Re: Limited Run Announces Lord Of The Rings: War In The North Physical Release

yohn777

@LightSpirit They didn't say anything about the graphics and at no point did they 'skew your words' lmao. Also "60 FPS support, UI/UX optimisations, autosaves and additional save slots, gyro support and more" is not nothing, I'd even say more than 'barely anything' as you put it. Your argument is fundamentally inaccurate, the point @AussieMcBucket was making is that any game you don't already own is new to you. Fact of the matter is most people don't own a PS3/360 or aren't playing anything on it so this is a good thing. If you don't care about the upgrades or something then just don't buy it and move on.

Re: Feature: "It's Disingenuous To Call It A Remake" - Bethesda On Why Oblivion For Switch 2 Is A Remaster

yohn777

@ManuJihe I don't know if I agree about demon's souls remake. It's in a new engine, they literally redid all the animations & mocap, altered mechanics (admittedly trying to retain the original feel), plus (much to the chagrin of original fans) they did in fact change the art design of several things. That kinda sounds like a remake to me.
You mentioning that people have a hard time distinguishing the difference makes me laugh tbh, try having less hubris lol. Whether you agree after the points I made is irrelevant, because you proved to everyone that it's obvious why people are still confused by the fine line between remake & remaster.

Re: Feature: "It's Disingenuous To Call It A Remake" - Bethesda On Why Oblivion For Switch 2 Is A Remaster

yohn777

@Tyranexx Fair enough that you don't consider it "complete", but your original comment was talking about the game being "playable", which was why I was confused why you brought it up in that context. The game is definitely playable straight from the cart with no updates. Also basically all the postgame was available without an update, Darkrai & Shaymin were locked to mystery gifts & timed events so it's kind of a given you needed internet/updates for those when they were available.
Edit: My mistake, Ramanas Park and Battle Zone were in fact added in the day one update. Still doesn't mean BD/SP wasn't playable straight outta the case.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna - The Golden Country Free Switch 2 Upgrade Confirmed

yohn777

@Sonicka Yeah I know how to read, I realize you didn't bring up Zelda. Thanks though.
But the S2 versions of botw & totk literally ARE just graphics upgrade. Seriously what are you getting at? Why can't they be used in your example that Nintendo doesn't charge for just graphical upgrades? Because there's physical versions? That's $70 a pop. That seems like you're getting charged for just a graphics upgrade to me. Maybe I'm crazy lol.

Re: "We're Working With Nintendo To Get This Fixed" - Stray's Free Switch 2 Upgrade Is Missing

yohn777

@RupeeClock Your comment just proved my point that it's confusing, though. Also the fact that there needs to be a small paragraph on the front of these covers is a huge indicator it's not super clear to clock these differences. Again, seems like splitting hairs of the difference with the S2 hollow knight games having the upgrade pack on the cart or as a separate download. I don't mean to speak for the majority or anything but I don't think anyone other than hardcore enthusiasts will care about that distinction. I don't think it's bad to be consistent about wordage but personally, it's on par with correcting people for misspelling a word. I think with context the distinction is usually not necessary, & perhaps you disagree, but that's how I feel about it.

Re: "We're Working With Nintendo To Get This Fixed" - Stray's Free Switch 2 Upgrade Is Missing

yohn777

@RupeeClock I appreciate you giving clarification, but to me it seems like an argument of semantics on par with splitting hairs. I'm sure for the entirety of S2's life cycle we'll hear thousands if not millions of people refer to S2 games that are on both switch 1 & 2 as the "switch 2 edition", or version, or whatever. Back for gameboys people never made that distinction with an exact title, & personally I think trying to separate them with that wordage makes it even more confusing. Again, thanks for explaining, but I think in the grand scheme of everything it's pretty small potatoes.

Re: Dispatch Dev AdHoc Responds To Nintendo's Statement, Says It Intends To Address Censored Switch Content

yohn777

I think this is a sad desperate attempt to say "no it wasn't our fault". How can it be CERO's fault for all versions of this game on switch to be censored? No matter how you slice it, it doesn't make sense. They didn't want to delay the release to make a CERO version so they just censored all of them to get it out the door on time & now they're doing damage control. I'm willing to believe it's possibly Nintendo's fault but it just seems like Adhoc was being lazy. I hate this.

