@StephenYap3 same, i wasn't feeling the battle system, else i would have been interested in it. It was just watching an ATB guage & hitting the correct button when each got to a specific point. Not much strategy at all in the demo. Too bad, wasted opportunity.
@nessisonett they transform into alternate outfits, that look like the 1 in the back, but i wasn't aware they changed hair color. It's possible, tho. It definitely doesn't look like the same girl to me, besides the hair style, but probably is. The theme im the game seemed like it was all girls who were attracted to each other & could hook up at any time. Maybe it was just me, but that's what i expected at every moment, knowing it was a Japanese developer, but not sure if it ever happens (it didn't im the demo).
@Ralizah it has a demo, check it out. It was pretty interesting, it had .e wanting to know more, but i really didn't like the battle system, it didn't seem to have any strategy, except maybe a mini game playing w ATB guage in final fantasy or something. Maybe it got better, idk, but the character relationships definitely made it seem like a perverted fantasy, u always expected them to start making out, out of the blue, lol.
If it wasn't so slow & easy, I'd definitely get it. The slowness will get a patch, but just going through the motions in an easy game is pointless. I may as well watch a lets play.
Metroid dread, Tokyo mirage sessions, lies of astaroth (xbox), then maybes, if i have more time will be either RDR2, scarlet nexus or the gardens between (before it leaves game pass soon) all on series s. Lots of backlog on ps4 that i have completely put off for now.
@Shambo I'm in the middle of Tokyo mirage sessions, but i only play it at night, so will be a while before i finish it, i bet. Idk if i should wait to finish it before i snag SMTV, but will be hard to wait. I know if i get SMTV, i will play it instead, ofc, & I'm always worried I'll get burned out on Atlus' games (because i do get burned out on things, & all these games have the same enemies), so i don't want to play them back to back to back, but oh well.
@Edwirichuu the 3ds one was my 1st & it kinda sucks that every game has all the same enemies (in addition to the persona games, because i play those now also, since persona 4), but that's really the only knock on those games for me. I love jrpgs like dragon quest, final fantasy (mainly the turn based ones), etc & anyone that loves any of those games should love SMT. I am so glad there's another series besides dragon quest that's holding down the turn based fort & i will continue to support them by buying their games as long as they do.
@andyg1412 exactly same for me (and only a maybe on advance wars, unless they can make it look much better than what was in that vid. I never played the originals, i don't play handheld games (until 3ds,, solely for 3d), so i don't have nostalgia rose colored glasses to make it look appealing like i do with most of their releases.
@TheBigK i think people will be underwhelmed if it's on switch. It's already had to restart development, which is never a good sign, on top of so many playing FPS games on true next gen consoles, so there's so much to compare it to & judge it by. Metroid dread already looked really bad anywhere capable of 4k, & even at 30fps, i think it will be tough to make that game look anywhere close to comparable, unless it has basically no textures on anything. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'd rather have it on the next console than be disappointed personally. Ideally we could have had it already & have the next iteration on next console, but Metroid games take 2-3 longer than their other properties, it seems. They definitely thought the development that already happened wasn't good enough, else they wouldn't have started over & gave it to another developer.
@Wexter exactly. Many people these days would rather screech, virtue signal & tear down others via social media as part of the mob to make themselves feel important instead of hearing both sides of a story, then trying to put themselves in the positions of both sides to put things in perspective & take a rational position on issues (which usually don't even need the masses to weigh in, but at least take this rational position to forums & social media when they're bored).
@Savage_Joe it may be, but that should be the goal for people who don't like it, to convince them to end the policy (those who worked there, not necessarily the uninformed masses). All we have is 1 side if the story, as is often the case when businesses make specific decisions where 1 side goes to the media. Then, maybe the company may decide to at least explain why that's their policy & try to help everyone understand why they have it.
