Last weekend, Activision revealed its next Grand Prix for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled would be the final one. Now, in its latest blog post, Beenox has revealed what exactly we can expect from this event.
This grand finale adds the new track, Drive-Thru Danger, three new karts (the Void Manta, Velo Chopper, and Galactic Cruiser), new skins for the following characters: Spyro, Koala Kong, the Nitro Squad and King Chicken (via the Pit Stop), and introduces the new racer and self-proclaimed ruler of the galaxy, Emperor Velo. There are also new time trials to tackle.
Below is a look at all of the new content coming to this update:
The Gasmoxia Grand Prix launches into orbit on 20th February. Keep in mind, the race will continue on well after this. See our previous post for more information.

I like this game.... I just suck at it. Need to play more, I guess!
Just need Mario Kart, make this game f2p please, it's not worth the price.
@rockodoodle After I beat the first 5 adventure mode races on easy, I was good enough to do regular difficulty adventure mode. You can do time trials to learn the tracks, too. (I've said this on NL before. So forgive me if you've seen me say it before)
I'm so glad i gave CTR a chance.
Microtransactions? Naw, I'll pass.
@BloodyMurder Except you don't need to use real money for any of the items, but you do you.
@Woomy_NNYes yeah, I think I can do it. It's just that it seems hard after I have all the tracks memorized on mk8 and to an extent on Sonic All Stars Racing. Just need to become more familiar with the tracks
@mesome713 they have it in sale quite often for $24.... I would say it is easily worth that....
@mesome713 lol You are so wrong nearly every comment you make. Maybe you should stop embarrassing yourself?
@rockodoodle It was worth full price for me. Don't regret not waiting at all. Also paid for 16 quids worth of the coins recently cause I wanted to put some money in to a well deserved and loved project. Now will easily finish getting every item available this final GP.
Space Spyro looks super adorable, but the helmet design... why is there a cut out for his nose? I hope he doesn't actually try to go into space in it! xD
I've managed top 5% in all the other GPs so far, so if I can get the champion decal for this one, I'll have the full set! I've enjoyed CTR way more than I ever anticipated I would, much much more than MK8.
Was hoping for a second track this GP to finish off the Final cup but nevermind! I know they're releasing some content after the final GP so hope for a surprise track with a few more characters. Will be such a big amount of content when all is done.
@HipsterDashie Same here! Have you managed Oxide ghosts yet? I have to Platinum every time trial but that's all I have left, along with this GP content.
I hope that from now on Beenox will pay attention to all the annoying technical issues, and fix them.
@mesome713 I don’t know why I’m bothering tbh, but..... why... is it not worth the price when it’s a fully featured kart game with heaps of content.. and they’ve been continuously adding free content since it came out. Please.. do tell why it should be free.. sheesh.
I was really hoping the Twin Parrots from Twinsanity would be added in. This greatly disappoints me.
@patbacknitro18
It seems the only difference, after this GP, will be that they'll introduce new karts and characters, without new tracks and all the nitro bar stuff. So there's still some hope.
@Jayofmaya Yup! Got all ghosts and have unlocked Digital N. Tropy, and have also got the paint job for all Platinum Relics (man now THAT was super hard). I will be interested to see what the difficulty level is for the Emperor Velo ghosts. I just have a few bits left to mop up in the Pit Stop outside of this GP content, then I'm done!
@HipsterDashie Damn, you got the platinum Relic paint job? Nice work!
@HipsterDashie Come and do mine hahaha My hand hurt after Oxide's ghosts so have been reluctant to even start Platinums. Maybe some time after this GP. Also, I don't wanna think about Velo times, it makes brain sad.
@Jayofmaya yeah, I think it would be worth it too. I didn't get it at launch bc I had Sonic Team Racing and other games to keep me busy. When it came down to $24, I was all over it.
Since this will be the last post on this, anyone who doesn't have the game and is bordering, buy it! We have 150,000 players a month atm on Switch but that will likely drop a little when the GPs are over and a few months have passed. So much content and it will all be available to get in the game soon. Just play online on weekends and the new challenges after this GP will net coins to get all the items easily. In fact, makes it all worth it for joining the online races! Has a match up system if you are not skilled at the game, too. See you online!
@rockodoodle You should keep doing the challenges when this Grand Prix is over so you can build coins easily and eventually get all the items from the Pit Stop. Also, if you want to know how I got good I completed Adventure on Normal, then raced online for a while (probably a couple hours 3 days a week), watched a couple of youtube videos for technique then beat Tropy time trials and within a month (playing on weekends) I could do Oxide's ghosts. I usually don't do hard games so you should be able to do it easier if you like challenges. I have yet to totally master the mechanics but I consistently come in 3rd at least online now and also hold speed through most tracks.
@HipsterDashie, @Jayofmaya, or anybody else, I haven't beat Oxide's ghost on MegaMix, yet. After you come out of the tunnel, in the last quarter of the track, I never figured out a consistent line through that valley, and kept hitting those paint/landmines. Did you guys stay to the right or left through that area? Curious what worked for you.
@Raccoonius
Activision paid PR alert
@Woomy_NNYes Currently working through Oxide's ghosts on bonus tracks now there's a Decal for it. Only done Twilight Tour so far, but when I get to Megamix I'll see what I do and let you know!
@Jayofmaya Hahah Oh, s***, you haven't tried Megamix Oxide ghost yet? haha. Oh, it's a piece of cake. You just need to have a pulse and push the gas (lying out my a**, there) I don't know how much you've raced Megamix, but now I'm really curious to hear what you think of Megamix Oxide.
It's a great game offline. It just doesn't have the polish of Mario Kart. Online is good when you can actually get into a race, but I simply don't have the patience for the disconnects or loops that force you to log out and back in.

@Woomy_NNYes Hey, bit late but I managed it! I found that sticking to the left of the rock pillar was the only way. Then no more boosts until after passing the second mine where you can get away with 1 then do another on the way up to the last mines/the finish line and 1 more after. You can scrape keeping blue fire even on fairly poor reserves. Good luck if you haven't already beaten it
@Jayofmaya heck yeah. Thanks for the tip. That's what i was looking for!
@mesome713 Really ? Free to Play? thats a bit harsh. A team of imo good developers took time from their life to create this. you want to play but you refuse to feed them? Gross. I can get complaining about the price of a game situationally but demanding f2p (of any game, really) is just scummy man screw you xD. you try developing a game for free and tell me how it goes. get back on runescape you pleb.
