Re: Interview: Greg Wohlwend on TumbleSeed and What Makes Nintendo Switch Special

@IronMan28 exactly. this game looks good, and that game by the same guy was deemed a top-5 game out of the hundreds of games played that year by my favorite critic — a critic who cannot be bought, clearly. of course we're talking about this monumental waste of time that are video games, so everything is meaningless. but, within this meaninglessness, jim's opinion is as important to me as it gets, and, even though games are meaningless, there are way too many for me to just go into them blind hoping they don't make me even more bored than before. so i was sharing jim's opinion on this developer to help steer people here toward what's looking like a good game.

but of course this is all evident. the conspiracy part was just a brilliant joke i made. because why else would someone point out that jim's opinion is irrelevant? well, yes it is, as in, it's not global warming. but he's a video game critic, and people here care about video games.

Re: Kojima-Free Konami Is Doing Just Fine, Thanks Very Much

even though they are evil, i can see some sort of nintendo-like intelligence to their approach. triple-a development costs are ridiculously out of control. so no more giving kojima 8 years and 200 million to make a game. instead they can spend 200 thousand making bomberman and have that be a pretty big hit. so it's not like they hate all forms of proper video games — they just hate ridiculous budgets, and, of course, they will drag anything through the mud for a buck.

@stevenw45 you are missing nothing. it's a game made for everybody else — the people who don't care enough to be here. it's a competent truncated version of new super mario bros. for people who have decided that their only gaming platform is the one that has whatsapp on it. no one will ever be playing super mario world and wish they were playing super mario run. ever.

Re: First Impressions: 1-2-Switch is an Ideal Pack-In Game That's Missing Its Chance

i dunno. a lot of people had wii sports as a pack-in but had to buy an extra controller, as well as nunchuks and pro controllers it they wanted different control options.
this one comes with the two controllers and the grip to turn them into a sort of pro controller, though with a compromised d-pad. and people have the freedom to use that extra 60 bucks on zelda instead of the minigames.

Re: Soapbox: The Nintendo Switch's Final Specs Don't Matter

i don't even see how it could fail if it indeed consolidates the two games libraries. pokemon, animal crossing, monster hunter, mario kart, yokai, 3d mario and 2d mario fans won't just evaporate. even if only people who buy pokemon buy it, that's already more sales than the wii u. the 3ds sold a lot of units even being a weaker machine than the wii, unable to run xenoblade chronicles decently. the switch may be the machine that has pokemon stars while also having the power to run skyrim and such. it is underpowered from the point of view of the crazy spec race, but it is not laughably underpowered. devs will be crazy not to want their games on the machine that has ALL of nintendo making games for it.
