I got my Switch about a month ago and I'm more than happy with it. I've hardly even touched Zelda or Mario Odyssey but already have 30 hours into Octopath Traveler. Right now the only thing I feel like I am lacking on the Switch is Fire Emblems. I wish they ported Awakening or another FE game over while we wait for the new one (not warriors)
I'd rather have fewer choices that are all good quality than something similar to Steam. I feel like I'm maxed out on Steam with games, as the rest are just awful asset flips
I was going to pass on this game but after hearing all the praise I gave the demo a second try. Fell in love and went to the Walmart down the street and they only had 2 copies left (apparently they had over 10). That was less than a day after release. It's easily become my fav Switch game
I might have to revisit these as I know they are widely praised. I have the first two on PC and enjoyed the first one quite a bit.....until the final boss fight. I hated that final fight so much I never even touched the second game yet. Maybe I'll wait for all 3 to be released together one day for the Switch
@AlternateButtons Just to update, I purchased the game this morning, have been playing it for 2 hours straight now. Well worth it and once you understand the mechanics of fighting (which turned out to not be overly complicated as I first thought) it becomes quite fun
I was really one the fence about Octopath since it's $90CDN (with tax) but I just got back from the store and will be playing that for the next little while
If it's going to be a Fallout, it definitely will NOT be FO4. FO3/NV perhaps. Sadly the side scrolling AC games I think are the best fit for the Switch. Subnautica would be amazing on the switch, esp with the motion controls. I'd love to see Xcom ported. I need my xcom-like turned based game fix
This doesn't bother me tbh. I've been playing it non-stop and quite enjoying the vanilla experience. When I get bored with vanilla, I just fire up my pc where I have hundred+ mods
Most of my 3DS games I purchased preowned, but I've struggled to find any Switch games preowned. The local game store I got most of my 3DS games only has 4 Switch titles. EB games had one (Mario & Rabbids, which I did buy).
When buying online take the time to research WHO you are buying from. If on eBay, look at feedback. Same with Amazon.
I'm really on the fence about NSO. Since getting a Switch I have to admit Fortnite has become a bit of a guilty pleasure (something I could not get into on PC). So $25/year isn't too bad. Otherwise I don't play online or multiplayer games so it seems like a waste for me
I dont play online so NSO just isn't worth it for me, even at $20/year. Too bad as there are old games I would have purchased for it, otherwise I highly dislike subscription based services, and despise how many gaming companies are trying to go this way "Games as a service"
Sorry I prefer the option to BUY each game I want. Not sure why Nintendo doesn't want this either since they are getting more of my money. On my 2DSxl I spent about $40CDN on like 4 or 5 VC games ($15 on earthbound alone). I didn't mind spending that since I know as long as I have my 2ds I have those games. Guess I'll just use my 2ds for NES/SNES games and an emulator on my computer for N64. Really tired of companies trying to push this "games as a service bs"

Re: Octopath Traveler Smashes Its Way To Number One In Japan By A Huge Margin
Easily one of the best games I've played. 22 hours in and I am just getting my final character in the party, then onto chapter 2
Re: Guide: Octopath Traveler Beginner's FAQ - Best Character, Breaks & Boosts, And Path Actions Explained
I started with H'aanit, I'm 20 hours in and currently have 6 characters on my party. I almost passed on this game but wow, I can't stop playing it

Re: Deals: Amazon Prime Day Is About To Kick Off In The US, More Nintendo Switch Bargains On The Way?
I have a few games wish listed so I'm hoping Amazon Canada has some sales! Otherwise Octopath has my full attention

Re: Review: Octopath Traveler (Switch)
I haven't had the chance to play the demo, but would this be worth buying for a more 'casual' player who enjoys rpg's? I heard combat can be brutal

I've been wondering for a few years now when google would get into gaming like this, but you completely lost me at "streaming".

For my PC I have no issue at all with all digital. For my Switch, 3DS or PS4 I will ALWAYS favour physical media
