I pre-ordered the Master Edition on Amazon. According to a rep there, the price dropped to £74.99 momentarily, so thanks to the price promise I'll be saving at least £15. A much better than pre-order tat.

In America, I haven't seen anything for preordering the game. I do have the special edition and a carrying case. I wouldn't mind the t shirt.

Glad to see the Wii U version getting in on the act, thanks @damo b/c those special edition Switch bundles were a smack in the face.

Almost related, Best Buy (US) had the Wolf Link amiibo up for pre-order for $15.99, I'd been waiting for that to be sold separately in the US, I think the rest if the world may have gotten it but only bundled here. Now we just need a ND to tell us what they all do.

Not buying a switch at launch. I will wait till 2018 to see how things go if 3Rd party jump ship then I won't bother because NintySnesMan won't bother either. I won't get stung again like with the win u

@G0dlike Yeah, I got in touch with them when my order still displayed £89.99 but I'd seen the price drop to £79.99. Here's what they said:

"With our pre-order price guarantee it means that when we do dispatch this product to you, you will be charged the lowest price it was ever listed at. I can see this dropped to 74.99 GBP. This price will not be reflected on the order level, your price will not change.

On the day of dispatch you will get a shipping confirmation and at this moment in time I can guarantee you that it will be for 74.99 GBP or less. As there is still time, it may well drop in price again."

Amazon doesn't get anything... except a £10 lower price.
I am tempted to accept the higher price for the shirt from the Nintendo UK online store, but other shirts I've got from them have shrunk really quickly... I might just put the money I save towards a better quality shirt with a similar design.

No thanks. I've previously pre-ordered the game (WiiU version) via Amazon at £40 - it's since when up in price. No unnecessary tat increasing the price of said game for me, thank you very much. Besides, between my SM3DW furry sleeve and Skyward Sword Wii Remote, these items are worthless.

Amazon Wii U version for £35 for me.

I have the Wii u version ordered, and via a dutch website. So I'll miss everything. No special edition, no pre-order bonusses, nothing. Well, the game is most important!

Has anyone else noticed that they refer to the Master Sword statue that comes in the master edition bundle as the "Master Sword of Resurrection"?
I've been thinking for a while that Link may not have actually been resurrected in the Shrine of Resurrection... he might be the "Hero of Resurrection".

And so what with 3rd party Western games ? The line up for Switch for me is pretty interesting. Don't measure it with 3rd party Western, especially adult games. Ugh... I buy Nintendo games for kiddie, colorful and fun gameplay, not for dark, diabolical and adult games.

Already preordered the Master Sword Edition at GameStop and as far as I know, I get no Preorder Bonuses. Not that I'd be on the lookout for that, though. Always forget about that kinda stuff.

The switch can't just rely on cute first party games.look at the win u when it tried that even Nintendo gave up on it after 3Rd party jumped ship. The switch line up is not great by any means but who knows in the future. I won't buy at launch or anytime in the near future I won't get stung again like I did with the win u.just like 3Rd party I will wait. It will sink or swim but 1St party games alone will not be enough it needs 3Rd party

2. Appropriate JRPG. (Maximum rated Teen)
3. Life Simulation games.
4. Rhythm games.
5. Hopefully Cute Boxing games.

Those line up somewhat like during NDS and Wii era, with 3DS style.

@NoxAeturnus I've decided not to get a switch at launch till and will wait until there are some more games released for it that I want. plus the wii u should have off screen play and easier inventory management (if previous zelda games are anything to go by) and I can install the supplementary data on my external hard drive. I'm just waiting for confirmation of all that before deciding whether to buy wii u version now or wait for the switch version.

I love Nintendo.i have been buying there machines before most gamers nowadays were even born. The only one I didn't buy was virtual boy. But as it stands the Nintendo tab pad can wait for me until the time is right.i want it to be a massive success but I am not spending massive amounts of money just yet I will wait and see what happens.dont want my fingers burned again so soon

Unfortunately my pre order on Amazon won't arrive until March 9 - 11... I wrote to ask them about it to see if I could get it on release date, and somehow got 25% off and a $10 coupon if I understand the reply right... Totally flabbergasted now @.@

Jrpg.life simulation and cute games sounds like the Sony vita mate it has tons of everything u described. I only know of 1 boxing game on it though. Anyway enjoy the switch and maybe I will join u somewhere down the line

@gspro15198 Despite the Sheikah slate being modelled on the gamepad, they've removed all gamepad use from the game. Aonuma claims it was distracting (even though it worked great for WW/TP HD). Obviously the real reason was that they didn't want the Wii U version to be 'superior' in any way so they nerfed it.

Uh, Arms, Splatoon 2, Xenoblade 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem, Octopath Traveler, Snipperclips, indies as far as the eye can see, Breath of the Wild, and a few big third-parties.

That's not to even mention E3, where the big new games are announced.

