Re: The Wonderful 101: Remastered Secures May Release On Nintendo Switch

patbacknitro18

@Kalmaro Oh no yea this happened WAY too fast. If it was just a port of the game then this would be reasonable. But this isn't just a port, it's a remaster which has to find a gameplay work around due to the WiiU gamepad, then they have to work on ALL of the new systems they're porting too (Which is not a simple task btw), then they have to upgrade the visuals and assets (Which even though its mostly reused assets its still a time-consuming process), and then after all of that they now have new features and modes to implement thanks to the Kickstarter goals. And if you think thats a walk in the park then keep in mind the new modes are 2D platformers, a complete contrast to rest of the game. Meaning those new modes will have to be designed differently from the rest of the game, needing entirely new code to implement, and possibly even a ton of new assets. And keep in mind a game needs roughly a month in advance for approval and the other technical setups. So by this logic, they would only have 2 months to do ALL OF THAT!!! (Also keep in mind that Platinum games isn't a very big studio, but they have several games in production right now stretching across their few dev teams.) So this game has to have been in production for a while, atleast a couple more months. Its highly unlikely they just started working on the game after the stretch goals were reached, they wouldn't be able to make a solid release date in so very little time.

Re: Samurai Jack Is Back In Battle Through Time, Releases On Switch This Summer

patbacknitro18

@Heavyarms55 Oh yea they used the switch to Adult Swim to its full advantage. I wouldn't say they went too far with it, many of the episodes are set up like the earlier seasons episodes. But there are a few episodes that definitely push that more adult rating. One of the big plot points of the 5th season is Jack contemplating Seppuku because, believing he failed everyone by losing his sword and just wanting it all to end.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct No Longer Mentions One-Time-Only Save Data Recovery

patbacknitro18

@Capt_N Um......this IS a workaround. Preventing cheating is not at all an easy task, considering that you didn't provide a solution and only demanded results proves how difficult it is to come up with one. Not to mention, sadly, cheating prevention methods affect everyone, not just the cheaters. Consider it the cheaters spoiling the fun for everyone. And any solution that gives the players the benefit of the doubt, obviously ignores the fact that the solution is a cheating prevention method to begin with.

Re: Warface Dev Sees The "Lack Of Online Shooters" On Switch As A Huge Opportunity

patbacknitro18

This game is another generic FPS, but honestly, it might be what the Switch needs right now. The Switch doesn't have many CoD like games, and what few we do have run terrible or have terrible online functionality. So an ok playing, decent working online, CoD like game is definitely something the Switch could use now. If the devs play their cards right this could be a big hit for Switch users to fill in that void that CoD has left open. Though they better capitalize on it quick, because once the game gets some good success you know Activision will be greasing their sleazy, hairy neanderthal caveman-like, greedy palms and get right onto making a switch port of whatever CoD project they got goin.

Re: Jet Set Radio Inspired Parkour Game Hover Is Receiving A PM Studios Physical Release

patbacknitro18

This is actually the very first game I received a review code for. It's actually a really great game. Solid controls, massive levels, designed with a lot of great parkour in mind. There's only 2 issues with the game. 1. It's designed more like an MMO than a single-player game. Which makes sense as the game was more so intended to be an online focused game. Infact you can choose to play the game entirely online, which will let you roam around the levels with other players and even play missions with them. But the thing is, as a single-player experience the mission system is a bit of a let down due to this. The second issue is in the game's own unique sports game, which looks neat at first but the controls are incredibly wonky. The sport game missions are by far the most difficult and tedious in the game. Each time it's a barrier that keeps you from making any progress due to how hard it is to actually control. But with both of those in mind, it's still a fun game. And I cannot praise the controls enough, it feels amazing too play. So even if the missions disappoint you, you will have hours of fun alone skating around those massive open levels getting into all kinds of shenanigans.

