@Lukeim64 - In the first Rush? Not sure I'm familiar with that! Will have to have a look for it this weekend (my wife and I STILL play the Rush series regularly).
@liveswired - Don't sleep on Rush 2 for N64. That's my favorite. It's a slight improvement over the original in every way.
@FinalFrog - Nice profile pic - LOVE Cuphead. And I'll definitely check out Munchables if I see it at the store. Never heard of it until today.
@shani - All good, dude!
@Shiryu - Yeah, I played a bunch of Red Steel 2, and it was no doubt a huge improvement. Also, I'll have a look at that RS article and see if it's something that would make sense for NL. If it is, I'll run it by Dom and see what's what.
@thesilverbrick - I prefer the animal bot vehicles in Excitebots over trucks, too. But shh. Don't tell anyone.
@Metroplex360 - Loved reading your post. Thanks for sharing!
@Shiryu Is that the original Red Steel on your list? Oh boy. I only recently played it and wrote a little something about it (never published the article, though). Long story short, that game and I did NOT get along.
@shani I'm sorry if you found the title misleading, but I thought it was as straightforward as possible. Your profile says you've owned every Nintendo home console from SNES to Wii U... I'm genuinely surprised you were unaware of Excite Truck for Wii!
Very, very happy to see so many positive comments here, and that many of you share a similar fondness for Excite Truck. Thanks for reading!
@WaveBoy Yep. Those red bars are what irritates me about Excitebots. Otherwise, that game is great, too. I actually love its playfulness and mini-games.
@impurekind I didn't connect with Epic Yarn like most people did. I tried multiple times, even beat the game, but it just didn't do much for me. Some great music, though.
@ap0001 Yeah, I really, REALLY want these games on the 3DS. I can already play them on my television through my NES or Wii. Still, I'm glad they're getting a bit more exposure by showing up on Wii U VC.
@ShikabaneHime13 I did experiment with different foods quite a bit, actually, but it never seemed to make much of a difference. Even when Yo-Kai reacted positively to the food I gave them, they very rarely offered their friendship.
This game looks very promising, actually, and I'm not all that familiar with the show; it doesn't hurt that the visuals are gorgeous. Yeah, I think I'm pretty sold on it.
@Spin I agree. I'd also like to see more creative pinball games in the future. It seems like there's so much potential to evolve pinball beyond a simple game of high-score chasing, yet there have been so few attempts to do something new. It would be cool if Zen Studios tried to tackle adventure-style tables in the future. They've done a fantastic job modernizing and adapting pinball for consoles.
@Kirk I completely agree. I hope Nintendo gets more ambitious with its next 2D Mario. There's a lot to learn from the recent Rayman and DKC games when it comes to organic level design and immersive, distinct visuals. I'd love to see similar things done with Mario in the future but with some sort of genuine mechanical evolution.
@Splatburst @Gauchorino Thanks for the compliments!
I may have to travel to Canada for one of these because they look delicious. Actually, I won't really do that, but in my head it seems like a good idea.
Um. Someone sell me that Captain Toad lamp for a reasonable price. Seriously, tell Nintendo to make it available for sale. That was the kind of thing I was saving my Club Nintendo coins for.
@Tops Thanks for the compliment. I'm actually a little bit shocked by how low some other critics are scoring Frontier, but it does back up my point that this game isn't going to be for everyone. Even though it's polished and harmless, there are design choices that will be a huge turnoff for certain types of gamers. I tried my best to convey that in this review.
@BlackSpy You're welcome. I hope you like it!
@Link506 So that really did backfire on ya, huh?
@Sir_Teabag Right on. Are you finding the dialog to be humorous, too? It's not often that I chuckle out loud at a video game, but this one got to me on a few occasions.
The lack of direction and communication in this game seriously bothers me, but outside of that, I love it. I just hate having to spend 30 minutes to an hour without a hint of where I need to be headed when there are tons options on the map.
I agree, @ThomasBW84. Super Metroid is an incredible game, one that I'd love to see updated and refreshed for 3D. I wish I could review it for Nintendo Life and give it a 10/10. Oh wait... I already did that.
I'm with everyone above saying they love StarTropics and wish it would return. It's one of my all-time favorites. Just look at the banner on my Twitter page!
Maybe it's because I played it right after Resogun, Velocity 2X, Stardust Delta and Geometry Wars 3, but I couldn't get into this game. Nothing about it seemed all that bad, just wasn't the right speed for me at the time. I'd say @moomootown got it right on the money here.
@Godlygamer It's way fun! I've sunk a lot of time into the Vita and PS4 versions. Like Tom said, be prepared for a steep challenge! There's a point when it REALLY ramps up.
@Aviator @AlexSora89 Truthfully, I don't know anything about Lady Gaga. I know she has a song that mentions paparazzi in the chorus, but that's about it. Sounds like I missed a prime opportunity for a punny tagline by being out of touch with pop music. Such a shame.
Will buy this for my home office, for sure! It's certainly not perfect, but given that it's a cartoonier representation of Link, that doesn't bother me much.
@NintyMan It was definitely a challenge, there's no question about that! Thankfully, I had Tom's help when I ran into any toad-blocks (sorry, couldn't resist).
Anyway, I hope the guide helps you to acquire those last few elusive gems.
