Re: Sea Of Stars Shares In-Depth Look At Chrono Trigger-Inspired Combat

twztid13

Is this coming to switch? Mentioning that in the story would be nice. If it's coming to PlayStation & switch, i will wait for the inevitable gane pass release, like the messenger. I hate retro graphics, but the messenger was fun, despite looking horrible to me. Hopefully this will be the same. They definitely get points for all turn based battles & no ATB guage (the beginning of the downfall of final fantasy) from me, so if it gets decent reviews, & doesn't come to Xbox, I'll buy it on PlayStation 4 or switch.

Re: Feature: 10 Series We'd Love To See Get The Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy Treatment

twztid13

I liked theatrhythm ok, but mainly because of the final fantasy content. I have just never cared about video game music. The music i love, i love because of the lyrics. Just instrumentals does nothing for me. I can't really say if any music without lyrics is "good", I only know if it doesn't get on my nerves. It's all just "there" to me. I'd like to play the dragon quest version, but I'd rather a turn based rpg without chibi characters, personally.

Re: Monkey Island's Creator Seemingly Shuts Down Blog After Personal Attacks

@BrandyBongos agreed. People argued for over a decade for video games as art. People ought to accept it as such, but instead think since it's an interactive medium, they should have input, for whatever reason. We need the game that artists/developers want to make. No censorship, or cancellation, or anything of the sort, IMHO. I wish they could make them in a bubble, & we not know anything about them until finished. Then, it may be different. I realize that's not possible in the age of social media, tho, sadly.

@Flashlink99 it's also people who feel really invested in certain franchises, so if it doesn't live up to their expectations, they think they know better how it should turn out. Entitlement i think has just as much to do with it.

Not a point & click game fan, but i wish them the best & hope it does well w the community after all is said & done.

Re: Video: Why You Should Play The Persona Series On Switch

twztid13

@ChromaticDracula I didn't like 3, it stripped out lots of the interaction in between dungeons, u just click on pictures & read text. It wasn't immersive to me. 4 or 5 are completely different, so i don't think u could choose wrong. If u play either first, u should still enjoy the one u didn't choose enough when u play it next. The stories aren't connected.

@TheBigK definitely worth it if u like turn based JRPGs, IMO. Not much else like them that I've played, but they all have a unique charm. They're very long games, tho, so be aware of that (it can be a positive or negative to different types of players). I didn't like the story of persona 5 (vanilla, i didn't play through royal. Way too long a game to replay for the extras added, IMO) as well as i did persona 4, so if u don't end up liking p5r's story, u should give p4g a chance when it releases.

I'm not sure how i feel about them removing the grid based gameplay from Mario+rabids, but I'll wait to see how everyone likes ot before i complain too much. In the age of final fantasy 7 remake, where they "fix" things that aren't broken, i have to be careful not to financially support games who remove turn based gameplay (many of us made the mistake of buying FF7R day 1, & didn't bother to play it, cuz they removed turn based battles, but those sales still count towards it's success). Hopefully, it functions the same here, & they did it for gameplay reasons, & not just to appeal to a broader audience.

I'm not a fan of pac man as a character or franchise, but if that remake was done correctly, i can see myself liking it.

Blanc looks really cool, I've never heard of it before, & will definitely keep an eye on it, now.

Overall, this was a great mini direct from the perspective of someone not immediately looking for new games to play (i have a huge backlog already, & game pass, so no rush). It put lots of games on my radar, some unexpectedly, so that's always good. I wasn't expecting anything out of it, so it didn't disappoint me (which can ruin a direct, if u want something that didn't get shown). I'm REALLY glad Live Alive got a demo, tho. Was planning to buy that game anyway, eventually, but still wasn't sure i would like it. I love turn based JRPGs, usually, so it seems right up my alley, but u never know w some games (especially since I don't care for "retro" games, pixel art, etc). Now, i get to try & decide myself. Great job, Ninty (IMO, ofc!!

Re: Watch: Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase

@Darylb88 in the US, u can get $130 - $150 for a ps4 at GameStop, not bad. I was thinking the same, but i still have some exclusives I've yet to finish on ps4 (persona 5 used to be one, but was over 100 hrs in & didn't wanna restart). They're all older games at this point, so if I could force myself to focus on finishing those, i could do the same, & sell my ps4. Sadly, i bought them all digitally, cuz i never thought i wouldn't want all 3 systems each generation, but I've realized i buy more games than i can finish, so i have to stop that somehow. Deciding not to get a ps5 this generation will help with that.

I tried to get a series x & ps5, & told myself whichever i find first, i will stick with. I found a series s first, & thought i would sell it when i found a series x, but I'm really happy with it, so I'll just keep it until it breaks before i buy a series x. Sadly, sony has picked me twice since then to buy a ps5 directly from them. I even had it in the cart ready to check out once, cuz i told myself i could sell it if i didn't want it. I didn't want to become what I despise: a scalper, so i passed. It was too late at that point, i had already found a new console.

Re: Watch: Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase

@YoshiAngemon another post with someone mentioning @Anti-Matter, but i still don't see a post from him. Ur post is number 33 for me, and every number before then is accounted for, with a post from someone in it. I've seen other comments mention this person in comments, but haven't see a post from them in forever. I checked to see if i have anyone blocked, but it says I don't. Very strange.

Edit: i refreshed a few times, & it changed ur post to number 35, and there's a post #5 & #32 missing, so something weird is going on. I thought before maybe the mods were censoring him, buy if ppl are responding to him, it can't be that.

Re: Rumour: Metroid Prime Remaster Apparently Lined Up For November, Prime 2 And 3 To Follow

twztid13

Why include them all 3 in a trilogy for $60 when u can sell them each separately for $60? Great question. I guess u wouldn't, if ur install base is big enough. Then, if this doesn't sell well enough, they will punish gamers for not wanting to pay what they think a 20 year old game is worth. Many don't care for the new controller schemes, & don't think it makes the games more valuable. I understand both sides. I don't think I'll be buying it even if it's $40, cuz i have too many new games in my backlog, so i don't need to dedicate time to a game I've already played to death, unless it were a remake.

Re: Memory Pak: After 20 Years, Eternal Darkness Really Deserves A Second Life

twztid13

I don't play many survival horror games anymore, because of health anxiety & panic attacks (& mainly due to jump scares, that remind me of how i feel during a panic attack, which could lead to one), but I loved this game. I played most all of the survivor horror games from ps1 until RE5, but haven't played any since then, because i got off medication for that issue after re5 was released. Eternal darkness was such a great game, i agree with the editor. I can't believe no one else has tried similar things in a game since, especially since the Nintendo patent has run out. Anyone who hasn't tried this game, really owes it to themselves to do so. The character swapping was what really got me into it, as i was mainly a JRPG fan, so i wouldn't normally have given these games a chance. Resident evil & parasite eve were the main series i had liked that were similar, but this stuck with me way more over time. Definitely a classic, IMO.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes

twztid13

@ModdedInkling that's interesting, since the 1 released before this was like the worst, & got horrible ratings for a musou game (& not just on switch). Can't remember if it was samurai warriors, or what, but it was the most recent release. I wonder why the difference in quality between that game & this one?
