If you didn't get around to seeing Pokémon The Movie: The Power of Us when it was released last year, on New Year's Day, you'll be able to settle in on the couch with some snacks and enjoy this anime adventure film starring Ash, Pikachu, and friends on Netflix.
Here's the official announcement from The Pokémon Company:
Ash and Pikachu's 21st big-screen adventure, Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us, will be available to stream on Netflix starting January 1, 2020.
This particular adventure follows the iconic duo as they travel to Fula City during its annual Wind Festival, which celebrates the Legendary Pokémon Lugia.
Here, they meet a wide variety of characters including a young athlete, compulsive liar, shy researcher, bitter old woman and a little girl with a big secret. A series of threats then endangers the festival and it's up to the odd bunch to save the day. The mythical Pokémon Zeraora also makes an appearance.
Will you be booting up Netflix to watch this movie on New Year's Day? Have you already seen it? Tell us down below.

This wasn’t a bad film actually, the animation is great!
I saw this film in a theater a year ago, it's one of the best Pokemon movies! I love that this film focuses on the other characters as much as they focus on Ash.
I thought this was a great film because they effectively created an old fashioned disaster movie with Pokémon in the middle of it.
Sure it gets a bit cheesy, but then you don't watch a Pokémon movie with your kids expecting Oscar winning drama.
Very cool! I have a 13 year old Poke-fan son and I bought him 3 Pokemon movie DVDs for Christmas, plus nearly 40 booster packs of cards. We've been watching the old Indigo League series, so we will definitely give this one a watch! Thanks for the info
Don't you mean New Decade's Day?
Already got the Japanese collectors edition of the movie. Wonder why they decided to make the English title a parody of the title of the second movie.
How did they do the gag with the liar in English?
IMO This is the best pokemon movie by far. It follows the basic formula most have, but there is proper character development for many characters. I think it also benefits from Ash having NO companions with him (aside Pikachu). Really good one
@Mana_Knight By no companions I mean, regular people we know, they are one off people he meets there. Yet, somehow get developed more than some of the bland ones he got in the series.
I was surprised at how good the movie was when Pokemon movies had really gone down hill.
I thought this film was great - perhaps my favourite since Lucario the Wave-Guiding Hero.
I haven't seen it yet, the other one left me with a bad feeling, the Ho-Oh one. And I didn't particularly care for Pikachu talking.
The best time I had watching it was during the credits showing all the old friends again, it was kinda sad.
