As you might recall, Luigi's Mansion 3 is receiving additional DLC next year. Today, Nintendo has rolled out a press release revealing more information about what to expect from this paid content.
This special multiplayer pack includes part one and part two and will not be available for individual purchase, but can be pre-purchased right now on the eShop for $9.99 or your regional equivalent. The first pack arrives on 30th April and the second pack will follow on 31st July.
Here's the full rundown, courtesy of the Nintendo press release:
Luigi’s Mansion 3 Multiplayer Pack Part 1 will arrive by April 30, 2020. The DLC includes three new mini-games for the multiplayer ScreamPark mode.* It also introduces three new outfits for Luigi with matching floor themes and new themed ghosts in the cooperative ScareScraper mode. And as a special bonus for those who purchase the DLC, players will receive an in-game Polterpup light called the Flashlight Type-P. Players can use this during Story Mode or ScareScraper.
Luigi’s Mansion 3 Multiplayer Pack Part 2 will launch by July 31, 2020, with additional content and features for both ScreamPark and ScareScraper modes. There will be three more new mini-games for ScreamPark mode, as well as three new ScareScraper outfits with matching floor themes and themed ghosts.
Below are some screens of part one:

Did I see a DJ Luigi reference?
You did! You did! 😁
"Part 1" Oh boy, more incomplete games. Woo.
Since this is referred to as the "Multiplayer" packs, does that suggest that a new Single Player Expansion Pack will arrive afterwards? Given that a ton of mainline Nintendo games has gotten story DLC, (Splatoon, BOTW, Mario and Rabbids, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, FE 3 Houses) I'm very hopeful the fact that its called the Multiplayer pack, specifically, means new story DLC is on the way.
I just want a Hidden Mansion/hard mode thing...gimme. TwT
@KingBowser86 Its not incomplete though. Luigis Mansion 3 came out a fully complete game, this is just additional DLC expanding upon the multiplayer aspects. This is how DLC is done right.
Worth it for the disco Luigi alone!
These look interesting, however I think I'm going to wait for some video I can view before I decide to purchase it.
@patbacknitro18 Yeah, that's Nintendo's line verbatim.
Looks pretty neat
Aww I would love those costumes in the single player game.
@patbacknitro18 You might be reading a little too much into the name I think. I think it's called multiplayer DLC just because it's multiplayer DLC and that doesn't really make it any more likely that single player DLC is on the way. All we really know is, at the very least, there's probably no single player DLC that they're ready to announce for a fair while, or they probably would have done that at the same time as they seem to like laying out everything that's coming well ahead of time.
Too bad i almost never play multiplayer... But even the online in this game is cool, a little difficult to go through but fun
Great for multiplayer players, but I hardly use that mode. Maybe they'll throw in a couple of extra floors in single mode for Halloween 2020 ?
Makes sense that Elvis Luigi is in a game about sucking up ghosts...
Might have to give this a pass unfortunately. I have pretty much moved on from LM3 and I didn't really play the multiplayer that much. If there is an additional hidden mansion or new floors or something, then I might get that, but otherwise I think I am done.
I don't know about you guys but a multiplayer only package sounds kind of lame to me
Because £50 for a game isn't enough.
Would love to play ScreamPark mini games online with friends, hope Nintendo allows that soon.
@BenAV From what NLG said they weren't going to do any Singleplayer DLC
@BenAV Then why specifically call it the multiplayer packs, and not just refer to it as standard DLC? Normally this naming convention is used to differentiate DLC packs. Such as Mario Rabbids Challenge Packs vs its Story DLC. Obviously if Story DLC is coming then it wouldn't be announced for a while, it usually takes about a year after release to announce a big DLC like that. But the fact that its specifically called the multiplayer pack makes me hopeful some DLC single player expansion is in the works for the game.
@Smash_kirby Source?
@patbacknitro18 It was mentioned when they originally announced they were doing multiplayer DLC
@Smash_kirby again source? Because if your referring to the DLC reveal there was nothing said about there not being any story DLC, it just focused on talking about this DLC. and if your referring to something else, i'd like a link to where they deconfirmed story DLC.
we would rather have story DLC but i don't know how they would be able to do that so this is better than nothing
@patbacknitro18 The initial announcement only mentions the multiplayer side of things. https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/09/luigis_mansion_3_receiving_paid_dlc_will_add_new_content_to_multiplayer_modes
I understood from their DLC announcement that no story content would be added. I’m extremely satisfied with the main game, but if they add a solo story I’ll buy that. I don’t have much opportunity to play couch co-op or online except the occasional Overwatch match, so I’ll pass on multiplayer content
Contrary to most users around here, I'm completely fine with the "will finish later" approach, which is what it amounts to for most detractors.
What I'm not fine with, however, is the possibility of this game gobbling up more precious Nintendo Direct space in the future, and I know it will be the case at least once throughout 2020.
can we get a $20 or $30 single player DLC expansion for Halloween 2020? with all new cosmetics/features but ALSO another 4-5 hours of story?
now it's confirmed that the next Nintendo Direct will touch on this DLC as well as Smash DLC #5
for all we know this paid multi-player DLC for Luigi's mansion is a hint that Nintendo is thinking about releasing Luigi's Mansion 1 and 2 on the switch.
so awsome just awsome.
@patbacknitro18 Is there something wrong with describing what you're releasing in its name? If you want to better grab the attention of your intended audience, you accurately tell them what you're offering in as short a way as possible while not being ambiguous so that authors can toss it into a headline easily. Also, so your intended audience doesn't get annoyed at having to read an entire article just to find out anything about the DLC. It's easier for word of mouth, too.
By your logic, Smash's Fighter Pass would be renamed to "standard DLC," which is completely non-descript. We don't know what else Nintendo has in store for LM3, be it single player DLC, paid costumes, a new vacuum, new playable characters, so naming this "Multiplayer DLC" is exactly the right move.
@isellpixels where? can you show me I wanna see it!
@KingBowser86 just stop dude. You are trying too hard. The game is obviously fully fleshed out.
@RickRau5 No, I'm comparing modern releases (starting with Mario Golf: World Tour) and having the same volume of content but available for purchase, which USED to be unlockable after completing the main game or perhaps beating its Expert Mode. You're the one not trying hard enough, from my perspective. How dare you or anyone else tell me not to at least question a business practice (even if it turns out to not be true, at least ask, because you never know these days what with the gambling and all).
