there's one guy on miiverse who seems to buy and make the first comment for every single game ever. i keep waiting for him to open the comment section for steel lords, but apparently even he cannot bring himself to buy it.

playing the first game on mega drive was quite magical. sonic 2 was awesome too — amazing music.

@wazlon i think it's gonna be good. what nintendo has going for it is that they can just outright create a dozen great launch exclusives to get the big fans to buy it right out of the gate. so there will be an audience that third parties can't ignore. just add to that a machine that isn't a nightmare to code for, and boom, profit.

current vr technology looks like that first-ever cellphone, which michael douglas used in 'wall street.' except it also has a lot of wires, so i guess that cellphone was better.

@Thermoclorn just saying that there were a lot of good games that skipped the wii u. fortunately we got bayonetta 2 at least, while ps4 got platinum's worst game ever, ninja turtles

some unrelated good news is that the wii u got the best platinum game ever, whereas the platinum game it didn't get was their worst.

well, at least it's not a ghostbusters movie, so the painful writing shouldn't hurt it too much

i finished it once with 18 deaths and then deleted this evil game.

@DiscoGentleman don't know whether this helps anyone, but i found a clumsy way to back up save files on wii u. this can be done with two external drives, or with one external plus internal memory.

i take one game and copy it from the drive where it is to the other one. now having two copies of the whole thing (game + save file), it's possible and safe to go into one of them and delete the software part. what remains is the save file. so you could do this many times and keep a flash drive full of save files.

so, while nintendo doesn't allow me to go into the game and copy that save file, it does allow me to copy the whole 10 gb of w101 and then delete the 10gb without deleting the save file. it's all quite stupid, but gets the job done.

@Ralizah looked like garbage? i skipped most of that generation. looking back on it, i simply cannot look at ps1 classics like tomb raider, which to me look as bad as atari games, whereas something like mario 64 looks to me more like mega drive sonic.

i can see this succeeding. that 30-dollar season thing looks like a great deal if you're crazy about this sort of thing.

i think putting just one word like that between quotation marks makes it look like irony. consider this: donald trump is a very "smart" person.

so maybe nintendo does want my money after all. i guess this basically makes it unnecessary for me to buy a jailbroken wii, as xenoblade was the big rare game that was too expensive to buy used.

this gives me a little bit of naïve hope that they will at least have the decency to make this a monster year for older titles on wii u, including skyward, sunshine, gx.

but of course they will find a way to disappoint me.
