Re: Dispatch Dev AdHoc Responds To Nintendo's Statement, Says It Intends To Address Censored Switch Content

yohn777

I think this is a sad desperate attempt to say "no it wasn't our fault". How can it be CERO's fault for all versions of this game on switch to be censored? No matter how you slice it, it doesn't make sense. They didn't want to delay the release to make a CERO version so they just censored all of them to get it out the door on time & now they're doing damage control. I'm willing to believe it's possibly Nintendo's fault but it just seems like Adhoc was being lazy. I hate this.

Re: Video: Nintendo Highlights Enhanced Switch Games On Switch 2

yohn777

@Dang_69 Please let your reading comprehension help you understand that your words added nothing of value to this exchange. It's a website where people talk about Nintendo sh*t, we're all talking Nintendo here but jfc use context clues next time. Obviously that comment had little to do with the topic but their point is still somewhat relevant & a valid opinion. Your reply to his you acted like he said something ludicrous but it's pretty normal for pretty much any article on here.. he wants more original games & there are Nintendo studios that are literally updating these old games to add features instead of working on new games. There's a decent chance the effort to do so isn't that difficult but considering how long it takes for new first party games these days, it's understandable to have contempt for something like this.

Re: Review: Blippo+ (Switch) - An Uncanny Channel-Surfing Sim That Perfectly Captures '90s TV

yohn777

@Elektrogeist1287 Why? You literally said 'why buy this if you can’t “play it”', when talking about video games. I gave an example of books that you don't "read". There's several games where you don't "play" anything, I personally think there's many examples of video game media where you don't have really any gameplay that are fantastic. If it doesn't speak to you, that's totally fine, but it feels like you're being willfully obtuse about understanding how someone could bring themselves to enjoy something like that.

Re: Review: Blippo+ (Switch) - An Uncanny Channel-Surfing Sim That Perfectly Captures '90s TV

yohn777

@Elektrogeist1287 Why would anyone buy a book that you don't actually read? Oh wait literally thousands of people do that, they're called audiobooks. Nothing wrong with people who enjoy unique media experiences, it's not insane just because it's not streaming on Netflix or whatever lol. Legitimately cannot tell if you're just trolling or not. Just because it doesn't interest you doesn't mean anything. You're a drop in the ocean.

Re: Terminator 2D: No Fate Has Been Delayed On All Consoles

yohn777

It seemed like this game was going to be $60 for a long time, but I finally saw today that digitally it's actually only going to be $30. Much more reasonable & I will keep an eye on it again, an extra $30 for the physical edition with a poster & collectible coin isn't worth it to me.

Re: Aardman Flocks Onto Switch This Fall With A Chicken Run Heist Game

yohn777

@LavaTwilight That's... pretty bad, objectively. Mindseye was considered one of the worst games to release this year & it has like a 5/10 on steam, 38 on metacritic. Outright games gets a ridiculous amount of licensed stuff for being dirt cheap & leaving development duties on unknown indie or mobile game teams. They pump out like 10 games a year & while I'll agree that none are necessarily abysmal (not that I've played a huge portion of them), it's clear that they have little interest in making a game for any other reason than to entertain a child that had parents buy it for them because it's SpongeBob or Paw Patrol or something

Re: The Hundred Line Director Has Already Announced A Brand New Game

yohn777

@BirdoDidNothingWrong No, it's likely Hundred Line just needs to succeed in the publishers eyes (Aniplex & XSeed) before his studio could consider any ports. A new game announcement with a new publisher doesn't exactly imply that he was being underhanded. Totally possible you're right & I'm wrong but I'm unsure how that would greatly benefit him in the long run

Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Has Been Rated For Switch 2

yohn777

@roy130390 Sorry for the late reply, didn't see your response until recently. I thought I touched a nerve since you weirdly repeated more than once my wordage about the people who insist on bringing up the "balance", as if the developers aren't even aware of the parameters of their own game. Also the fact that you called me self absorbed when all I did was tell you the truth.
I literally said in my first response the game can be criticized, you're free to be critical of it. But pretending like you know better is insane! Like actually insane. How many games have you programmed?
Implying that me trying to deescalate a conversation would be desperate is also insane. I hope you take some time to reflect & not get so worked up when talking to people online. Hope you have a great day.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Intended To Continue Bayonetta With Another Trilogy

yohn777

@KITG_GROUP I think Bayonetta would need to be much more profitable for Sega to consider more sequels, Nintendo is basically the only reason 2 & 3 exist. Hopefully eventually they'll at least port those to other consoles & they also sell well, so that it's at least within the realm of possibility. It might be due to poor marketing but the remaster of Bayonetta 1 bundled with Vanquish on Xbox & PS4 didn't even manage to sell 100,000 units, so even with an easy win like remastering Bayonetta 2 & 3 to modern consoles I'm not sure if Sega is willing to put in the effort.

Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Has Been Rated For Switch 2

yohn777

@roy130390 What do you think it means when people cry about a game being "broken"? That means it's unbalanced. If you make a video game, you can literally do whatever you want, including making said game unbalanced. Ever heard of kaizo Mario? You can think whatever you want man, clearly I touched a nerve let's agree to disagree lol.

Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Has Been Rated For Switch 2

yohn777

@roy130390 I think there's nothing wrong with these games & if you were looking at the Tenkaichi games as if they were intended to be balanced, then you're flat out wrong. Not every multiplayer game needs to play the same. The games can be criticized if you don't like it but people who never shut up about how unbalanced it is are really annoying. It's just a 3D anime brawler like jump stars versus, it's not meant to be played like a legit fighting game. The game isn't "problematic" just because it doesn't work the way you want it to. Nobody is making you play the game online (or at all), but they give people the option since it's nice to have options. My advice would be if you're looking for a fighting game with balanced & well thought out mechanics just play FighterZ like a normal person.

Re: Stardew Valley Creator Doesn't Want To 'Close The Book' On Its Development

yohn777

@Yosti The only way you got BOTW "complete on cartridge" is if you bought the JP, KR, or CN version with the dlc included. If you do have one of those copies, nice. If not then you technically don't have a complete physical copy.
There's no problem with how people like their games lol but it's still interesting to talk about. Discussing a topic you bring up in a public forum & people giving their two cents about it is par for the course, when people say they "have a problem" identifying what is & isn't a "complete game", I think it's because for most people the idea of that has become foreign. It's extremely uncommon for a game to release without any updates afterwards

Re: Random: Metroid Prime 4 'OG' Amazon Pre-Orders Are Being Cancelled

yohn777

@JohnnyMind How is MP4 "in quite a different spot" than BOTW? Nintendo has done several cross gen releases, in fact, your example of Twilight Princess is confusing because that game was designed for GameCube, then was ported to Wii & then also ported to Wii U. Very "cross-gen" if you ask me lol, I don't know what point you're trying to make with that but Nintendo has released many many games for more than one console. GameCube had bad sales tho & Wii didn't, so.. I'm not sure why you brought up Twilight Princess if your point was BOTW came to switch only because Wii U sales were bad. Your reasoning is very odd to me. They just released MP Remastered on Switch & on the Wii U they ported all the Wii versions of MP.
I'm totally open to either of us being right or wrong but the logic you applied just isn't making sense to me. We seem to just be talking in circles so let's just agree to disagree I guess

Re: Random: Metroid Prime 4 'OG' Amazon Pre-Orders Are Being Cancelled

yohn777

@JohnnyMind So in your mind, with basically the only new Nintendo game that's not a remaster that's been announced & hyped for the entirety of the previous cycle, you don't think there's a chance it's coming to Switch 2?
Lol, okay? Not sure I understand your logic since there's several parallels to BOTW but I suppose we'll see soon enough! Also I seriously doubt Nintendo would be willing to just give Switch 2 supporters a free or discounted version. It seems like that was only done on Wii U out of desperation to make more money from their relatively small audience compared to the money Wii & Switch made.

Re: Catly Developer Says Game Does Not Use Generative AI, Blockchain Tech, Or NFTs

yohn777

@VoidofLight It "looking evident to you" is not proof. Just because it seems like a case could be made does not equate that logic to actual evidence. Saying stuff like "just look at it" is not sufficient, please stop using that as your "proof". I'm completely open to the idea that you're 100% correct but seeing you double down about being right when there's nothing substantial to say this game is without a shadow of a doubt being made with AI makes me question your claims.

Re: 'Hyperdimension Neptunia' & 'Death End' Switch Releases Scrapped For "Not Complying With Nintendo Guidelines"

yohn777

Damn, I started collecting the Death End games on switch after I got the PS4 version of the first one for like $5. Now I guess I'll buy the stupid second one & eventually Code Z on my PS5 cause my dumb brain wants the whole set on one console. Not a huge loss imo cause they ran pretty bad on switch tbh, for no good reason considering it's like PS2/PS3 style graphics.

