The follow up to the 2017 indie hit Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King has finally confirmed a release date. Blossom Tales II: The Minotaur Prince will be launching on the Switch and Steam on 16th August this year.
If you played the original game, you should already be familar with the "story within a story" concept. But here's a bit extra about it, courtesy of the PR - along with a new trailer (above) showcasing some of the many foes:
Enjoy a "story within a story" as Grandpa narrates exciting moments throughout Lily's incredible adventure in a heartfelt tribute to both classic adventure games and beloved movies such as 'Labryinth' and 'The Princess Bride'.
As well as announcing the release date, the latest trailer below is a showcase of the nefarious foes Lily must defeat in order to rescue her brother from the grips of the Minotaur King.
In terms of features, players can expect the following - a main story and side quests, classic top-down action-adventure retro fun, mini-dungeons, many different locations, a choice-driven story, a wide array of weapons and abilities, and 15+ of gameplay.
In addition to this, a Limited Run Games physical release has also been confirmed:

I really oughta grab the first one at some point. Looks very cute.
First game was a fun romp back when the Switch was new-ish
Didn't like it enough I think to buy a physical copy of a sequel, but possibly a digital copy.
Looks cute. I bought the first game on the eshop on sale and really need to actually play it. Maybe the second game release will be good motivation.
Yep my niece love the first one so I'm getting her the second one.
I hope this one is better than the first. The first game was quite short but had some really bad design in some areas making it a slog sometimes.
The first game was too much like Zelda, and had almost nothing new or unique to bring to the table. This appears to be more of the same. Actually, it somehow looks like even more of a clone than the first one was if that's even possible. Not going to get this unless they show off something that's actually original.
I actually have this!
I really need to get through my backlog.
You linked the original trailer at the top of the article. I didn't know a sequel existed so i didn't realise until i saw the comments on the video were from 8 months ago. I was very confused 😅
Eh. There first one was incredibly mediocre for the most part. I hope this one is better.
Loved the first one, lovely game. Will get this too
The first one is one of my favorite Zelda clones. I'll definitely check out Blossom Tales 2.
I hope they’ll do a double pack axiom verge style. I very much liked the first cute game, but didn’t pick it up physically.
Good news! I liked the first one, definitely buying the second one.
This will be great! I can't wait to get my hands on it, I'll probably even go physical.
Looking forward to this one. The first one feels like it came out ages ago, so I’ll need a refresher on the game, but I’ll definitely play the second one. Looking forward to it. It’s been a little while since we’ve had a truly solid indie (or at least I’ve not found one in 2022), as the first one was.
Hey, it looks pretty good! I might get it day one.
Really need to finish the first one. It's like a SNES game punching above it's weight class.
I may get it on sale like the first one. I love zelda-likes, & that's all it has going for it. I can't stand retro looking games, so i wish the graphics were updated at least a little, but I'm sure that makes it more expensive to create, sadly.
