Re: Surprise! Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Is Available Now On Switch & Switch 2

My logic on these two is a bit weird but, if a game runs better on PS5 I buy it there. If its a Ninty exclusive game that will be mostly played on TV, I get the SW2 version but if its available on the SW1 I usually go for that. SW2 never gets played in handheld mode so no point compromising on the TV experience. For those who dont have that option, I hope it runs well enough on Switch

@sketchturner
This is my thinking with Metroid 4. I will be getting the SW1 version to play on OLED as I still think certain games (Doom 3, Metroid Dread, Maro Wonder etc.) still look better on that system. I will inevitably drop for the upgrade pack as I will want to see for myself how it runs on SW2 on the bigger QOLED 4K TV, but my SWOLED gets more play than any other console and that includes PS Vita and 3DS XL.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2's Next Exclusive 'Drag x Drive'?

From what I have seen, this looks a bland and boring experience so i have no interest which is a shame as I would have expected a Switch 2 first party exclusive to be a must have. Feels like another cash grab after the welcome tour and a way of justifying the mouse control of the new console. I would rather see games that would benefit from a mouse option (house of the dead, doom etc.) get an update than invest time or money in this.

@Khwarezm89 indeed, in that way, it’s much better than digital only option (both take up the same storage space) and could well end up being a more cost effective option than a physical cart which will likely hold its price. For someone like me who doesn’t collect games, just likes to play them then move on, its great.

Im struggling to see the issue. I buy digital for convenience. If the game is naff, i finish it, get bored etc. im stuck with it.
Key card, same scenario, but I can sell it on.
Of course a cart is better, but surely being able to sell it is better than digital, plus the price will likely lower as it moves through the second hand market unlike the expensive digital option.

@Ellie-Moo I sold my OLED on in favour of a Lite as I needed something pocketable. You can have two consoles on your account and just switch 'virtual' game cards between them.
Just bought Nier: Automata to try on SW2. If I get to a stage where it crashes, I can just continue playing on the Switch Lite, then go back to the SW2 when its stable again. Virtual cards are brilliant when you have more than one console.
Try Fast Fusion on Gameshare, its pretty good, even on the second console.

@Ellie-Moo it is still running the same CPU, larger screen etc. and its emulating the SW1, so you will get a little more than something like MKW or Cyberpunk, but still nowhere near the duration of the OLED.
Its about on par with the OG switch or Lite but they can't run demanding games like SW2 can.
Price to pay for progress. Bear in mind no powerful handhelds have solved this problem. There must have been magic dust in the OLED to run that lovely 7 inch screen for up to 9 hours!!

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Nintendo Switch 2

I am not blown away as I got exactly what I expected; a Switch Pro. I have a PS5 Pro for eye candy and this is a hybrid console I can play on the couch or the TV. Everything is faster and slicker which makes a lot of difference. If you had an eight year old smartphone, you would be looking to upgrade that too.
I dont get the gripes about the UI either, its not a PC or media centre, you just want to choose your game to play.
My only gripe is the battery life which means it will be a TV based console 90% of the time, but I have a Switch Lite for something pocketable with better battery life anyway.