I Know better than to make decisions based on 1 side of a story, because we often only get the parts of the story favorable to those who tell it. If we had both sides, we could make a more informed opinion, but it's still a private business' policy. If they chose not to change it, no one is forced to work there. When we get to start making policies for other people's companies, the world is in trouble (we're already half way there, sadly).
@Savage_Joe doesn't need to. They have a specific policy at the company, that was in place before the employee worked there, so they could have worked on more than 25% of the game if they wanted their name in the credits, or try to get the policy changed before they quit.
@Floki BotW is a 1st party game that not many can pull off on switch hardware (ask Ubisoft), especially some 1st time developer on the system, IMO, so don't get ur hopes up.
Too bad honor of kings never came to switch in US. They abandoned arena of valor years ago & all the players were watching worldwide as HoK was released, India got a new version,,so we thought other regions were next, but i gave up waiting after 1 yr of playing the dead version of AoV.
I don't trust this company (tencent), first off, for western releases (i hope u pokemon unite players don't get,too attached, cuz they'll rip the rug out from under u, watch). Secondly, i doubt the game shown could run on switch, even with tons of sacrifices. It would be great to try on series x or ps5, tho, if it stays true to the big boss battles in the trailer (boss design reminded me of nioh, kinda).
I don't think anyone except casual gamers get mad about delays these days. Gamers usually know what it means if they release the game on time, even when they're not finished or confident in their product, & would rather avoid getting a glitch filled mess just because it's released "on time". Sadly, this is usually do to publishers wanting their return on investment, & they probably blame the developers for not working hard enough or without problems during development. The publishers are strictly interested for profit, & don't consider games the art most gamers do. The publishers want their money, even if it means the customers have to put up with a little jank. I've heard them say if they gave the developers all the time they needed, games would never release, so they have to have hard deadlines, etc. I wish there could be some middle ground, at least. I know AAA devs of games of proven franchises can get this middle ground, sometimes, but not smaller studios, or unproven AAA games, usually. I can understand both sides, but i really wish developers could self-publish always, because we get the game most authentic to the artist's original vision in those cases, most times.
@MrGawain i think they're usually prodded by the console creators to announce games ASAP, to try & sell consoles, so people will be able the see their "favorite games" & know they're coming to that particular platform. The Bayonetta 3 request was indeed unique, but hopefully it sells extremely well so that console manufacturers see that it's not a hindrance to wait to show big titles like this (though, it still probably won't change their behavior or expectations in reality, sadly).
I never played this, only the wii version. Too bad there's no remake, but if it's too heavily built around the n64 controller, it may not be transferrable to present day in a similar form, sadly. I'm not getting the online plan to play this 1 game, tho.
@victordamazio i love the ignorance of subject of censorship. Look up tipper gore, it was democrats who actually wanted censorship, they just say otherwise to certain segments of people (like Hilary Clinton w the hot sauce in her purse). They think what u say is more important that what u do. It wasn't only conservative Christians pushing for censorship.
Good thing it's a mech game that's not coming out in US, cuz i won't miss it. I can't stand mech related games for some reason. I like level 5, tho, so maybe something different can come here, if they ever make more than 1 game a decade, again, lol.
@WoomyNNYes only way to really earn them is weekly log in to my Nintendo (30), sign in on Nintendo.com (30 per week), 10 per month for staying opted in for marketing emails, & 30 per week for 3DS eShop sign in (need a new battery so i don't do this one). Occasionally they have a "find 4 snow cones on the Christmas game website" type of things for 100 points. U have to basically go out of ur way to earn them tho, or have specific intentions at least.
@larryisanassman yeah, it'd be different if u got a version better than u could even get on a series x or ps5, or at least equal, w ray tracing, etc, but for a dumbed down version to be full price doesn't seem like a great deal. But, as u can see from these comments, ppl will pay it anyways. I just think more ppl would buy it if they thought they were getting a fair deal.
