This game is rated 18 and the trailer above has some brief nudity, though it is not age-gated on YouTube.
Tormented Souls is an interesting upcoming horror title that's been doing the rounds for quite a while - it's blending modern visuals with fixed camera perspectives. From sparkling items on statues to meaty shotguns fired at close range, its sources of inspiration are rather clear.
The new trailer above is one of the longest looks yet; it's actually confirming release dates later this month for Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Nevertheless the Switch does still have a release window of 'TBC', while the press release says it's 'coming soon'. A limited retail edition also has 'Q3' as a loose release window.
Though the visuals will no doubt be pared back on Switch, here's hoping that the fixed camera perspectives will be a factor in the game transitioning across relatively well.
It looks rather promising; are you keeping an eye on this one for Switch?

@spacemoe505 Wow good for you. Being the first to write is truly a great achievement. You should notify your family and friends immediately.
Doesn't look scary at all -.-
Trailer looks really cool, I'll prob pick it up for Steam if it gets any decent reviews.
Really liking the look of this. The theme and the lighting should make for a creepy experience. I'm playing through Alien Isolation at the moment. Those Working Joe's are creepier than the Alien.
OOooohnoninononinono, this is a no from me. I am a scaredycat.
looks a bit rough. Hope it's good though. indie devs tend to have too much scope. Biomutant for example, had great ideas but was poorly executed.
@GrailUK I feel you, hahahaha. I kinda wanna try Alien: Isolation because it looks great, but i don't know if the 10 minutes i'll last are gonna be worth the money.
@StefanN Hahaha. You can lasty much longer if you find a comfy sized cupboard...and stay there till help arrives!
@spacemoe505 yes, and as witty and clever as a first commenter can be.
It looks good. Jury is obviously out on how well-executed it is, but at least the devs seem to have some idea of the appeal of PS1-era survival horror game design, unlike Bloober Team. Having watched some of the demo footage already, I also love the cute RE nod at the beginning with the disclaimer about the game containing scenes of explicit violence and gore.
If this turns out well, then between this and Fatal Frame 5, survival horror fans are going to be eating well for the first time in years.
Getting this on Switch if that version is well-optimised. Nothing in the footage makes me think it shouldn't run well on the system.
@JokerCK Already have mate! I've put a star in my diary, sent my pen pal a letter and notified the post office and neighbourhood watch as well. Thanks for acknowledging, you managed to make this day even more special! Many thanks and all the best

@Bl4ckb100d Hey are you studying Japanese???
@JokerCK Also, do you accept Turkish lira? Would you sell me your house for a penny? I'll give you a shiny one!
@spacemoe505 yeah I am
@Ralizah Tried the demo when it launched on Steam. It is actually way closer to first Silent Hill than RE (audio cues, musical themes, mirror world, melee combat, body horror and even some of the animations). After beating the demo, I believe this will be a great game.
However, based solely on performance on my PC, I fear if the Switch version will be playable...
Will wait for the reviews, but it doesn't look bad at all.
@doomista I noticed the audio sounded VERY SH.
Too bad Yamaoka wasn't tapped for this project.
Game struggled on your PC, I take it?
It's not coming to Switch yet if it's just TBC. TBC means to be considered meaning it's not legit just yet. They had not even announce a plan for a Switch port as they are still tinkering with the possibility.
@Bl4ckb100d How you finding that?
@Ralizah I played on M$ Surface tablet, which is indeed a stupid decision, but it made me go to graphics settings. Because of that I found out that the game allows you to tone down texture quality so much that some of the puzzles are unsolvable (like the rotating key or steam pressure puzzle).
If the devs opt for dynamic resolution, popular choice for optimizing many Switch titles, there is a risk of some puzzles being hard to beat because you can't read some enviromental que. This issue can potentially be even more pronounced when played in handheld.
@Specter_of-the_OLED They use the NS logo in the teaser and on their webpage. I hope they wouldn't do it if they weren't yet decided whether they want to do it or not.
@StefanN Highly recommend Alien: Isolation is an amazing horror game ^__^
@doomista Interesting. Although I'm struggling to think of reasons why a dip in resolution would make a puzzle unsolvable.

A Switch release has been planned from the start. They're probably just a small team that wants to focus on the next-gen version before they focus on whipping the game into shape on older consoles like Switch, Xbox One, and PS4.
@spacemoe505 been studying for a year now. It's seems very difficult at first, but once you learn the general kanji it gets much easier.

@Bl4ckb100d Good on you man. I've been trying to find time to learn it myself but at the moment quite busy trying to move out of my parents' basement.
@Bl4ckb100d All them pillows ain't gonna move themselves

This looks like a mix between Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Add some Condemned you have the cheesy horror games of old. The VAing is RE1/2 good
@spacemoe505 Ignore the nay sayers. I'm proud of you
@GrailUK There we go! Positive vibes guys! Cheers mate
@Ralizah temporary dip wouldn't be an issue but if an area is generally more demanding on graphics so the dip is always present on a particular spot, then you have a problem.
Namely, with the steam pressure puzzle, when I used the worst graphics quality, I could not read the dial so I didn't know what is the target spot.
Hey for anyone with a PS5 (and maybe a PS4?) there’s a demo on Sony’s storefront for this if you’d like to see how it plays. Everything looks and sounds great about this game but I really want to feel how it plays. If it plays well, I’ll be getting for Switch!
@Specter_of-the_OLED it has already been announced to be coming to Switch back when it was originally announced. They want to focus on PS5 and XSX/S first and then Switch and later on Xbox One and PS4
