Edit: reading all the hate, i just have to say i absolutely LOVE this style, & so very happy the devs went this direction. Love the genre, love Okami art style, love everything about this game so far. So, if made as well as hollow knight, i could see it becoming my favorite in the genre. Keep up the great work. There are many fans, but only complainers take the time to post, so don't let it dissuade u.

@JJtheTexan yes, switch is a fantastic 2nd system. If everyone had another way to play games other than Nintendo 1st party games, they really wouldn't have a reason to be disappointed in switch. If switch is someone's only console, then i can understand the frustration sometimes, but i would recommend it as a support console to ps5, XsX/S, or a gaming PC.

Darn, the chibi looking Casey Jones & April O'Neil ruined the TMNT game for me. I hate that style of character. The turtles themselves didn't look bad, though. That sucks for me. That game fest was horrible for anyone who doesn't play survivor horror, or horror games, like myself. Glad i didn't get my hopes up for it.

@relinqued i think it's great, because I can't stand soccer, but thought since it's Mario, i may give this a go. But, they saved me $60, & i appreciate it.

...and FWIW, there's 56 reviews on metacritic, with an average score of 75. Nintendo Life review is 1 of only 5 reviews that are a 90 or above.

I need to try golf story again. I bought it cuz of the hype & it was really boring. I deleted it to make room on my microSD card, but I need go redownload it, & give it another try.

I hate all the "console exclusive" talk for silk song. At least be honest & put "timed exclusive" in there. I fell for that & bought the 1st on switch, & was pissed when it came to game pass shortly after i started it (i didn't get around to playing it for a long time, which would likely be the case with the sequel, so I'll wait for a game pass release, maybe).

I may get it on sale like the first one. I love zelda-likes, & that's all it has going for it. I can't stand retro looking games, so i wish the graphics were updated at least a little, but I'm sure that makes it more expensive to create, sadly.

@SwitchForce i agree, lots of dumb replies. If they have in a license agreement that u have to commit murder, is that enforceable, just because they said it in the agreement, lol? Some of the things they put in there aren't legal. They have an interest in making u think u have no rights & do not own the good that u purchase. Live service games are different, but physical games are considered a good that u own, regardless of what big corporations want u to believe (as evidenced by actual court decisions). But some just believe everything they are told, as evidenced by the last 2 years... I don't care enough to do ur research for u, but u should be more informed about ur hobby, IMO.

@cagriggs the fine was only levied because Nintendo brought a civil lawsuit, right? So in that sense, it wouldn't have happened if Nintendo didn't bring the suit, so i think that part is fair.

This actually looks interesting. I'm not a Sonic fan, have never liked any of the games, but this actually looks like something i would be interested in. So, for all the fans who hate it, they can ignore this game & play the traditional sonic games, & this can bring in a new audience. That may be the plan.

It definitely wasn't there when i was trying to preorder the XC3 collectors edition.

I loved the multiplayer of goldeneye on n64, but didn't like any other bond game. There was 1 on GameCube that was passable, but not good.

All this hype over Goldeneye, i predict major disappointment, because there's a reason they decided not to profit off of it for 20 years, & I don't think it's due to licensing. I hope I'm wrong, but we'll see.

They must be removed, always, but most of the time, it will say "removed-unconstructive" with the person's username still there, if they're modded, so idk why this person (@Anti-matter) never has any messages shown, but people replying to him. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Don't take a company's word for something that they benefit from u believing, especially when courts have said they are wrong. My 2 cents.

@HeeHo wow, those games looked decent to me. Something about this game looks bad & makes me wholly uninterested. Idk if it's a different filter, or what, but it looks very generic, & much worse than those 2 games to me.

From a casual pokemon fan, this did absolutely nothing for me. I look forward to try Arceus one day, as that at least looked interesting, but this was was generic as it gets. Lots of people said Arceus looked bad, but it looked fine to me. This however, looks bad. I'm not sure what is different, but something made it not appealing. Pokemon Y was the last pokemon game i invested time in, so this probably wasn't meant for me, anyways.

