@Zach777 Wow, so insulting after your fake apology. It was a spoiler. Why do you think your comment was deleted? Don't you think the whole point of the storyline in that game was finding out what you spoiled? Don't you think I already knew that it was a possibility since it was a MASSIVE plot point? Don't you think I was possibly invested in the idea that what you spoiled might not have happened? Jeez, man. You're so rude. Stop replying to me.
I'm glad to see the vitriol for LRG finally start to die down on this site. I know people were burned by them over the years but I think far more people have gotten exactly what they paid for than people who experienced issues would like anyone to believe. I've gone on record saying they're pretty decent & try to make up for their mistakes, if possible. Without discounting those who truly had an issue with LRG at some point (RIP Scott Pilgrim collectors edition buyers), I think most of the haters over the years were just people too embarrassed to admit they didn't read how long the shipping was supposed to be.
@Poco_Lypso Not full price. Not trying to convince you to not wait for a sale, I do all the time. But this is definitely a reduced price, I think Kiwami was $30 or $40 when it first dropped. $20 reflects that it's an older game & I personally feel it's a great price.
@Fighting_Game_Loser No it isn't. Very well known UE3 based game. Just look it up, dude lol. Mortal Kombat 1 is the UE4 NetherRealm game. Why would you keep arguing if you didn't even know
Seriously did not like this game, I gave it an hour or two but the writing is pretty bad. I have my limits for silliness & every moment of this game had me rolling my eyes. Plus I thought it was insane that a text heavy game has no auto scroll for the talking.. & it was honestly lacking for what was & wasn't given actual voice acting.
@Lightsiyd Sony has done a few things over the years to pointlessly censor specifically Japanese games for some reason, but I don't think they've exactly ever taken an "anti-sexual content" stance. Several dating sim type games release for modern Playstation, such as the recently-announced Superscout. The Mature rating in general isn't new for Sony, couple of their biggest IPs are M such as TLOU & God of War.
@Fighting_Game_Loser I don't think that's accurate, pretty sure several UE3 games have been ported. The only example I can think of is Mortal Kombat 11 at the moment but there's definitely others
@Lightsiyd Just look up a trailer. @Liam_Doolan linked the season 4 dlc trailer, not one for the base game. Plus it hasn't been officially announced yet so there isn't any Switch gameplay. But if you haven't seen the game at all, there's plenty of footage out there
Looks promising but I was pretty bummed out by 5. I think I'll wait to hear some impressions first but it looks like an interesting direction they're taking
@EVIL-C Thank you for having a reasonable response, sorry I admittedly came in sounding a bit hot tempered. You're also right that the same BS happens with scalpers but you have to see that the current method is still an improvement over things selling out in literal minutes after going up for purchase, right? Now we get weeks to secure a pre-order. I really don't think these guys deserve the hate they get, that's all. I know in the past there were serious problems with transparency about the extras included or the shipping for certain games, but like I said, they've seemed to be slowly improving with certain things that they have been heavily criticized for. I know people liked the indie vibes of having a limited numbered physical release from small dev teams but I still greatly prefer the current LRG to the old one.
@EVIL-C I literally never did any "name-calling" lol. I think I'm fully allowed to have a different opinion than you & so I thought your comment sounded kind of extreme. The idea that somebody could think LRG was anything like they used to be when they first started was silly (not you as a person), was simply my misunderstanding of your "irony" as you called it.
I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan, so I didn't know Disney had in 2021 started relicensing the remastered stuff & new games under Lucasfilm, that's totally my bad.
I don't really see any problem whatsoever about LRG growing as a company, I'm sorry you & apparently a lot of people don't like it, but I'm gonna be honest what we have now is impossibly better than fighting bots for actual limited quantities. That garbage was so exhausting & nobody will convince me that was better than modern LRG.
Also don't see the problem publishing obscure games, it's cool that they have the money to do stuff like that even if it's not "financially viable" or whatever. I'm fully aware of the controversies over the years, it sucks problems keep happening but to my knowledge don't they usually still try to make up for their mistakes?
I like buying video games & I guess consumerism ruined me, so if there's a video game I'm interested in, I'll buy it if I can afford to. Games are kinda my favorite thing so it's basically the only thing I spend money on other than bills & food. Yeah I heard about the 3DO thing, that's lame. I guess I've gotten lucky, I've never been surprised by the products I've bought & it usually always took the amount of time it was supposed to for production & shipping. I can remember a few times it would be delayed by a month or two, but when it was happening I usually didn't even realize it was late because it'd been like 6 or 8 months of waiting already.
