One of the most amazing things about Minecraft is that you can build almost anything - and that includes 80-hour adventures based around the world-famous Pokémon franchise.
Pokémon Cobalt and Amethyst has a full storyline, a training and battle system, plenty of dialogue and 136 monsters to catch - which is done by throwing PokéBalls, of course.
This is only available on the PC version of course, and we doubt Nintendo will look very positively on it. Still, it's incredible how inventive the Minecraft modding community can get.

I really wish I could like minecraft especially for the mario stuff on Wii U but I can't get into it. I'm going to get the new cubelife on ps4 or switch though. PS4 if I don't have a switch by then.
It is indeed incredible. Not that I've tried it, but well done to those involved.
This is absolutely amazing!
I don't like minecraft but this is a clever mod. Would be great if someone made Duke nukem 3d
Now that you have showcased it, it's not going to last long before Nintendo shut it down. Shame really, fair play to them for creating something they love.
Cease and desist in 3, 2, 1......
That is dedication to the extreme.
I don't have the time nor patience to do something like this.
Well done to them.
@SanderEvers Cue the Nintendo fanboys that call the developers psycho clowns for making a fan game.
@Gorlokk Oh dear... I remember that comment.
cough Looks quite impressive tbh. Made me realise how good a well crafted 3D pokemon game would look like.
Pixelmon is a Pokémon mod that's existed forever
Should have called it Minémon to avoid any legal issues that would come from using the Pokémon name.
This is so awesome. If only the consoles could get this!
Drop the Pokemon name from the title and they should be fine. It looks like they made original monsters. Nintendo can't do anything if they aren't using licensed material. Maybe change the music and call design too.
@SetupDisk The console versions of Minecraft are pretty inferior experiences to the PC/Pocket Edition versions anyway. I've played the PC versions for years, I got a chance to get the PS3 version for free but decided against it after a 10 minute trial.
Nintendo won't touch this, I've seen similar games people have made in Minecraft that have been running for years. Pixelmon runs public servers with no problem at all.. people need to remember that C&Ds only tend to happen when a fan game competes with the main games or starts asking for money.
@SanderEvers Yeah because, everyone can just afford a dev kit.rolls eyes
Minecraft can sometimes get a bad rap because of that little corner of annoying squeakers in the fanbase, but the overall community has turned Minecraft into a platform for true art over the past 7 years. It's amazing to see just what people can do with it.
you can build anything except for something i can stand to look at longer than 2 minutes
@SanderEvers
Keep it to yourself? Are you kidding me? Do you have any idea how much time and effort it takes to make a fan game, let alone any game? I mean I won't deny that some fan games spill the beans about development too early, allowing a C&D before it's even released by themselves, but for goodness sakes man, that's just silly!
And like someone else said, dev kits cost money man. Most fan games don't really have any budget at all, so it's not like they're pourings thousands of dollars into the game that could go towards a dev kit.
@SanderEvers Okay, fair points as far as the costs of development goes, even if scenario 2 is just "ask people for money before the game is made." Making a fan game, however, is not "stealing" someone's work unless the devs are trying to sell the fan game.
