Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy Library With Another Classic

luxoricious

Love this one! Played it back in the day on my 3DS.
When I was a kid I had DK Land 2, that is an almost exact port of DKC2, so I thought DK Land 1 was a port of DKC but not at all! It has many new enviroments that weren't present on any snes entry. It's something in between DKC1 and DKC2, so if you never played it give it a try guys. It's really good.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Will "Absolutely Be Getting An Update" On Switch, Says Ed Boon

luxoricious

I'm sure some things will be fix.
As long as the loading times are better than they are, I will be happy.
As someone said here, the game doesnt look bad at all while you are playing it. Sure it's no PS5 level but I'm sure everyone who got the Switch version knew that before buying it.
I play the hell out of MK11 on Switch and it was very enjoyable.

As long as the fix every bug here and there and the loading times doesnt feel so eternal, game will be still a great option for Switch

Re: Poll: Super Mario All-Stars Is 30 Years Old - Do You Prefer The NES Or SNES Versions Of The Classics?

luxoricious

I mean, getting my SNES as a child and playing All Stars after playing all those on the NES was amazing.
I didn't even know what it was, I remember I thought it was an all new Mario game. So figuring out it was all those games I loved but prettier (I didn't know what "remastered" was at that time), it blew my mind.

Now, as an adult, I do prefer the NES versions for the original Mario game, and The lost levels. Something about how Mario moves feels weird on my fingers, after playing so much the NES version.

But I do like 2 and 3 more, since you don't really need the agility of Mario that much like you need on the original Mario.

It's such a bit moment in gaming history for me, I can have the worst of days but I play any of those Marios and man, it just takes any sadness away.

Re: Nintendo Direct Showcase Confirmed For Tomorrow

luxoricious

@ThePizzaCheese my last home console was N64 and then the Switch. I missed all those years of gaming. I did have GBA, DS and 3DS though.
And I'm missing Galaxy 2 to complete having played all Mario games too (I also missed New Mario Wii but meh, I played all the others New Mario games so I think I'm not losing much).

Re: Review: Metroid Dread - Quite Possibly The Best Metroid Game Ever Made

luxoricious

Well I'm kind of late to the Metroid party, but I just finished it today and man, what a ride it was.
It was challenging enough but never impossible.
Those EMMI sections were amazing, even though a priori I thought those parts I would like less than the others. The music, the feeling, the sounds the EMMI made were so perfect and climatic, I was so nervous playing it but at the same time willing to kill them and it was SO rewarding getting to do that.

I love the Chozo fights too. Playing Samus was so great, her speed and overall control felt amazing. I did get frustrated a couple of times mixing ZR and L, and R with L, but after a few tries you kind of get used to it.

I finished it 100% in almost 13 hours (I did use some youtube research because some ammo was impossible to get (specially those were Samus must get speed than keep on getting it and not lose it to break some walls, those parts were a bigger challenge that most of the bosses).

Basically a perfect game and the perfect Metroid experience. I hope we get another 2D Metroid game sooner than later.

Re: New Sonic Frontiers Gameplay Lets The Blue Blur Show Off His Combat Skills

luxoricious

Well, I actually enjoyed this.
I'm sure there will be a proper explanation to why is Sonic in this island. And I don't get the negativity around this. These are justs gameplay clips, I'm sure the game won't be just running around breaking robots and stuff.

That description alone would fit Breathe of the wild, if you take away all the core desing about it.

So I'm not worry about Sonic, I bet this will turn out just fine.

Re: Feature: Which Is The Absolute Best Nintendo Console Generation?

luxoricious

I voted for N64 and GBC because I have so many memories with them. Even though I started off with NES like every 80s kid, something about GBC makes me feel so emotional about my childhood, I can't quite explain it. And no emulation makes me feel that way: I need to see every pixel in the screen (just like the picture you guys used to illustrate this).
I see those pixels and man, my heart burst in joy.

And N64 was simply so iconic in every level. Nothing will ever top the emotion I felt playing Mario 64 for the first time.
The joystick is so iconic too.

All that being said, I can't acknowledge the amazingness the Switch is. I'm enjoying these years so much with the Switch. (I did enjoy 3DS too but this is superior.)

Re: Sorry Folks, Shovel Knight Dig Has Been Delayed Until Next Year

luxoricious

Well yeah, we were kind of expecting that. They still have to release SK Pocket Dungeon, so I wasn't expecting Dig to be released this year.

So sad, can't believe it was announced on 2019.

SK is probably my favorite indie game ever. It was the game I played the most on 3DS, and I had a blast on Switch too.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online's N64 Games Need Some Work

luxoricious

I did notice the lack of music on Mario Kart 64.
But I restarted it and it came back. Sure it can be improved without having these issues.

And I wish they add remaping in the future. Playing DR Mario with the buttons and not be able to play with the stick its weird.