Re: Anniversary: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Is Now Six Years Old

yohn777

@NFrealinkling To that, I say that I also owned a Wii U & MK8 (also the dlc at the time), then, I bought MK8D the very first day I got my switch in 2017. The releases for early switch were pretty seldom, that was the main contributing factor of MK8D sales more than anything, in my eyes. I think Nintendo can do something similar with Smash & it'll sell extremely well. Btw several Wii games were ported to Wii U, such as Metroid Prime Trilogy, Xenoblade Chronicles, Resident Evil 4, etc. They were digital not physical, but it's still like 30 or so Wii games directly ported to Wii U.
I guess we're just different! Not everyone will be into it but I guarantee there's others like me who probably would. I can't say for sure I'd absolutely be into double dipping for smash myself, but I think if there's limited first party games for the next console, that an Ultimate bundle would get decent sales. No problem at all, I think my responses get pretty long winded

Re: Anniversary: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Is Now Six Years Old

yohn777

@NFrealinkling "Just" 6 years ago? The switch itself is still less than 8 years old lol? That's not a big time difference, smash was on switch for most of its life cycle (just like MK8 on WiiU). What about all the kids with parents who won't let their kids play an E10/PEGI12 game when they were too young? I also think you're missing the fact that smash is a monumental game in more ways than one, it's a big deal. With Nintendo being the owner of the best selling racing game (MK8) as well as the best selling fighting game (Smash Ultimate) of all time, it makes perfect sense they rereleased MK8D when they did, it's part of what made it the number one switch game. The difference in the amount of work is not comparable when it comes to porting & making a brand new video game, I'm not saying I would hate a new smash game. I am saying it wouldn't make any sense on Nintendo's part to do it that way. I'm not sure how else to convey to you that super popular games being rereleased with dlc is something that people definitely buy, cause they do it a lot these days. That's exactly why MK8D became so successful

Re: Anniversary: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Is Now Six Years Old

yohn777

@tourjeff This happened to a friend of mine who I've played smash with since high school. I really wish I knew why, bc he loved all the other games but he isn't really into ultimate. You like what you like, I guess.
@NFrealinkling I'm not sure if you own any consoles other than switch, but they rerelease games like this all the time. Playstation just released Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, originally a 2017 PS4 title, like 6 weeks ago. Capcom is releasing physical copies of RE2, RE3, & RE7 for PS5 in a couple weeks, even though they made PS5 versions 2 years ago & even though you could already play all three as PS4 titles on PS5 for years. Even if they neglected to give Smash ultimate any meaningful updates, I think it would probably sell well on "switch 2" as a bundle with the dlc. Probably extremely well.
@rjejr You sure like randomly guessing this stuff, huh? Mario Kart Deluxe Deluxe? Lol they definitely won't do that with MK8D, they already provide the dlc to that game for people with the premium subscription of NSO. They'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they started rereleasing all the things they've already rereleased. Plus I don't even think Odyssey had dlc. I could see an argument for Splatoon 3 maybe but after the last big splatfest it probably makes a lot more sense for a new entry for a new console. Also they will never release Smash (even by itself) for just $30 nor will they ever make BOTW & TOTK a bundle, not physically at least. If they did it'd be on the eshop for like $100 maybe. TOTK was $70 when it came out, it's not even two years old!

Re: Anniversary: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Is Now Six Years Old

yohn777

@HammerGalladeBro Lol I like how you replied actual Mario inputs to someone who said they don't play smash xD was that like, for you? Or do you think people who don't play fighting games knows what that means? I understand you were trying to help but that definitely made me laugh, thanks

Re: Soapbox: How Nintendo Unexpectedly Taught Me To Love Gacha Games

yohn777

@Arawn93 I'm not sure what YOU are trying to argue about. Also the random people you corroborated that apparently didn't have a problem don't encompass every players experience with XB2, either. Why do you think we're telling you it doesn't work the way you think it does? We weren't arguing for the sake of arguing, it's math, it's chance. Stop with the confirmation bias. Don't you think that people telling you that they did the exact steps you took & had different results means you should at least question what you knew? But no, you doubled down over & over & over again lol. Touch grass, man. Please stop telling people things are "objective facts" when they aren't.

Re: Soapbox: How Nintendo Unexpectedly Taught Me To Love Gacha Games

yohn777

@Arawn93 Lol I don't think gacha was any selling point of XB2, just a confusing surprise for 90% of everyone who booted it up. It probably has the best sales due to it being the first large scale rpg in the first year of switch. Also they had the physical release for Torna, which no doubt increased sales even more. Even though some were disappointed it wasn't more like the original game, I imagine that due to the initial disappointment of XCX that many more people were interested in XB2 than XCX, which was quickly considered by most just a spin off.
Nothing to do with the gacha crap. Good for you and others that y'all like it, I didn't though and obviously others didn't think it was great either. It's an extremely time consuming mechanic in an already very long video game.
