Hulu still isn't.