@N64-ROX sounds like he could be referring to bored ape yacht club or something like that (i realize the examples u mentioned were at least in the gaming world, but since i only read the snippets here, i don't have the full context, to see if he was strictly talking about gaming).

@LittleGhost i think the 3ds games' character models were fine (i give them a pass because of the limitations), but BD2 & this game both look bad to me, character wise. Personally, tho, I can't stand misproportioned, chibi, little person looking characters throughout the entire game. It just breaks my ability to be immersed, sadly.

This isn't good for Squenix's future, IMO. 64 years old seems young to retire from something u love...in the US anyways.

@Parkour_LMan to be fair, the squeaky wheel usually gets the grease, so i can understand why people are so vocal in this day & age. There are only so many games in development, & so many developers to go around. Everyone wants them to spend that limited time on their favorites, so it's understandable, IMHO.

Awww, i thought this was regarding the recent rumors of a zelda remake/remaster, like wind waker & twilight princess for switch. I was interested in how these rumors would have affected Retro...🤣 I guess that's unnecessary. It could have given insight to their genuineness. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I despise 8/16 bit graphics, or what they conveniently turned into the style called "pixel art", but the HD-2D is at least tolerable for someone like me who probably would just skip these games if they were just SNES looking games. I will be buying LiveAlive, so I'm glad they are taking the time do this, unlike other commenters. I can't ve the only one who wouldn't be buying these games if they were just normal SNES looking "retro" games. I am looking forward to dragon quest III, too. Octopath was decent. Triangle strategy was not for me. It was way too boring, with too much nonsense to have to read through that i had no interest in. I didn't play FF tactics, & i have no desire to play a game just due to the variety in classes. I love fire emblem, but that's the only style of tactics game i seem to enjoy.

TLDR; i am VERY happy Squenix is taking the time to make these, regardless of cost. I hope these catch on with other devs.

Is this a live service game? It mentions "the service", is why I'm wondering. If it's a full game that would be completely playable if you download it before it's removed, that's 1 thing, but if there are actual servers that will be taken offline, making some of the game inaccessible, also, that's a different issue, in my eyes. It's probably not something I'd play, anyways, but having accurate details is still important for people making decisions on whether to buy it, IMO.

@Tom-Massey the gameplay in the pacman game was horrific, tho (input lag was horrible, on the Xbox series version, anyways), so it may be a bad move to tell people to copy that.

@FishyS yes, it's very confusing to me, also. I don't understand why publishers always changed the titles so much between regions, etc. I really hope they've learned that this won't determine how well a game sells, if it's a good game.

@wuntyme8 i agree, i hate dungeon crawler RPGs, & those are always 1st person, but DQ11 has 2 different view options & neither is first person. It's a fantastic game, u definitely need to snag it if u like JRPGs.

I think South Park the stick of truth is the only Obsidian developed game I've ever thought was decent, personally. I have never liked fallout type games, alpha protocol was horrible, just everything i have looked forward to, that they developed, has let me down. KOTOR II was hot mess on Xbox, and it took everything i had to ride that out. Definitely wouldn't do it again.

@FishyS it's funny u mention conservative granny, but censorship has always been pushed by the left, especially (ask tipper gore about music with explicit lyrics). They go on to blame conservatives in future generations, but don't let them fool u.

@FishyS it's funny, i play my switch almost daily, and don't own (or plan to own) any of the games you mentioned (tho Pokemon Legends Arceus is a possibility of it goes on sale). I may be in the minority, but I'm sure I'm not alone.

I have gotten the My Nintendo trial for 100 platinum points, then at least 4+ of these that say "even if you already used a trial", but have never remembered to redeem a single time, until it's expired, lol. 1 week isn't long enough, especially when I'm playing games on other consoles. Actually, I'm grinding through SMTV daily, recently, & i still wouldn't redeem the trial, so i think it's more that i wouldn't bother while in the middle of a game. There's no point in wasting my data cap towards downloading these games that i need to remember to try within 7 days. The chance of me subscribing is zero, so it's probably not meant for people like me anyways.
