It's that time of the year where things are starting to get busy again with more live stream events. Apart from Nintendo's Indie World presentation today, we've also got Gamescom later this month and QuakeCon 2021.
Ahead of QuakeCon, which begins on 19th August, Nintendo is hosting a special Switch eShop sale - where you can save some money on select Bethesda published titles from companies like id Software and MachineGames.
Here's the round-up. As noted above, this sale runs until 23rd August - so take advantage of the sale prices while you can.
Game | Sale price | Regular price |
DOOM Eternal | $29.99 | $59.99 |
DOOM | $29.99 | $39.99 |
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim | $29.99 | $59.99 |
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus | $17.99 | $59.99 |
Wolfenstein: Young Blood | $5.99 | $19.99 |
Wolfenstein: Young Blood - Deluxe Edition | $14.99 | $29.99 |
DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods Expansion Pass | $24.99 | $29.99 |
DOOM Eternal: Deluxe Edition | $53.98 | $89.99 |
DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods - Part One | $14.98 | $19.99 |
Although this same sale does not appear to be live in the UK, there are some savings in this region. DOOM (2016) is £26.24 instead of £34.99, DOOM Eternal is £20.19 instead of £26.99, Skyrim is now £24.99 instead of £49.99, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is down to £13.49.
Will you be downloading any of these Bethesda titles ahead of QuakeCon? Leave a comment below.

How about ports of Fallout 3 and talk Obsidian into giving us New Vegas?
Otherwise I am good. Always liked those better than Elder Scrolls or Doom.
Sales are nice though.
They are still around twice as expensive as in the steam sale.
Where's portable Oblivion? That would be a port I would jump on immediately 😑
@Heavyarms55 Beat me to it. Gimme some Fallout. Then we'll talk.
@dBackLash When they go on sale on Xbox One it's usually a Steam-like sale, games are hugely discounted. It's hard to say they're not worth it on Switch because they're great games but it's not easy to accept you'll have to pay double for them
@Broosh
I'd take a port of Oblivion!
It'll never happen, because Bethesda seems keen to make it be forgotten, but I'd love a port of Wolfenstein 2009 developed by Raven Software on Switch.
Heck, I'd love it to be playable via BC on Xbox at the least or the option to buy it on PC digitally. I love the storytelling of Machine Games versions of Wolfenstein, but the gameplay and occult setting of Raven Software's Wolfenstein 2009 is far more enjoyable for me. It's still my favorite Wolfenstein.
Just give us a Fallout 3, 4, and New Vegas port for Switch please.
At this point, now that I've pre-ordered the Doom trilogy special edition from Limited Run and already have 64, 2016, and Eternal, I think I'm set on any Bethesda games I'd want. Not really into Elder Scrolls outside of Morrowind, and the Wolfensteins are games I'd rather play on PC since they don't really have a "true" physical release on Switch. I got Doom Eternal digitally only because of how much I loved the game and wanted a portable version, but for Wolfenstein, I'd rather save money and grab them on Steam.
Is Youngblood that bad it has a low price?
That's a good price on Wolfenstein 2. I'm pretty sure that's its biggest discount yet. I think I'll go for it, always wanted to play it.
@PizzaCat I think Youngblood is great if you have someone to play couch-coop with. Without that, your partners ai is a thundering dumba**
@PizzaCat No. It’s actually a pretty good game IMO. I don’t know if you played other titles in the series but the levels/areas are less diverse than the other 2 main games mostly because the story takes place on a much smaller setting. Makes for a lot of traversing through the same areas which can be unfortunate. I did like the “ leveling up” aspect and skills that were introduced. I think $5 is a steal if you’ve been interested in the game. I mostly played by myself( with AI) and can attest that sometimes they’re dumb but I always had more problems playing online with random people.
Just bagged Doom Eternal for £12.49 (75% off!) on Steam ready for Steam Deck
@Heavyarms55 i love vegas
6 dollars for wolfenstein is fine.
Get Skyrim under £20 and I might take the plunge.
@Kang81 The problem with Wolf2009 is it's not an id/Bethesda game. It's entirely Activision. Somehow they got Quake IV back and got re-release publishing rights from Activision, but Wolf2009 is in limbo without any real Bethesda connection. It never really went anywhere due to poor marketing from Activision, so there's probably no incentive to revive it.
It was kind of an awkward reboot of the reboot RTCW was. Raven made amazing games before they were pulled into CoD forever, but it was a weird subseries that tried to take Wolf into a whole paranormal semi-horror direction.
@John_Deacon To be fair, on XB they're first party games that are part of the permanent Game Pass library, so it'll take a low price to convince someone to buy when they're permanently included in the subscription that a majority of players on the platform subscribe to.
@OorWullie You totally should. The games story is great and after the updates Panic Button released, the game looks good and plays really well. I just wish the first Wolfenstein was on the Switch.
Decent prices for Wolfenstein. Been quite keen for a while, a bit put off by the not really physical edition so this seems an ideal time to pick up
@faint Me and my sister played that game two completion and beyond, the online is great and you only have to purchase at one time if you get the deluxe version for both players to participate. Great game
@SSGodLink I just bought it. Only £11 odds on the Russian Eshop. I can't really spare the 21GB it takes up though haha
@NEStalgia
It's still a tragedy in my eyes, as it is with any game in that situation.
@Kang81 Any game trapped at Activision isa tragedy... 😂
@NEStalgia
Sadly, your not wrong. I generally feel the same way about EA. Just two publishers that no longer have games for me.
@Kang81 haha, yeah, though these days EA is starting to sound like they actually care about their games..... It's weird....
@NEStalgia
They do seem to being learning a lesson, but I will forever be highly skeptical of EA.
