If you were as surprised as we were when Warframe was announced for the Nintendo Switch, you'll probably be equally as surprised to hear Lotus – the mysterious figure from the popular free-to-play third-person title – has now been added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a spirit.
It's all for a new spirit event, which will start this Friday on the 28th of February and will run for a total of five days – meaning there's plenty of time to collect all of the spirits, including this new one. Some of the other video game series represented in this event include Super Mario, Pokémon, and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Will you be booting up Smash Bros. Ultimate to grab this new spirit? Leave a comment below.

Great.... one more to the collection... I'll be there
Hmm, could this be hinting a Warframe rep. For Smash, maybe?
@SeantheDon29 - If it is not Octavia doing Sandstorm, then I don't want it!
@Paraka To be honest, I think Loki, Rhino and Excalibur would be more likely candidates since you mostly see them on all promotional material for Warframe. Though, making some of the Warframes and even The Stalker as alt. outfits for whoever the rep. was wouldn't be a bad idea either.
@SeantheDon29 Nope, remember that DLC characters get their own unique spirit boards. So any character being added as DLC wouldn't have a spirit board beforehand, they would save those spirits for the DLC spirit board.
@patbacknitro18 Hmm, good point. Though, I do think it's possible, if Excalibur were the representative to get alt skins of his Umbra, Prime forms and the Stalker since they both look very similar.
Wait WHAAAAT?? Really? <3
@SeantheDon29 - If we're being serious, if Warframe had something I would out money on Ash or Ember, with Prime variant alts.
@patbacknitro18 - But is one simple spirit really going to denounce an entire set of OTHER spirits that would associate with said character?
Theoretically, Lotus is just that. As Warframe has enough beyond that, and nothing has shown either way that Spirits deconfirm things.
Space Mom? Okay, didn't see this one coming. Somewhere Reb is laughing maniacally...
@Yorumi While this is true, Warframe's twitter posted an image of the spirit itself and well...it can be enhanced. I think we know what the enhanced form is.
@SeantheDon29 @patbacknitro18 @Paraka
I think the fact that there was no Spirit event centered around Three Houses supports the fact that post-launch Spirits deconfirm...for a slot on the roster. I wouldn't be surprised to see Warframe Mii costumes in the future, if nothing else.
Regarding discussion on Warframes being dlc...I don't really see it, as none of the lead warframes strike me as DLC content except maybe Mag and Volt. But I could see them being Mii costumes...especially Excalibur/Umbra. That would be sweet. A "This is Who You Are" track thrown in wouldn't hurt either.
I'm surprised they didn't add Excalibur as a spirit as well.
With spirits like this, ya never know what could end up in Smash.
By a show of hands, who's a Nintenno here? Raises hand
Neat! It's rare to see more than her head in the original game, too.😄
I'm nowhere too fast in Warframe (still on Saturn and the boss is a headache), so I wonder if the level 99 enhancement will feature any spoilers.
@Yorumi spoilers!
I nominate Untitled Goose Game for next spirits?
Oh Hi there Infinite!
Its not just one spirit we are getting, if you pay close attention to that screenshot is actually a two-for-one spirit since it can be enhanced at lvl.99
I'm gonna aim for two of that same spirit so i can have one of each lol (cause why not?)
@PikaPhantom - That's not evidence to fact, just supports a theory.
I mean, it's a fair theory, but there isn't anything that suggests "Oh this is added here, therefore nowhere else." I am willing to bet some early, on-launch spirits weren't foreseen to be chosen for a second pass at the time of their addition.
I am not saying I expect Warframe, I didn't even think them appearing in-game was even remotely a thing. Just saying, I doubt Nintendo is going to say, "Add Shantae," and then suddenly get thwarted with the fact she's already a spirit.
@Paraka I agree that anything in the base game is fair game for Volume 2, and I'm still hoping for a few characters from that. I just think anything added post-launch is relatively unlikely - some of the earlier ones because they're unlikely candidates anyways (like the Labo VR spirits or Peachette) and the later ones because of Volume 2.
