I downloaded Picross s8 yesterday so I can do the odd puzzle here and there.

I played for team rock on Saturday morning. I put a lot of hours into Splatoon 2 so will wait for the review to see if 3 is worth purchasing.

Great review. I have the enrolment edition arriving tomorrow. Can’t wait.

I have the original Game Boy game on 3DS from the virtual console. I’ve not booted up the 3DS in a while. I didn’t get too far but will revisit it on the switch if it reviews well.

I got the GameBoy bundled with Tetris and Turtles fall of the foot clan for my additional game.

Was hoping this was going to be announced. The first mini console included Micky mouse games, castle / world of illusion. I wonder if Micky mania or other Disney games will be included. Mortal Kombat was big on the Mega drive but even with 3rd party on board, Sega may want to avoid giving the product a Pegi 16 rating.

Sonics planet mobius is rich and unique. The world shown here does look quite generic. What’s been shown could be a small portion with more diverse environments to come.

There’s been a Play Station mini, so a Saturn mini could be feasible. Though the image suggests Mega Drive.
Maybe a mega drive mini 2 or more likely another MD compilation for consoles.

@Teksetter it does look / sound promising. If you haven’t seen it, there is also a standard physical retail release to preorder at stores like GAME and Amazon so will be easy to get a copy.

I really enjoyed Killer 7 on the GameCube. It’s uniqueness and story were a big part of the appeal. With each assassin being a different personality, making you question what’s real.

Never owned this one but borrowed it. An excellent FPS. Will definitely buy and recommend. That’s another retro game I didn’t expect to see, making a comeback. Between Aladdin and the Ninja Turtles games, it seems anything’s possible. Keep em coming.

@KindofaBigDeal I’ve read that in articles, but the gameplay being what it is, I’d be ok with either version. However, I did I only play the Mega Drive games so would be nice to see the difference.

Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and ultimate 3 would be welcome additions. Any titles that are rarer to come by.

A fascinating interview. Even in the 8 and 16-bit era, I think video games were a strong and valid medium, although they’ve not always been viewed as such.

I think Donkey Kong is due a new game. Perhaps levels similar to Kirby’s latest would serve the tropical jungle setting really well.

I’ve read David L. Craddock’s Arcade Perfect. Fascinating reading. Will definitely be buying this book.

I’ve completed Shadow Man remastered. It was well worth it for the new previously cut content. It took around 23 hours 40 mins.
This weekend will be MK 8 DLC, Ys origin and Ys IX.

I’d prefer to own a remastered copy than have access to the original on NSO but the latter would still be welcome. Along with Perfect Dark.

I was waiting for this. Day one purchase. I like the sound of the museum content. TMNT has a rich history with the cartoon, films and toys. It was a craze. No wonder there were so many games.

@Zuljaras the download took the game from version 1.00 to 1.04. It took 20 mins to download. It could just be a patch. I didn’t try playing the game before the download.

I preordered this from GAME and it arrived this morning. The blue label is when the game is on the cart but an additional download is required. The orange label is for empty boxes with download code for the digital version. If that helps.

It’s good that as soon as Nintendo started using CDs with the GameCube, that Capcom would resume strong support. It seems like it took longer for Square Enix, less I’m mistaken.

There were some strong reasons for going with cartridges. For real time 3D games using polygons to run smoothly without load times. A Rare developer mentioned dynamic music as a benefit in an interview.
If the first 3D Mario and Zelda games would have been far less than what they were, then cartridges can be seen as a wise move. Is it possible that on CD, those games could have been as well realised?

I’m really getting into Shadowman now. Loving the upgraded visuals and sound. I’ll continue Dusk. Yesterday I got the Castlevania Advance collection on discount price so will playing as well.

The GameBoy and Game Gear games on the 3DS will be missed. Perhaps the closure is in preparation for their addition to the NSO service.

DK mountain from the DS entry. Not sure if that was it’s name but it was covered with snow, so would look nice with an HD remaster.
They could also have a bowser castle collection as well. The N64 course is my favourite.
The wii entry was good but the metal half pipe wasn’t used well, as you were forced to trick of the edge to get through it. It would be better to have the racers drive down the middle. The boulder shot from the bowser statue would be more of an obstacle.

After enjoying the card battling of Steamworld Quest, I downloaded the demo of Shadowverse: champion’s battle. It’s ok so far. I need to play more before I decide to purchase.