Re: Video: Nintendo Highlights Enhanced Switch Games On Switch 2

yohn777

@Dang_69 Please let your reading comprehension help you understand that your words added nothing of value to this exchange. It's a website where people talk about Nintendo sh*t, we're all talking Nintendo here but jfc use context clues next time. Obviously that comment had little to do with the topic but their point is still somewhat relevant & a valid opinion. Your reply to his you acted like he said something ludicrous but it's pretty normal for pretty much any article on here.. he wants more original games & there are Nintendo studios that are literally updating these old games to add features instead of working on new games. There's a decent chance the effort to do so isn't that difficult but considering how long it takes for new first party games these days, it's understandable to have contempt for something like this.

Re: Review: Blippo+ (Switch) - An Uncanny Channel-Surfing Sim That Perfectly Captures '90s TV

yohn777

@Elektrogeist1287 Why? You literally said 'why buy this if you can’t “play it”', when talking about video games. I gave an example of books that you don't "read". There's several games where you don't "play" anything, I personally think there's many examples of video game media where you don't have really any gameplay that are fantastic. If it doesn't speak to you, that's totally fine, but it feels like you're being willfully obtuse about understanding how someone could bring themselves to enjoy something like that.

Re: Review: Blippo+ (Switch) - An Uncanny Channel-Surfing Sim That Perfectly Captures '90s TV

yohn777

@Elektrogeist1287 Why would anyone buy a book that you don't actually read? Oh wait literally thousands of people do that, they're called audiobooks. Nothing wrong with people who enjoy unique media experiences, it's not insane just because it's not streaming on Netflix or whatever lol. Legitimately cannot tell if you're just trolling or not. Just because it doesn't interest you doesn't mean anything. You're a drop in the ocean.

Re: Terminator 2D: No Fate Has Been Delayed On All Consoles

yohn777

It seemed like this game was going to be $60 for a long time, but I finally saw today that digitally it's actually only going to be $30. Much more reasonable & I will keep an eye on it again, an extra $30 for the physical edition with a poster & collectible coin isn't worth it to me.

Re: Aardman Flocks Onto Switch This Fall With A Chicken Run Heist Game

yohn777

@LavaTwilight That's... pretty bad, objectively. Mindseye was considered one of the worst games to release this year & it has like a 5/10 on steam, 38 on metacritic. Outright games gets a ridiculous amount of licensed stuff for being dirt cheap & leaving development duties on unknown indie or mobile game teams. They pump out like 10 games a year & while I'll agree that none are necessarily abysmal (not that I've played a huge portion of them), it's clear that they have little interest in making a game for any other reason than to entertain a child that had parents buy it for them because it's SpongeBob or Paw Patrol or something

Re: The Hundred Line Director Has Already Announced A Brand New Game

yohn777

@BirdoDidNothingWrong No, it's likely Hundred Line just needs to succeed in the publishers eyes (Aniplex & XSeed) before his studio could consider any ports. A new game announcement with a new publisher doesn't exactly imply that he was being underhanded. Totally possible you're right & I'm wrong but I'm unsure how that would greatly benefit him in the long run

Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Has Been Rated For Switch 2

yohn777

@roy130390 Sorry for the late reply, didn't see your response until recently. I thought I touched a nerve since you weirdly repeated more than once my wordage about the people who insist on bringing up the "balance", as if the developers aren't even aware of the parameters of their own game. Also the fact that you called me self absorbed when all I did was tell you the truth.
I literally said in my first response the game can be criticized, you're free to be critical of it. But pretending like you know better is insane! Like actually insane. How many games have you programmed?
Implying that me trying to deescalate a conversation would be desperate is also insane. I hope you take some time to reflect & not get so worked up when talking to people online. Hope you have a great day.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Intended To Continue Bayonetta With Another Trilogy

yohn777

@KITG_GROUP I think Bayonetta would need to be much more profitable for Sega to consider more sequels, Nintendo is basically the only reason 2 & 3 exist. Hopefully eventually they'll at least port those to other consoles & they also sell well, so that it's at least within the realm of possibility. It might be due to poor marketing but the remaster of Bayonetta 1 bundled with Vanquish on Xbox & PS4 didn't even manage to sell 100,000 units, so even with an easy win like remastering Bayonetta 2 & 3 to modern consoles I'm not sure if Sega is willing to put in the effort.

Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Has Been Rated For Switch 2

yohn777

@roy130390 What do you think it means when people cry about a game being "broken"? That means it's unbalanced. If you make a video game, you can literally do whatever you want, including making said game unbalanced. Ever heard of kaizo Mario? You can think whatever you want man, clearly I touched a nerve let's agree to disagree lol.
