A steady stream of developers have been outlining plans to support Nintendo Switch, and Hamburg-based Daedalic Entertainment is the latest to do so. Though it didn't make an impact on Wii U as was once planned, the company is bringing its next major release to the system - State of Mind.
There's no solid release date as yet, which in unsurprising as the PC market - especially in Germany - is key for the publisher's games and therefore takes priority.
As for what the game is, it's a story-drive third-person adventure; a description and trailer from Summer last year are below.
State of Mind is a futuristic thriller game delving into transhumanism. The game explores themes of separation, disjuncture and reunification, in a world that is torn between a dystopian material reality and a utopian virtual future.
Employing multiple playable characters and two separate game worlds, State of Mind explores the existential drama that develops in a society on the brink of post-material existence.
You are Richard Nolan, a father and journalist from Berlin who discovers that he and his wife and son have been subjects to mind uploads. Richard's upload, however, has gone wrong. As a result, he is still living in real-life reality, but an incomplete second version of his self also exists in a secret Virtual Reality project.
Upon realizing that he is literally a torn man, Richard sets out on a dramatic and dangerous search for salvation. He aims to reunite with his family, as well as with his own split self. On his way, he soon realizes that this journey isn't only about him, but about the future of mankind.
It'll be interesting to see how this shapes up on Nintendo Switch in the coming months.

Looks good the more games the better
I've not heard of this and the trailer doesn't show gameplay (I don't think?) but I'm loving the low-poly art style and general tone and atmosphere of this. One to keep an eye on for sure!
The trailer and the story summary are very interesting, if the actual game ends up being good then count me in!
Digging that art style. Hopefully it has a decent story and gameplay too!
Up until now, a multiplatform game that was releasing on Steam would have always been a PC purchase for me just for the simple reason that I have a decent gaming rig that would make it look the best possible, but, if the Switch takes off, I could see it easily taking the spot of my gaming rig for titles like this due to the convince of playing mobile. Nintendo may be on to something here...
I really like the art too. Hopefully this is a sign that more and more devs will jump on the Switch.
i see no evidence of the word summer having a capital letter in any dictionary. just a thought.
Definitely has potential based on the video.
Potential, potential, potential.
Us Nintendo owners hear this word a lot, Wii Used to hear it a lot last gen.
I hope this is a sign of more games to come.
The story sounds really cool, and I like the art style. I hope it's good.
Looks very interesting.
I love the stories concept, will check it out for sure if it makes it to switch
Hmm. It has an interesting premise and art style. If the gameplay impresses, consider me sold.
@Megas
I would be the happiest man if thst would be true
Sounds incredibly interesting
Well if its from the people who made Edna and Harvey and Deponia then I'm interested. They also published Pillars of Eternity too so I'm REALLY interested.
Looks very nice.
Seeing how well the nindies worked on Wii U, I think Nintendo should really pursue all those quirky And/or small-team PC games like undertale, super hot, fnaf, all the walking simulators... there's a lot of good games that would work very well on the switch
Helluva trailer, that's for sure.
Oh hey, it's the US in about 8 years! Okay, maybe 10-15.
sounds like my kinda game. most interesting thing (to me) i've seen for switch so far.
From the image up above, it sort of reminded me of that Star Wars 1313 game (or whatever the numbers were) that got cancelled way back for some reason. Just that sort of atmosphere I guess.
Lovely looking game and an intriguing story. I will definitely keep this one in mind, in like a year and a half when it will probably release, haha. At least if it releases in Europe before US I can import it!
Yes!
Looks very blade runner, no real show of game play though. Just like all TV adverts for computer games now a days, *not actual gameplay in the bottom right hand corner
@Bunkerneath Pretty darn gratuitous rip off if you ask me. I'd rather play the awesome old Westwood Studios game.
@LemonSlice never even knew about that game, it does look completely the same though, just with upgraded graphics
I hope we will see more aventures soon (point-and-click preferably) and that Syberia 3 coming to Switch is true. Gotta work hard to afford all the amazing games along the console.
@Bunkerneath Don't even get me started on that, it's a completely different game. Westwood's Blade Runner was a product of it's time, thus an amazing, innovative game with a great story and great graphics.
