Trailers, reveals, shadow-drops, speculation — it's E3 season, alright! We'll never be able to shake that term off, even if we think we should probably come up with a new name for it. And we know June is always rife with rumours and excitement, and while this one's a little bit bizarre, it certainly follows a very Nintendo pattern.

Bayonetta 3 was announced way back in 2017, and the only trailer we've seen since was shared last year (and it's above too, in case you've forgotten how brilliant it is!). And while Nintendo did reconfirm as part of its latest financial report that Bayonetta 3 is still coming in 2022, people are getting desperate for more details. Where's the news? The trailers? The glory! If Bayonetta 3 is coming out this year, then surely now is the time to show off the Umbra Witch's skills once again.

Well, in what might be a sliver of hope, fans have spotted that Bayonetta 3 is now appearing at the top of the list of Switch games on the My Nintendo Store right next to a handful of other 2022 locks like Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and Splatoon 3. And apparently, it wasn't there yesterday. Here's what it looks like at the time of writing this!

So of course this has got people very excited. But this is such a small thing, so we don't want people to get their hopes up too much. Yet, the only reason we and many others are clinging onto this is because of something that happened before the September 2021 Direct, where Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 were prominently advertised on the eShop the day of the Direct. And that turned out pretty well!

Okay, okay, it could be nothing. Nintendo hasn't even announced a Direct for this summer yet, after all. But we're hoping and praying to see more Bayonetta 3 sometime in the near future at the very least.

Do you think this means anything? Are we silly for getting our hopes up once again? And do you want to see more Bayonetta 3 soon? Let us know.