@Tendogamerxxx yes, because it would have cost WAY more & wouldn't have become the success it has become if it was everything u want it to be. If u want to play games like this, buy a series s. For Nintendo, the switch's specs were exactly what they needed to be for success. They don't need to split the user base for a "pro", as they learned from their mistakes (new 3ds). There will be a new console from Nintendo with better specs when they feel it's necessary. They are a business, so they have to do what they think is best for their bottom line.
FWIW, Nintendo Life needs a feature in the comments section that takes u immediately to the post a person is responding to. It's way too time consuming to try to find every post in a conversation, or to even find where it starts. If there was a button on each post that took us to the post the person's comment responded to, it would be insanely helpful.
Or, u could even put the post number that someone responded to in each post, in addition to their username, so we could manually find it. That would be much easier for your webmaster/s to implement.
I think Metroid dread looks pretty bad, but it's because it runs at 60fps. I don't think anyone with the switch as a secondary console thinks there needs to be a switch pro. I'm an insane graphics whore usually, but the switch is fine, especially for 1st party games. If u only have the switch to play graphic intensive games on, i can understand ur pain, but my advice is get a series S for those games that need more processing power. Games u can only play on switch are great, i don't think they would make them look much different if they were making those games to run on ps5 level hardware, so the extra horsepower would be wasted. Sure, they'd be in 4k, but i have learned to play switch games in handheld recently & they all look great there, even Metroid dread looks great in handheld.
@NEStalgia agreed. Also, i hate that the best upgrades are locked behind defeating the EMMI's eventually, it seems anyways (the ones I've beaten so far all have great ability unlocks). I understand the concept of locking the ability upgrades behind tough boss battles, but this just doesn't seem to flow well, IMHO, versus these particular "bosses". It's strange, cuz i think if it were just some other bosses in the same point in the mission, i wouldn't have as much issue with it, so it may be that i am just biased against the EMMI, after the things we both mentioned. I haven't played the other Metroids in a long while, but i don't remember every upgrade being locked behind boss battles. i thought we found many upgrades & abilities by exploring, & that aspect seems absent from this game, sadly. But, i get it. it was something they had in mind to try for a while, so i don't hold it against them. U & i both bought it & are playing it, so we aren't saying to "boycott" or anything because of these decisions. We just don't like that aspect of the game & hopefully when we voice our opinions about this so it can be "fixed" in future iterations, we won't be shouted down, or be called traitors to the franchise, etc, lol.
@Harmonie i understand, & i don't always agree with that argument, but i can understand their perspective. I can also understand yours. I think if the easy mode is added afterwards, it's fine. There's no way to know of it fundamentally changed a game's development, but i can see that it's possible, & that's what those people are afraid of who don't want easier difficulties on any game. In turn based rpgs, i think it's definitely fine (my opinion, ofc), because they're likely just to alter stats to make it easier. I think that would always be fine.
Someone mentioned adding extra save points etc to dark souls, that would be the best way to do it to appease both sides, but when it's baked into the game design (like specific hard battles may not be included, or at least they could be made differently knowing it has to appease a wider audience), those are problematic to me. I would always prefer more people get to play any game, but not at the sacrifice of the original intent/vision. The problem is, there's no way to know if this is the case, so many who dislike the easy difficulty being added, would rather they just didn't touch it at all with that in mind, because there's no telling how much of the game would be "dumbed down" to make it approachable for people who may play it & not like it anyways. The devs know the niche audience they designed games like dark souls for will like it, but the masses are a toss up. That's the point i was trying to make.
@armondo36 that would be a great way to do it, but that's after the game has already been designed to be harder & adding the easy difficulty later. If they planned on the easy mode from the beginning, it can fundamentally change the game design, & those same fights may not have made it into the game.
@Harmonie it's the design of the game ppl are worried about. If there's only 1 difficulty the game is designed around it & doesn't have to be weakened to be tailored to a lower difficulty. If they know they have to make it easier at some point, there will likely be sacrifices. Fans of any series don't like their favorite franchises changed to accommodate ppl who may still not like it anyways. Ideally, they would go back & just change the stats in an rpg to make the originally designed experience a bit easier, but we all know when a game will be made for a broad audience, it will designed with them in mind the entire time.