Yes, Goldeneye for NSO or the previously unreleased remaster to buy, although that’s more unlikely.
Surely Bayonetta 3 is a given at this point.
More on the third party side, release dates for the new Turtles game and Sonic origins would be good.

@ThomasBW84 Thanks. It’s on the backlog at the moment but will get to it eventually. I like that it follows main characters Claire and Barry.

Revelations was one of my favourite 3DS games. It’s visually stunning, a fine example of home console quality on a portable console. I have the sequel on the Switch but haven’t played much of it. Not sure if it is considered better than the first.

@Paulo I thought the same. Another big anniversary. There’s plenty of games for the selection.

That’s an interesting article. I have Ace Attorney Chronicles and the AAC Trilogy on my backlog to play. Will definitely make a start sooner now. It would be good to see history dealt with in similar ways in other games.

@Sinton I’d love an arcade collection on par with the Street Fighter release with similar museum content. MK retro collection is an obvious anniversary release. It could be what the image is hinting at.

I’ll be pre-ordering this. In UK the GAME preorder bonus is a mouse mat.

It was frustratingly difficult in places but I still think it worthy of the 10/10 score. I got to the point where I can activate the ending but I wanted to finish collecting all the rubbish first. I won’t be double dipping with the physical copy but I recommend for first time buyers.

Of all the gems I played on the N64, I never played Banjo Kazooie so will be giving this a go. I’m on waiting for the N64 controllers to come back in stock. Hopefully this means other Rare games will become available.

I completed this on the N64 and strongly recommend it to fans of action adventure games. It’s worth persisting to see it through to the end.

I don’t think they could go wrong either way. Mario Kart is such a diverse world, between real world and mushroom kingdom, there’s no doubt still plenty of room for new and interesting course ideas.
However, ‘Nintendo Kart’ would push the envelope even further with amazing results. Courses from worlds like Kirby and Pikmin. Zelda death mountain would make a great course.

Hopefully this collection will make it to consoles. Plenty of other Arcade1Up releases can already be bought on Switch. Just the MK games would do, but the others would be nice additions.

I got Stardew Valley for Christmas so I’ll be spending time with that today. Plus Ys Origin.
Blasphemous is still £4.99 for 5 more days. I’ve played a bit of the demo so far.
Ace Attorney Turnabout collection is 25% off so will pick this up at some point.

I’ve begun Ys IX and Bioshock( got all 3 on sale for £16). I’ll play some Mario party superstars as well.

I’ve completed Skyward Sword with all side quests this time. I’ll be spending some time on DLC content of Two Point Hospital. Needed a break after finishing the base game. I’ll begin with the hospitals in the snow region.

I’ve completed Doom Eternal dlc part 2. Continuing with Skyward Sword, doing the side quests this time. I have Ys IX and Darksiders 3 so will make a start on one of these if I have time.

I like the details shown on those battle scenes. Very impressive. Another game for the wish list.

Tales of Symphonia, Free Radical Designs Time Splitters, RE 4, Killer 7, RE 0 + 1 remake, Smash bros Melee… and many more. Lots of hits. Soul Caliber 2.
Not sure how the Soul Caliber series has progressed. Would be nice to see another entry on the Switch.

Having launched in October I think it’s likely there will be another batch of games for MD and N64 before the end of the year.

Don’t we normally get a Direct presentation early to mid December? With some dates / info for Q1 releases. New NSO games maybe revealed immediately afterwards.
We’ll see if anything gets announced this week.

Doom Eternal ancient gods DLC part 2. I took a break after part 1. Skyward Sword. I picked up Urban Flow on sale. It’s a good puzzle game for short sessions. I like the gameplay, something different.

There were some amazing new gameplay experiences but the Virtual Console was a big surprise. I was just as excited to re-visit NES / SNES and Mega Drive games for the first time in years. As well as playing the many I missed and only rented. The Hanabi festival was the icing on the cake.

Tony Hawk 1 + 2 are £21.99. Never played a Tony Hawk game before but have read the NL 9/10 review. I like to try something different if it’s well done. I may get these later today.

@Paraka I’ve mainly owned Nintendo platforms, but would watch / play GTA at friends, and I didn’t think much of them either.
What this article mentions of the gunplay and environment falls in line with how they came across to me.

I do love third person action games such as Resident Evil 4. It’s interesting the GTA V improves the combat.

I did enjoy GTA 2. Maybe as a top down game it would benefit more from a graphical / sound remaster.