Had my special edition for £75 on ShopTo but am selling that to a friend. Amazon for both the Wii U and Switch versions at £40 a piece.

Wanted the soundtrack from the special edition but not the statue and it wasn't worth an extra £35.

Wanted the American special edition without the statue but went fast and didn't want to spend shipping.

@SirPrimalform that's an absolute shame if that is true. the gamepad makes inventory management so much easier and intuitive. hopefully they'll patch it in at some point.

Reading some of these comments here, you would think people are being forced at gunpoint to preorder or buy the game at specific places..

And I'll wait a little bit before deeming the 3rd party situation doomed.

At least the pre-order bonuses aren't additional in-game content which should have already been in the game and instead is cosmetic.

I would imagine its a situation where 3rd parties are a lot more hesitant this time around because of what the end result of the Wii U was. So in that respect, I don't think its a fair comparison.

Pin badge from Shopto looks the best to me. It's still no US Master Edition though...

@gspro15198 That looks unlikely, I'm pretty sure they want to avoid the Wii U version being superior in any way. Besides, the official line is that "it was distracting" so it's unlikely they'll change from that stance.

Got my pre-order with Amazon the moment it went live, and not changing anything now. I just want the game - don't care too much about T-shirts, posters, pin badges and other bonuses.

Very correct it was my loss when I got burned with the wii u. I spent a lot of hard earned money on that console and for what. 3Rd party jumped then Nintendo jumped themselves. I don't know about other ppl but I didn't invest so the machine could be tossed aside and 2fingers from Ninty. Now they make a tablet and expect me to come back so eagerly and throw money at them like all is forgiven. I love Ninty but I don't have faith in them at the moment especially with a tablet. For me it's just a deluxe version of the wii u that I can take with me No big deal. Yep my loss especially with all those games I can play on other platforms. Apart from maybe Arms and new mario in Q4 I sure am going to miss justdance and streetlights 2 yet again. I am not against switch but I just won't jump in head first like I did with wii u. Besides I can buy it further down the line when or if it has a decent library so that won't be a loss but a gain especially when the game shortages come again

@jimi Maybe you can argue the launch window isn't as robust as you would like. But I would hardly call the first year empty in regards to 3rd parties, considering the situation with the Wii U. And I know no one thinks anything will be shown at E3 that hasn't been or couldn't have been shown now. But I will just wait and see. After then, you can give a definitive grade on how the first year for third parties will go

Great selection mate. When the switch gets many great games like that I will invest again and I don't mean mario kart deluxe or Spratton that I can already play. For me I will probably invest in 2018 Christmas time. The switch will have a bigger picture by then. This time I won't have blinkers on

I've managed to get the BOTW standard edition through tesco at £43 with staff discount, though no such luck with added extras; will happily go without though for the sake of spending more for a keyring or whatever, the money i've saved can go towards a pro-controller or memory card etc. Still annoyed at how poor the UK's special edition is in comparison to America's.

Yep I ain't in a rush. Like yourself I have a huge back catalogue for the psvita. I also recently bought a few more games for my sega saturn that I need to play. I have the biggest back catalogue to play on my phone I have many emulators for most machines. At the moment I am playing phantom hourglass on Android phone

Being in Italy, I didn't get much of a choice - it's Amazon without any bonus frill. GameStop used to give away additional stuff with preorders (I got a nice Splatoon shirt back in 2015!) but I guess they are not bothering anymore with WiiU.
Would love to get the Nintendo UK version with the shirt but 60 quid is just demential if the street price is £20 cheaper (and on top of that I would have to pay for shipping because I'm not in the UK). No thanks.

@NintySnesMan the chicken will never come before the egg. The Wii U was a poor concept and marketed horribly. Even the name was terrible. If everyone has the "wait and see" attitude then the Switch will suffer the same fate. Thankfully the Switch doesn't try to be anything other that a good console that can be taken on the go. It's a concept that I think will be very popular. I'm truly excited for it.

I am excited for the switch but all said and done it will be the games or lack of AAA that will decide it's fate. Regardless if ppl want Ninty games it needs top 3Rd party games. The hardcore Ninty fans r only so many it needs to open up to everybody not just Ninty fans and casuals. I remember when ppl had a ps3 or xbox but also a wii.it needs this again

I look on here and read "I don't want to be stung" etc. Etc. Honestly, the fact I can play major titles on a portable home console is already a deal maker with me. It's something that I have wanted for ages. Want to play Mario or Zelda on the airplane? Go for it! As a person who travels all the time, I find that the switch is absolutely wonderful compared to the bulky PC I have.

Unlike u mate I ain't a fanboy I have many machines. I have my fun with mario but am not single minded. There are many great games on many different machines and I play them all.i will play zelda etc on switch but I will wait for a price drop down the line. Non fanboy don't have to be in a rush. I will be playing same games as u but mine will be cheaper if u see my point. So maybe we will meet online playing Splatoon down the line
