Re: Cave's DoDonPachi Is Coming To Switch, But It's Not The One You Want

@Darlinfan

We both agree that Manfred Trenz is a hearthrob, and that counts more than anything.

I wonder what Cave owns of Cave (and is Cave really active anymore? As a business, they've been around, I suppose). How much does one have to deal with Sega (Atlus) and Taito to get some Cave goodness out to the world? M2 seems to be working on it. But it's M2, and their perfectionism can take forever. Have they released any of the Toaplan ports yet? They acquired the rights two or three years ago it seems.

More importantly, why did I keep passing on DonDonPachi when the Saturn was relevant? Radian Silvergun too. I had the Psikyo and Taito and Irem titles. I was dumb.

Re: Random: Elon Musk Appears On Saturday Night Live As Wario

SNL was always pretty lame. Remove the nostalgia goggles. It's just Hee Haw from New York, after all. In standup, you can spend 10 years developing your first 1 hour act. British serials: six episodes and Bob's your uncle. Nobody is funny enough to write live sketch comedy bangers every week. Although, the stuff they let Kyle and Beck produce and then never air on television is pretty legit. Elon performed better than I had anticipated. Yes, what I have seen from it is much like a trainwreck, but he wore that trainwreck like a fine piece of jewelry.

Re: Konami's Classic Coin-Op Shooter Thunder Cross II Hits Switch This Week

Why aren't these games showing up as updates or DLC to the Konami Anniversary collections (that, fyi, didn't even have Frogger, lol).

Also, where's Raiden. Heck, where's Cotton and all of the M2 shmups I saw everyone review a year ago? I ain't doing this multiple accounts on my switch crap. :0

Rabble rabble. Hey kids, get off of my lawn!

Re: Back Page: Guessing The Next Zelda Title Using Industry Trends

On E3, they’re announcing N64 on Online w/ the two Zelda titles doubling as the anniversary celebration. Possibly one of the portables too. That leaves Windwaker, if I’m not mistaken. Either GameCube online too or as separate. Mario having been limited, it’s either N64 online or N64 annnd GameCube.

Re: Poll: What's The Best Mega Man Game?

I’ve played the NES titles and they’ve all blended together. I know which one is Mega Man 2 because of that giant face cloud platform thing in the old marketing materials.

Re: Soapbox: 'I'll Play It On Game Pass' Is Becoming Common, But Does That Affect Switch eShop?

robr

I never in my life thought I’d own an Xbox console. They won me with the One X and they’ve already got a Series X sale with my name on it, sometime, when stock is normal in 2022. I had gamepass. I did not enjoy the process of downloading massive files to a hard disk and then deleting them to make space. I did indeed buy the games I took a chance on and liked. I was combing through the current stable and was pretty impressed. They’ve got a lot of games I already own and really like. I’m not into renting so much. I want to be able to have a year in between playing something if need be. It’s not for me, but it’s so enticing if it’s your thing. Currently, there’s a lot of games on gamepass I’d rather play with an 8bitdo pad. I could see people trying in gamepass and then buying on Switch over controllers or the ability to play portably. Generally, however, the point is pretty mute. Publishers/Developers get compensated by Gamepass and I want to believe a lot of customers are playing games they had no intention of buying/trying out.
