The Game Gear didn't dethrone the Game Boy back in the '90s, but it still did respectable business for Sega and is fondly remembered today – so much so that the Sega Shop Europe has just released a range of merchandise based on the classic portable.
The new range includes two shirts, some pin badges and a rather fetching cap – all emblazoned with Game Gear-related iconography.
Sega recently celebrated its 60th birthday with a pint-sized version of the handheld – a Japan-only venture that perhaps wasn't as successful as it could have been.

I think the cap is the best looking one out of all the items.
I miss my game gear
Now this I definitely want. I grew up with the GameGear. The hat I like the most.
Game Gear is one of the few consoles I don't think much of, but man, that hat is cool!
Like the T-shirt. I feel like, on the back, it should show a massive pile of spent AA batteries…
I wish Sega would make a simple, no-frills tablet system similar to the Switch lite with style influences from their past systems and call it a Game Gear 2 or something. Digital-only with a Sega e-shop type thing and/or bundled classics delivered on a schedule like the Playdate.
It's a shame, but despite a Sega Shop EU version in existence, the fact is that they must operate from the UK anyway, because even on sale the products end up being so expensive after shipping and taxes. And they have good stuff (not that good as before, with many great T-shirts disappearing from their catalog long ago), but it all ends up costing more than it would if they dispatched the items from inside the EU.
Love the Game Gear, but I'll probably pick up some Sega Saturn socks instead
They should sell some capacitors at this point, lol
