Love the art style and I am always down for a good puzzler. The strong reader responses here coupled with the NL review have me pretty well and sold on this.
I am a coward, and find zombies especially upsetting (context: Sean of the Dead proved too much for me), so I have never played a Resident Evil game. This is probably the only one I'd consider picking up, but I'd probably just as well opt for the Wii or GC versions from a bargain bin. At any rate, too many other games (that won't scare the bajeezus out of me) that I need to play first.
The announcement of games 20-30 for the Mega Drive Mini caused me to pre-order that, so I can't in good conscience buy Bloodlines twice in the same week by picking up the Castlevania collection here (...but I probably will later; maybe next week!). Curious for the NL review of Sonic Team Racing / AC3, so I'll hold off 'til then. I am not a fan of zombie games (even the zombies in Conker's Bad Fur Day scared the bajeezus out of me), but otherwise I would be sorely tempted to pick up one of the RE remasters.
WILEY WARS!!! Wow. What a list. Can’t believe I’m going to have to buy Sonic for the twentieth time, but this is getting to be too good of a package to turn down.
@RyanSilberman I have had similar thoughts. I love my Genesis (still play it), and really want Sega Ages to do well. But I have yet to buy a single one (though I am probably picking up Virtua Racing this weekend, once I check the ol' piggy bank) because when I thought long and hard about it, the Genesis collection was so much of a better value buy (I LOVE the collection).
Now if they'd start putting Saturn and Dreamcast games into the Ages line-up, SIGN ME UP! Or even Genesis games that are not in the Collection — but with the Mini coming down the pike with some genuinely exciting new inclusions not found in the collection (Bloodlines! Earthworm Jim! Ecco!), I suspect Ages will need to shake it up even more to attract market attention.
Various Sega Genesis Collection titles (Columns, Columns III, Sonic 1, Sonic Spinball), World of Goo (Switch version), Worms WMD, Xeodrifter, and Golf Story.
Working all weekend; but during my breaks, other than watching my Seagulls opt to fall rather than stand against Southampton (ugh), West of Loathing (opposite of ugh!).
Loved the first outing. Picked this up, but have been too busy with work to give it a try yet. Glad to see it seems to have met (or even exceeded) expectations. Can't wait to give the sequel a spin.
@Mamabear yeah, this game is incredible. Every aspect of it is so well done—art, story, music, etc. Wonderful balance of humor and pathos. I’m the cow puncher for my first go through, but this game has so much replay value, I will definitely come back. Almost picked snake charmer.
Finally 100%ed Smash (somehow exceeded the hype — ultimate, indeed!, Sonic Generations (underrated—very enjoyable game, albeit with some tedious grind and ODIOUS buy mercifully sparse cutscenes), and Another World (glad I played it from an “appreciating gaming history perspective,” but I did not like it). So my new rotation (which I’m loving) is:
Metroid (Wii virtual console) Steamworld Dig (Switch) West of Loathing (Switch) Grim Fandango (Switch)
In terms of portable ports, I’d love for Nintendo to make a portable Zelda collection for Switch — or a top-down Zelda collection, better yet!
The Capcom titles would be trickier to get a hold of, I’m sure. But I missed out on all of these games (Switch is my first portable console since Gameboy, more or less), so I’d love to give them a go!!!
Good god. There is so much of EVERYTHING in this game!!! I foresee many, many hours of my life vanishing into the Smash ether....Glory.
Also, I claimed MyNintendo coins for my pre-ordered physical game but Nintendo hasn’t emailed me a Piranha code. Is that not happening until closer to him being released in February? Did others get their codes?
Yes yes yes!!! So excited for this release. Even if it’s bad. I am a die-hard TJ&E fan (their inclusion in Mega Drive Classics are a major reason I’m considering ponying up despite me owning many of the games in collection on at least 2-3 systems).
@Moroboshi876 I’m probably going to do it your way, assuming there is the spot-save function. Only way I can play through coin-op games in spurts (like the Season mode of 2020 Baseball or the myriad SNK fighters that I’ve picked up). I loved the way Digital Eclipse did it with Street Fighter — no need to reboot the software to pick up at the save point — Hamster should take note!!! — so I hope it’s the same. May influence how soon I pick this up.
@GrailUK Indeed, a really creative feature. But it would be cool if one also could spot-save (the way one could do extremely easily with the Street Fighter Collection that Digital Eclipse did).

Conflicted emotions about this.

Just started Bleed 2. So far even more fun than the original, and controllers are tighter. Plus starting with the katana is a blast.
Re: Joker Steals The Show In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate This Week
So excited to get to return to smash for the first time in a while to beat Classic mode again with a new character! And stage builder sounds dope.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 23rd)
West of Loathing, Steamworld Dig, Grim Fandango, Golf Peaks, LA Noir, plus leveling up some spirits in Smash. Maybe some original Metroid.
Re: Blaster Master Zero 2 Looks Amazing, And You Can Get It On Switch Today
Original was such a surprising gem of a game. First game I beat on Switch. Will probably download this immediately after work.
Re: Cadence of Hyrule Is What You Get When You Cross Crypt of the NecroDancer With Zelda
I passed on the original, but was tempted. I will not be able to resist the Ocarina's call, as it were.

WHAT A NINDIE!
Re: Google Reveals Stadia, Its Vision Of A Cloud Gaming Future
@NotTelevision I have made this point to several people today. Completely agree. Steam is also in for a potential world of hurt.

Continuing to churn through the one-player side of Smash; but also polishing off Nihilumbra.

This looks like a nice relaxing-yet-challenging puzzler to unwind with. And the price is right!
Re: Talking Point: Is The Remake Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Worth $60?
(I’m exaggerating, but it’s at least worth a gold rupee.)
Re: Talking Point: Is The Remake Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Worth $60?
I’d pay pretty much anything for this game. I can’t wait.
Re: Japan Got A Few Extra Games In Its February Nintendo Direct
That baseball game looks pretty fun, actually (says one of the like 7 people to buy Super Baseball 2020; and one of the 3 people to actually love it).
Re: Game Boy Classic Zelda: Link's Awakening Is Getting Remastered For Switch
THIS WAS THE GAME I MOST WANTED REMASTERED!!!!!!!!!! I somehow missed this as a kid. Wow. It would be impossible to be more excited!

Re: Rumour: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Is Taking To The Skies On Switch
Who wants Skyward Sword to Switch?!?! That is as close as 3D Zelda comes to a mediocre title (i.e., yes, still great, but markedly less so!).
Please either make a new game or port a different Zelda instead. Such as a collection of all top-down Zeldas or MM HD.
Re: What Happened To Spyro: Reignited Trilogy Coming To The Switch?
Definitely would play on Switch.
