Re: Nintendo Minute's Kit And Krysta Reveal Why They Left The Company

twztid13

That's great news that they're going to do something different together. To me, anyways. I liked them together, tho i know many didn't. I hope that opens the opportunity to include content about other consoles/exclusives, but it probably won't. Sadly, i usually watched the show on the switch. Idk that i will go search them out on YouTube, i try to use platforms like that as little as possible. If this site posts their content, I'll definitely watch it, but i know that's unlikely.

Re: Round Up: The Pokémon Legends: Arceus Reviews Are In

twztid13

My only other pokemon game was Pokemon Y, which i never finished. I was disappointed with the lack of 3D & had plenty of RPGs in 3D to get to. But, i will definitely get this eventually. I was already looking at it, but the good reviews make it a sure bet I will buy it. I love turn based RPGs, but the world just never sold me. I didn't grow up with it, so it was harder for me to overlook things that I dislike, as I can with franchises i grew up with (Transformers & GI Joe). Hopefully, the lack of PvP focus will make it a much stronger game for someone like me who loves single player RPGs (especially JRPGs).

Re: Digital Foundry Gives Its Assessment Of Cloud Gaming On Switch

twztid13

@anoyonmus yeah, if they offered it as an option on switch, that could give players ray tracing, or just quality in general the system isn't capable of running itself, that would be fine. When they release switch games on the cloud with no other option, that's not a good idea, IMO, & i wouldn't do it if it was my company. All money isn't good money. If they want to keep doing it & don't care about upset customers, then go for it.

I hope people in UK still have options for a refund, because a short demo of a particular hand picked section of a game, isn't always representative of the entire game. If they don't offer refunds like with other games there, then they shouldn't be able to treat these as equal to release in other formats, IMO. But, it's their money. If they want to waste it, go ahead; but treat customers fairly, at least, & understand why many people don't like these releases, at least.

Re: Ubisoft: Players "Don't Get" What Makes NFTs So Beneficial

twztid13

@Imerion Exactly. They act like they're doing this solely for the gamers' benefit, lol. They're doing it to profit, while convincing gamers it's useful for them (the former is fine, as long as they were honest about it, & don't blame gamers because most want nothing to do with it). If they knew from the beginning that gamers wouldn't benefit at all, does anyone think they wouldn't be claiming the exact things they're claiming here? They have many other ways they could "allow" gamer to benefit, without this...charade, if that were their main concern.

To me, NFTs of images are to the digital content what "One True Voice" were to boy bands. Anyone who wants to dump their money or time into it, have at it; But, don't get salty when others want nothing to do with it. Only time will prove one way or the other, so it's pointless to argue the merit of this at this time. The point is, it's wrong to look down on others because they aren't interested in what you want them to be interested in.

Re: Review: Eschatos - A Boldly Unique And Historical Shmup Package

twztid13

@-wc- other genres that were around at the dawn of the gaming era have evolved so much in many ways (driving, fighting, etc). It would seem to me that SHMUP gene has always been pretty much the same, dodge bullets on a 2D plane. Ofc, I'm not a diehard fan if the genre, so this is just a guess from someone who enjoys maybe 1 or 2 games in this genre per generation.

Re: Review: Golden Force - Vibrant Action-Platforming Marred By Rough Edges

twztid13

@RGB87 i had a similar experience, i got it from the holiday giveaway, too. I don't understand why they don't offer save states or at least manual saves on a game that's "retro inspired" in every case. Current generation gamers don't usually like challenges this steep, so it would benefit all around since the ppl wanting a challenge wouldn't have to use it. With so many great games to play, i don't want to waste all the time & frustration it would take to play through the game, but with a feature like that, many of us would actually play through it.

I think this should be "are" instead of the 1st "and".

Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Scores March Release Date, New Trailer Appears

twztid13

I'm not getting my hopes up. The last one wasn't good to me, nor were any of the 3DS games or free to play or Kirby mini game stand alone releases. They probably spent too much time trying to make the multiplayer component, IMHO. I'm hoping for a good single player game like Kirby's epic yarn, but as i said, I'm not getting my hopes up. Any Nintendo games focusing on multiplayer, i can safely ignore. Fire emblem, Metroid (minus the 3ds co op atrocity),, mainline Mario games (the sidekick co op is something i can ignore, & the quality has yet to suffer from that being added 🤞), & especially Zelda are when i get my hopes up (already had to drop Paper Mario, it used to be on that list. I really wish they'd release a Mario & Luigi game on switch, since they already treat it like a portable).

Re: Random: Fan-Made 'Next-Gen PlayStation Portable' Concept Imagines A World Where Sony Takes On Nintendo (Again)

twztid13

What horrible analog sticks. Also, what happened with Vita is exactly what would happen if Nintendo listened to those clamoring for a more powerful system, even if it costs more (a switch pro, for instance). They couldn't resist making proprietary storage, no backwards compatibility, so that hurt the Vita,, especially, but Nintendo would make some bad decisions, too. It's inevitable once these companies get too conceited. They think they know better than all the customers what's best for them.

Re: Random: Did You Know About This Amazing Water Effect In The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild?

twztid13

Yes, how can you not notice this if you spend hundreds of hours playing it? I guess the same way i didn't know about the sunburn mechanic...? I paid close attention to many things in this game, & it's what made me fall in love with it early on, to overtake twilight princess as my favorite Zelda game (Zelda is my favorite gaming franchise, FWIW). I'm glad others are finally noticing things like this. The 1 thing i wish was possible is to turn off the weapon degradation, even if only after finishing it, because it would attract many other players (that's the biggest complaint that people i know who didn't like it or finish it had). It didn't bother me, but i know lots of ppl who wouldn't play through it for that reason.

Re: The Team Behind Bravely Default And Triangle Strategy Will Announce "Multiple" Games This Year

twztid13

@Ralizah agreed. I liked 13, bit didn't bother to play the 2 or 3 parts, because of the gameplay. I bought FFVII R on release day & was sorely disappointed that it wasn't turn based (i did a media blackout) & haven't made it passed the opening portion,,after the boss battle, but escaping the countdown is as far as I cared to play. Tried to go back recently & the HDR implementation was horrible & spending an hour trying to get it looking just acceptable made me abandon it again. I may try again if/when i find a ps5, if the upgrade is free, but still unsure. FF XVI is definitely not something that interests me, a fan who's favorite franchise was FF until the release of DQXI & persona 5, that made me realize that great AAA turn based games could still be created on newer generation consoles & didn't need to look photorealistic (i remember Squeenix claimed they were cost prohibitive, so they needed to make them appeal to the masses, ala not turn based, to be able to create FF games since they cost so much to make). I'm sure they gained a fan for everyone they lost, so they don't need me, but their abandoning gamers who supported them since day 1 makes it impossible for me to support them anymore. Turn based will still sell well, & they could have branched off the make the games they're making now without destroying what many of us loved about the series. Oh well...

Edit: sorry, i shouldn't have put all of that in a reply to ur comment, but once i got to venting, i wanted to get it all out 😝

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release, But Not On A Nintendo Console

twztid13

@Folkloner they have to find things to write stories about, to be fair. Try to have a little empathy, maybe (?), & imagine if this was your job. I'm sure they're pressed to do stories that they don't want to do sometimes, so as long as they aren't blatantly dishonest, i cut them some slack, myself. I do get upset when someone is flat out deceitful, but "potential" release is what makes the statement you quoted accurate, to me. I didn't see anything blatantly dishonest in this story, personally. I thought they explained their rationale well enough, but to each his own, ofc.

Re: GoldenEye 007 Is Getting A Digital Release, But Not On A Nintendo Console

twztid13

Wow, great news in 1 respect. In another, everyone who played it when originally released will get to see how horribly it has aged. It's a good time to show everyone how their minds can alter our memories of great experiences with games, to make us see them with rose colored glasses (since at the time, we didn't have all these current games to compare the games to). I think older gamers are better off not touching it if you enjoy your memories of how great it was.
