Re: CD Projekt Signs New Deal With The Witcher Author Andrzej Sapkowski

patbacknitro18

@Emob Its not that he hates the Witcher games specifically, he just doesn't like Video games in general. Infact when he was offered to sell the rights for a video game, he gladly did it and thought that he made a steal as thought so very little about the gaming market. Then when he saw that the Witcher games were doing massively well, he started throwing a fit demanding that he should get royaltys on the games, despite the fact that he was paid in cash for the rights and back then he was fully satisfied with them. He has sued them multiple times, everyone a failure, trying to get some of the Witcher video game money. It seems like the devs finally caved in and decided to make an extended deal for him, which possibly the writer will help contribute for the games in the future now that he see's the value of the gaming market.

Re: Screenwriter Of Pokémon: The First Movie To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

patbacknitro18

@Kalmaro Ash sacrificed himself for Pikachu after he saw him getting severely hurt. Ash also felt like it was his fault since he threw a rock at the first Sparrow, but they went after Pikachu instead. But before then Ash was treating Pikachu like an object, telling Pikachu he had to obey him as his master. Ash risking his life to protect Pikachu was a good start for his character. But again he was still lazy, mean tempered, etc. Funny enough Ash's laziness is what made him lose the first Pokemon Leauge. And how Ash lost the first leauge is by far the most genius way to make him lose. And don't get me started on how Ash reacted to it. He wasn't mad, he wasn't sad, he was just depressed. He wasn't lashing out on anyone else, he fully blammed himself and just wanted to be alone and sulk. That was fantastically done as well.

Re: Screenwriter Of Pokémon: The First Movie To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

patbacknitro18

@Euler At first Ash was going to tell Pikachu to finish Onix, but then Ash said that his conscience was weighing him down and he couldn't go through with it, only to realize it was Brocks siblings climbing on him and begging him not to hurt Onix anymore. Brock told them to leave, so it would have been a legitimate win on Ash's part. But Ash ended up forfeiting since he saw how much they cared for Brock and Onix, and winning that way would not have gotten him any closer to being a Pokemon Master.

Re: Screenwriter Of Pokémon: The First Movie To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

patbacknitro18

@Kalmaro Ash was "Kindof" goodie, but that was after progressing as a character. When he first met Pikachu he treated him like an object and not his partner. Ash ruined Mistys Bike and was completely unsympathetic about it. Ash was willing to cheat Brock in order to win, and so on. OG Ash was rude, lazy, mean tempered, and in a way it was perfect. It helped Ash grow as a character, and the more touching moments felt genuine. Like when Ash was trapped in the Ice cave and he wanted all his pokemon to stay inside their pokeballs so they wouldn't freeze to death like him, but they all came out anyways and risked freezing with him. If Ash had been a saint goodie two shoes that moment wouldn't have been as impactful, it truly showed how much Ash had progressed as a character from day 1.

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild And Pokémon GO Feature In TIME's Best Games Of The Decade List

patbacknitro18

This list doesn't make sense by any account. Is it by most popular games? Because I'm fairly certain Undertale would have made it on this list due to its massive popularity. Is it by the games that generated the most money? Because there are a ton of other mobile games that surpassed Pokemon go in terms of profit. Is it by fan favorite games? Still missing a ton of very popular fan favorites that would go on this list above others listed. It just seems like this list was made by them pulling in the janitor and asking him to quickly say the first 10 games he could think of. That's the only way this list would make any sense.

Re: Sakurai Discusses "Drawing Light, Not Objects" In Final Famitsu Column of 2019

patbacknitro18

@Pod its Ridley at his most Ridley. You litteraly can not get anymore Ridley than how he looks. If so then i want to see what youd consider a good Ridley design. Because hes the closest youll get. I can understand your opinion of not liking him, but to claim its his most boring form yet when he is a straight up 3D model of his original design, yea no I honestly fail to see how he is anything less than Ridley.

Re: Sakurai Discusses "Drawing Light, Not Objects" In Final Famitsu Column of 2019

patbacknitro18

@Pod the design of ultimate is Litteraly an upgrade from Smash WiiU. Hell it reuses a ton of assets from WiiU. Also calling it the worst looking game in the series doesnt work well when you can compare the melee stages to their visually enhanced counterparts in Ultimate. Also what do you mean Ridley looks terrible, hes the best hes ever looked. If you mean he has an ugly design, then yes Sakurai perfectly nailed Ridley in every way. Ridley is a grotesque monstrosity, he isnt meant to look "Good" also you cant expect Ridley to look like he came from the same series as Animal Crossing. Sakurai perfectly nailed his look, as well as everyone else like K Rool and Simon.

Re: Sakurai Discusses "Drawing Light, Not Objects" In Final Famitsu Column of 2019

patbacknitro18

@diwdiws Yes he absolutely is. Sakurai knows how to push a system to its limits. Go play Kirbys Adventure, its by far one of the highest quality NES games. Then you have Super Smash Brothers Brawl, a game that pushed the Wiis limits so hard that it wouldnt even run on older Wii models, so Nintendo had people send in their Wiis free of charge in order to upgrade them to be able to play the game. Sakurai knows his stuff.

Re: Hamster Is Bringing VS. Balloon Fight To The Switch eShop Next Week

patbacknitro18

I would kindof love if Nintendo made a modern-day Balloon flight platformer. Where you can navigate stages using your balloons as a lift, and having your balloons work as extra hits. If you run out of balloons, a single hit can kill you, with the game allowing you to stock up on around 5 balloons or so. It could lend itself to some creative platforming.