@Golin32 The future of the DBS anime is very uncertain right now. Its assumed the reason the anime is taking so long to return is to give the manga time to stay ahead, since previously the DBS manga was actually far behind the anime. The Tournament of Power in the anime was wrapping up during the time the manga was wrapping up the Goku Black Arc. This was done by Toriyama giving Toei a rough script of the events in each arc, which the anime would take liberties filling in the gaps. As of right now though Toriyama is working on a script for the next DBS movie, so while he's busy on that it doesn't seem like the Moro arc is going to be animated for a bit.

Re: PlatinumGames Unsure Astral Chain Will Remain Exclusive To Switch, Ultimately It's "Nintendo's Call"

patbacknitro18

I know its bad to say that I don't want this game ported, but after what happened at launch those review bombers shouldn't be rewarded. Their logic was to have the game critically bomb on Switch, so it would be forced to be ported. I know a good chunk of people who would want the game ported didn't do such things, but an awful lot of people did. People need to learn that maybe anger and hate isn't the way to get change, but kindness and support

Re: Rare Explains How It Worked With Nintendo On Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Banjo-Kazooie DLC

patbacknitro18

@PikaPhantom you can not seriously think Cuphead, a 2D model translated to 3D, would work better than Steve, an already existing 3D model which can be scaled appropriately fit the fighter. Yes it is entirely possible, in fact its even more so after Cuphead and Sans got their costumes considering they have worst proportions for Mii Fighter than Steve, yet they managed to make them work. Steve would fit perfectly, make him a Sword fighter and either give him his Diamond Picaxe or a Diamond Sword, a Picaxe would work perfectly fine giving the much stranger variety of weapons other Mii costumes use, like the Yiga clan outfit. So yea, Steve would fit perfectly as a mii fighter costume.

Re: Here's Another Monster-Battling RPG That's After Pokémon's Crown

@Octane the Krawl enemies are fine because there was a ton of variety with them, plus they were very challenging enemies. Not to mention the boss fights were amazing themselves. I think the only time you got to fight other spectrobes was against the Final boss of Origins, but I think his Spectrobe was a Krawl hybrid. But yea Origins wasnt perfect, but it was far better than it had any reason to be. Had they fixed its minor issues and improved some aspects of it, it could have been an amazing series. Thats why im desperate for a modern game.

Re: New ESRB Rating Suggests The Wii U Isn't Done With New Games Just Yet

patbacknitro18

@Zeldafan79 Also by far the biggest mistake of the WiiU.....Wii Sports Club was not a packaged game. The president of Nintendo fought so hard to get Wii Sports to be packaged with every wii, and it was a massive success. So I have no idea why they didn't do the same with Wii Sports club, or why they turned it into a subscription service. Especially now that you can no longer play it since they shut down the service.

Re: New ESRB Rating Suggests The Wii U Isn't Done With New Games Just Yet

patbacknitro18

@Zeldafan79 Actually a big reason for the Wiiu's failure is in its marketing. At the time of launch Nintendo was not clear as for what the WiiU was. Most people assumed it was an add-on for the Wii given its name. Also a incredibly poor move is the severe lack of games for the system. When it launched it supported almost no big 1st party games, with them dribbling out big games once every while. We didn't start getting a ton of games till 2014, 2 years too late. Thankfully Nintendo learned a valuable lesson and sunk a ton of time and money into marketing the Switch. And Nintendo focused on putting out a ton of big named games for it at launch, and ever strongly afterwards.

Re: New ESRB Rating Suggests The Wii U Isn't Done With New Games Just Yet

patbacknitro18

Nintendo was right in that in the future the WiiU will be remembered fondly like the Gamecube (Also a failure like the WiiU) Still its great to see many of the WiiU classics get ported to the Switch for those who never got to experience them. Heck Mario kart 8 Deluxe is still selling like hotcakes. Glad to hear 2 more WiiU ports are coming this year, my bets are on Pikmin 3 and Starfox Zero