@NEStalgia yes, Metroid is definitely frustrating, mainly because it's a waste of time, IMO. It's not strategy, or fun, to have to play hide & seek in this type of game, imo, especially when We know where to go. 1 hit kills in any game has always been horrible game design, IMO, also, but we have to suffer through it if we want to play the rest of the game, sadly. It doesn't help it looks so bad on a 4k 40"+ TV. It looks great in handheld, tho.
@MS7000 thankfully it's never too bad. The games are always great without the dlc, so it doesn't bother me too bad, in Atlus' case. It sucks for those who don't want to spend more than $60, that we won't get all the content, but i gave in & bought a few outfits in persona 5 for instance, to support them, but i would have never missed anything if i hadn't spent that extra. Thankfully, their games are some of the few worth full price, because they have tons of content already, IMO.
Apparently u can't just spam X either to make sure u are eventually pressing X when the flash happens. I got to this page searching for what button u need to press to counter it (because i always failed, even when trying to spam X, so i was hoping i was pressing the wrong button, lol). I was pressing the right button, but the timing is almost impossible to get consistently (or at all, in my case, as an older gamer w reduced reaction time). Good thing u don't lose much progress when u get killed by one (so far, anyways).

Or, u could even put the post number that someone responded to in each post, in addition to their username, so we could manually find it. That would be much easier for your webmaster/s to implement.
Re: "I Don't Think The Switch Needs A More Powerful Version" Says 'World War Z' Lead Designer
Re: Oh No, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Has Been Delayed On Switch
OMG, PLEASE make it look better. I would love to try this, but can't with way it looks in the trailers we've seen.

@NEStalgia agreed!!
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V Gets Day One Paid DLC And Digital Deluxe Edition
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V Gets Day One Paid DLC And Digital Deluxe Edition
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V Gets Day One Paid DLC And Digital Deluxe Edition
@armondo36 that would be a great way to do it, but that's after the game has already been designed to be harder & adding the easy difficulty later. If they planned on the easy mode from the beginning, it can fundamentally change the game design, & those same fights may not have made it into the game.
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V Gets Day One Paid DLC And Digital Deluxe Edition
@Harmonie it's the design of the game ppl are worried about. If there's only 1 difficulty the game is designed around it & doesn't have to be weakened to be tailored to a lower difficulty. If they know they have to make it easier at some point, there will likely be sacrifices. Fans of any series don't like their favorite franchises changed to accommodate ppl who may still not like it anyways. Ideally, they would go back & just change the stats in an rpg to make the originally designed experience a bit easier, but we all know when a game will be made for a broad audience, it will designed with them in mind the entire time.
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V Gets Day One Paid DLC And Digital Deluxe Edition
@NEStalgia yes, Metroid is definitely frustrating, mainly because it's a waste of time, IMO. It's not strategy, or fun, to have to play hide & seek in this type of game, imo, especially when We know where to go. 1 hit kills in any game has always been horrible game design, IMO, also, but we have to suffer through it if we want to play the rest of the game, sadly. It doesn't help it looks so bad on a 4k 40"+ TV. It looks great in handheld, tho.
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V Gets Day One Paid DLC And Digital Deluxe Edition
@MS7000 thankfully it's never too bad. The games are always great without the dlc, so it doesn't bother me too bad, in Atlus' case. It sucks for those who don't want to spend more than $60, that we won't get all the content, but i gave in & bought a few outfits in persona 5 for instance, to support them, but i would have never missed anything if i hadn't spent that extra. Thankfully, their games are some of the few worth full price, because they have tons of content already, IMO.
Re: Metroid Dread: E.M.M.I. Guide - How To Evade, Escape And Kill An E.M.M.I.