Re: You Can Now Dress Up As Sothis In Fire Emblem: Three Houses

patbacknitro18

@Zeraki I believe male Byleth is the poster child for this game. Similar to how female Corrin was the poster child for Fire Emblem Fates. I believe with each new game they'll be swapping which gender the Custom character is featured more, just like how Male Robbin was featured more for Fire Emblem Awakening.

Re: Nintendo Shares Spooky New Details About The Multiplayer DLC Coming To Luigi's Mansion 3

patbacknitro18

@BenAV Then why specifically call it the multiplayer packs, and not just refer to it as standard DLC? Normally this naming convention is used to differentiate DLC packs. Such as Mario Rabbids Challenge Packs vs its Story DLC. Obviously if Story DLC is coming then it wouldn't be announced for a while, it usually takes about a year after release to announce a big DLC like that. But the fact that its specifically called the multiplayer pack makes me hopeful some DLC single player expansion is in the works for the game.

Re: Nintendo Shares Spooky New Details About The Multiplayer DLC Coming To Luigi's Mansion 3

patbacknitro18

Since this is referred to as the "Multiplayer" packs, does that suggest that a new Single Player Expansion Pack will arrive afterwards? Given that a ton of mainline Nintendo games has gotten story DLC, (Splatoon, BOTW, Mario and Rabbids, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, FE 3 Houses) I'm very hopeful the fact that its called the Multiplayer pack, specifically, means new story DLC is on the way.

Re: Pokémon GO Is One Of The Top Grossing Games Of This Year And The Past Decade

patbacknitro18

The fact that Pokemon Go is on these lists at all shows how big of an achievement it was given how late it was released in the decade. If the game had the same momentum it had when it launched I guarantee it would have ranked number 1 on most of those lists. But I don't think they could have done anything to keep everyone's attention. Like all fads it got overhyped for a few months, then everyone moved onto the next trend. Atleast a good chunk of the playerbase stayed.

Re: The Witcher Netflix Series Definitely Won't Be Adapting The Video Game Storylines

patbacknitro18

Ok on one hand, this is good news as its sticking purely to the source material. But on the other, its never bad to look at separate adaptation and take notes on what it had improved upon. An example of this is the Dragonball Super Broly movie during the Bardock story. Toriyama didn't make the Bardock special, so for years it was non-canon. Toriyama then went on to make Dragonball Minus, however it didn't focus on Bardock and fans didn't like the alterations made. Then when it came to making the Broly movie, Toriyama wanted to bring his Dragonball Minus story to the big screen however he kept the feedback about Dragonball Minus in mind so he looked at the Bardock special and took more inspiration from that. And, for the most part, him taking inspiration from the Bardock special improved upon aspects of the Dragonball Minus Story. The same could apply here, where they could look at the games and see how they improved upon the story. Perhaps then creating a story that perfectly balances the source material, and the changes the games made that improved upon it. Making a perfectly balanced show.

Re: Birdo Joins Mario Kart Tour's Holiday Event As A Playable Character

patbacknitro18

@Grumblevolcano Also what do you mean Luigis Mansion 3 was a WiiU game, there's no way that game took 4-6 years to make. Especially since games being developed exclusively for Switch, like Mario Odyssey, had already finished and came out. LM3 had to have been put into development after the Switch was out, you don't expect me to believe it was in development before Mario Odyssey, before Mario Rabbids, Before Yoshis Crafted World, before Kirby Star Allies, and the list goes on.

Re: Birdo Joins Mario Kart Tour's Holiday Event As A Playable Character

patbacknitro18

@Grumblevolcano You're right, Twilight Princess was delayed to the Wii, which the Wii also got a second Zelda game in the form of Skyward Sword. The Switch got BOTW delayed to it, and not its getting BOTW 2 made for it. Which again furthur shows that Nintendo can have an entry of a series be a launch title, yet down the line make a new entry of the series for the same system.

Re: Birdo Joins Mario Kart Tour's Holiday Event As A Playable Character

patbacknitro18

@Grumblevolcano Again Mario Kart wii is still selling well, and was still selling amazingly when MK8 released. Not to mention the WiiU has already deemed a massive failure before MK8 came out, so by your logic, Nintendo shouldn't have even bothered making Mario kart 8. It's not about the sales figures alone, as those do not dictate what projects get made. Remember that Luigis Mansion 2 came out during the year of Luigi, which was the worst financial year Nintendo has had, it was an absolutely horrific time period for the company. However, they still went on to make Luigis Mansion 3 despite the horrificly bad year 2 released in.

Re: Birdo Joins Mario Kart Tour's Holiday Event As A Playable Character

patbacknitro18

@Grumblevolcano Thing is, Nintendo has never re-released a Mario Kart before. Every system up till now has had brand new Mario karts, but never a port. And since MK8 is about 5 years old now, perhaps they are beginning to look into a new Mario Kart installment. (And I know MK8 is still selling like hot cakes, but so has Mario Kart Wii for the past 10 years. Not to mention that almost everyne and their grandma owns MK8 Deluxe by now. So releasing a brand new title down the line would rake in money from people who already bought Mk8, but are hyped for the next experience.

Re: Fire Emblem: Three Houses Wins Award For Best Strategy Game Of 2019

patbacknitro18

@Kalmaro Give 3 Houses credit that you only needed to buy the 1 game to experince all of the story. And having multiple branching paths for the story does add to its immense replay value. Fates should have just been 1 whole game with multiple branching paths like 3 Houses. But even then that doesn't save it from its terrible writing.