Also it seems like the hate for these "bigger games" should be directed at the original publishers rather than LRG, I don't see how they could be faulted for taking money from people like Sega, Bethesda (Microsoft?), or EA. If they won't publish the game themselves, why does it matter that LRG did it for them lol. If your problem is that they choose to associate with these companies at all, then I have nothing else to add because that seems like a different conversation altogether.
I can understand the people who got burned & don't want that to happen again but I've had a mostly pleasant experience with LRG over the years, so I'm honestly still shocked every time I see people speak about them so harshly. Perhaps it's deserved but I don't mind supporting them as long as they keep improving
@EVIL-C I don't think Disney has ever used LRG lol. I'd ask you to explain yourself, but based on the lunacy of your statement I doubt I'll get a reasonable response. It doesn't make a bunch of sense to call LRG an indie publisher at this point either, it doesn't really make a difference. They've published AAA games several times so insisting that they're indie is just silly
@Teksetter @TyroKith Hard to say, I'm also curious as to the real answer. While the marketing clearly has remastered in the title, the screenshots it has are definitely from the non-remastered version. Also the description doesn't say anything different from the features the switch version had. It's starting to feel less like we'll be pleasantly surprised & more like somebody effed up thinking the switch version was also the remastered version.
Edit: To be fair, the PC version does not have the remastered logo & supports 1080p, so who knows
@tseliot What are you talking about? This happens all the time, especially for indie games. There's many many many examples of games releasing digitally before releasing physically. For smaller studios this sort of thing really depends on how much of an audience you have so you don't waste thousands of dollars making copies of a game that might not sell well.
This game isn't "rated 'E' for everyone", it actually received an 'E10+' rating. A distinct difference since it's the rating in-between 'E' & 'T'. I was shocked that a game could have a descriptor like that & still be given that rating.
I had fun with this game but I'm glad it's finally over. Excited to see what actual new things these people can make in the future, I'll be extremely disappointed if this just means they're gonna do Dead Cells 2 lol.
I think this is the first Splatfest for 3 that I somehow completely missed even hearing about. Whoops. It's always so hilarious to me seeing the babies who need enormous amounts of copium to try to handle that their team lost. Touch grass, y'all. It's just a game.
@DTfearTheBEARD Actually the switch version runs a bit better than the 360 version, iirc. At least according to the digital foundry breakdown vid. Lol but if you wanna play it on PS5, maybe a snappier frame rate would feel more to your standards.
@axelhander Wtf are you talking about. Having the button remapping on the switch itself is exactly what you're crying for. Having to go into each individual game you play for the settings is much more work, right? Lmao, you're such a troll xD please don't respond to me again unless you put some actual thought into your comment.
@PinderSchloss Stranger Things doesn't own the style of the 80s. Also this series was making games 4 years before that game came out. They're not even the same genre lmao
@NorthwestEagle I know this is a popular site for people to cry about lrg, but this is just complete slander lmao. They've never censored any game releases
@-wc- Rugrats wasn't even close to SpongeBob. Plus there's been several other more popular things from the channel over the years, if I'm not mistaken. I will give you that it had a good run lol but it's pretty random that there's a new game. I wasn't even aware of the reboot of the series until moments ago.
All these "only a port" comments. If it's so easy why isn't every game available all the time on every single current console? The answer is simple: porting is not easy. Just because it's USUALLY more difficult to develop a new game from scratch in general, does NOT mean it's just easy as a button click & a nod from Nintendo & Rockstar. Please get it through your heads. Ports are not as simple as you think.
@PinderSchloss What's with that second paragraph, homeskillet? Why couldn't you just say "Cause I was excited to play it as a Zelda fan." Amongst some of these other comments, I presented my question in a reasonable manner. Seemed pretty rude to say "I don't have to explain to anyone" to then immediately half assed give your justification. You didn't owe me a response, but I was being genuine with my comment. Oh, but don't let me ruin the hugfest or whatever.
@PinderSchloss While I'm considering wanting to discuss a few things in regards to your thoughts on this game, more than anything I want to know why you'd play SO much of a game that you clearly aren't enjoying?
