All the Bolson-constructed houses were clearly designed to allow a player to design their own home using the cubic modules. While Link still can buy (or re-buy) his home in Hateno, I am disappointed that he couldn't build his own home from the ground up from those literal building blocks. Perhaps that's why ToTK is taking so long.
"While the Deluxe version on Switch would include all the DLC, add the missing Battle Mode" Did you know that you can use homebrew to bring the proper Battle maps to Wii U, and they work flawlessly?
Eastern Palace (LTTP) is a flawless example of how to build a first Zelda dungeon. It is deceptively linear, but you FEEL like you're in control exploring every room. Absolute pinnacle of 'first dungeon' in any Zelda game.
@KayFiOS It is a Warriors game at its core. That said, it has more in common with Three Houses than, for instance, Age of Calamity has with BoTW. You can choose class (moveset) for each character, assign special abilities, equip particular weapons and combat arts, and direct CPU-controlled units across the stage. The best thing to do is just play the free demo. Choose your favorite house and give it a whirl.
Seashore War, Pollyanna (I Believe in You) vocal version, the Super Mario Galaxy End Credits, Grandma's Theme (Wind Waker), Calamari Inkantation, Fire Emblem: Opera of Light, Star Fox Zero/Assault's Star Wolf theme, Reincarnation, and Ending and Credits (Link to the Past) deserve high placings as well.
Can we stop with twitter API calls like this? They don't load nice in every web browser. Just copy and paste the tweet contents, especially the images, and re-upload them.

I'm sure there is a market for physical copies of these games that were translated for the original console, but have only been released digitally on VC. Star Fox 2, Fire Emblem 1, and Earthbound Beginnings stand out as titles that people would certainly buy if made available. Then, of course, reprints of Earthbound, Fire Emblem for GC/Wii, Cubivore, and others would be nice too. Yes, I can play some of them on VC, but the Mother series ought to be available on original hardware.
@WoomyNNYes That's the case just about every field. Federal research firms like NASA hire disposable contractors instead of public servants. Universities try to load up on adjunct professors instead of tenure-track people. Even retail wants to hire seasonal employees rather than long-term people.
@its_luke_c It costs PTCI the same amount to print a highly desirable card or a Trick or Trade card. The entire business model of random packs sold at a premium that MIGHT contain something useful versus packs with fixed cards being low tier is a scummy business model, and it has been scummy since the first TCGs.
If they can sell the halloween packs with 120 cards for $15, which includes 40 shiny cards, why is anyone willing to spend $4+ per 10-card booster pack?
@TheBigK $5 on Wii U right now. @JimNorman, you completely left out the Wii U CAPCOM sale: RE4 Wii Edition, Ducktales: Remastered, RE: Umbrella Chronicles, D&D Chronicles of Mystara, & RE: Revelations (1 only, 2 never made it to Wii U) are on sale right now.
Sakurai seems to be the closest thing to a saint in the game development world. Paying his video staff to make these videos, not monetizing them at all, and just hoping to make new games in development more fun.
Congratulations Nintendolife! This is the worst article of all time! I hate it! For a serious note, Splatoon or Metroid Prime Hunters could easily be Nintendo's answer to Team Fortress 2 and be monetized in a similar manner.
I just want official NTSC printings of Earthbound Beginnings and Fire Emblem for the NES, and Star Fox 2 on SNES, Doshin the Giant on GCN, and the Cing sequels for DS & Wii. Also, Nintendo is missing out on money by not reprinting big ticket items like Earthbound, Cubivore, Fire Emblem for GC & Wii, and numerous Pkmn games. Limited Run has proved with numerous games that there is a market for open pre-orders for new printings on old hardware.
My first home console was a Gamecube, specifically the Platinum Gamecube bundled with Metroid Prime and the Metroid Prime 2 bonus disk. It did not come with a memory card, and the Memory Card 59 that came with Animal Crossing did not have enough room to store even Prime's 2 block save file, so I played through the Frigate Orpheon sequence quite a few times before I was finally gifted a 1019 card alongside Melee. Even then, it took a lot of slow progress over the next few years before I finally beat it.
@AlienX Another nice thing for EU games is they are frequently multi-language. Like Zion, I picked up Another Code R on a visit to Europe a few years back, but mine is certainly the German version. Pop it into the Wii U, homebrew around the region lock, and boom, it is in English. The most interesting one like that is Art Academy Atelier. I also have a German (based on the cover) physical copy of that Wii U game. When I use homebrew to bypass the region check, not only does it not load in German, the title screen actually says 'Art Academy Home Studio', (rather than Art Academy Atelier' as it appears when played on a UK Wii U) meaning that the full US localized version is on the disk!

Oof, the yen conversion is horrible now. I generally thought of 1 yen as $0.01 USD, but that's abysmal.
