@jswhitfield8 sad how kids troll so much, I bet he/she doesn't even have the money to buy the games he wants but wants more before the system is out! Lol smh
@Yasume really the worst launch year? That's crazy, open-world Zelda, brand new core Mario game, fire emblem warriors, splatoon 2, new Ip arms and snipperclips, Mario kart 8 deluxe, Bomberman r, a brand new and solid party game, along with a lot of good third party titles. You're expecting too much for launch year. Ps4 and Xbox one both had 1-2 good exclusives their first year, the rest of the games were on 360, ps3 or PC, a lot of the games stunk too. The following year saw games release with tons of bugs. For two years after their release people were saying next Gen is arriving next year. We got a ton of remasters of 360 / ps3 games. Ps4 is only now having a good momentum in game releases, 3 years later.
Don't see why anybody is so upset they don't get to play 20+ year old games at launch. They will probably launch VC closer to the time they start charging for online.
@Moon relax, its a new console launch and you're expecting way too much at once. You're also holding Nintendo to a different standard with the pay for online thing. First of all its going to be much cheaper than the other consoles. Secondly the only reason Sony and MS give our free games is to shut you up about paying 50 bucks every year, its also usually never games you want or already have so personally id rather spend that 25 bucks buying games I want. I don't remember enjoying and beating a game from a free one except for one and I didn't beat it, that was Olli Olli on ps4 and now that I don't pay for psplus I no longer can play the game. So pay for online is absolutely nothing new and lets be happy we got free online with Wii u.
Even revealing everything at once isn't beneficial nowadays as it all gets forgotten. Looks like their method is to sprinkle information throughout the year, this helps them stay relevant and for people to feel like there is more news. Its important to maintain momentum, slow and steady wins the race. We already have fire emblem warriors and a fire emblem console mainstay game next year. They didn't just announce 1-2 switch. On top of that we get a new IP Arms that looks like a great start, Splatoon 2, a new core Mario game, Xenoblade chronicles 2 and yes 1-2 switch a fun and unique party game. We got a small unique game Snipperclips, another new IP, for March. One of the best Wii U games is coming out with some additions and changes (2 items at once, better battle mode, new map and characters). And you are saying they didn't announce anything!?! Don't want to pay for online? Then keep playing on the Wii U after the free online period is up this fall
Regarding VC, we have no details so you're assuming everything and Nintendo allowed upgrades from Wii to Wii U for 1.50 not sure why they wouldn't offer any incentive now. Not like you are forced to buy the same game over and over again. I got the Wii u with a bunch of VC in there and I'm sticking to that, if they want to offer discounts on Switch for the games I have already then I may take up some offers or I may not. I'm never throwing my Wii u out as its got great games. If it fails I have a backup unit.
My point is you're looking at all the negatives and forgetting about the positives. So relax, you'll get Pokemon and animal crossing but I'm sure you don't want them rushed. Also, they just released two new Pokemon games a few months ago and offered updates to New Leaf... We will get more games on switch next year than this year. You have nothing to worry about.
70 dollars is not outrageous considering it has a long battery life, motion controls and the battery is already included. On Xbox One you need to buy a separate battery for 25 bucks but nobody is complaining about that.
it absolutely needs apps, i think the only reason it hasn't been big news or no announcements have been made so that they can make people feel like it's all about gaming first, then introduce the non-priority aspects.
@nhSnork anything can play just fine on a tiny screen, doesnt mean a lot of people's eyes aren't going to get tired looking at a tiny screen up close for long periods at a time.
The problem is you really don't want to play AAA games on a 3DS sized screen or even a phone screen. Switch has only enough real estate to make the games like BotW hold clarity in portable mode.
@zionich Yes and also the hair style is leaning more towards the defeated timeline with the really long sideburns. Also they created a comparison artwork showing a similar picture to the first Zelda. Back to square one.
@RoboBubble the presentation was made to break down into many news articles. it was good for investors too and online gamers to tune in. its not going to touch the mass population.
@Yasume to be fair, many shooters are "rehashes" until maybe after every 2 or 3 sequels. For the same studio to release a new one only two years later there wouldn't be time to build a brand new game of quality from ground-up.
They really should make sure that it runs 1080p when docked, at least 900p. No first party games should feature as many jagged edges as the Wii U did. The lack of anti-aliasing seriously turned me off some games.
If it's medium sized on content I wouldn't pay more than $24.99 for this game. If larger in size then $29.99 if I'm desperate. It's too downsized of a game to cost more than that.
@Kosmo Switch doesn't have near Ps4 graphics... it running 1080p resolution with 60fps doesn't mean it can support the same textures, physics and advanced graphics that ps4 can support in that resolution. wii u can run ps1 games in 1080p 120fps if it wanted to.
@RadioHedgeFund I dont think Wii U software will carry over. I think they want the Switch to have nothing to do with its past systems except for absorbing their DNA.
@PotatoTheGreat to start fresh, Wii U allowed you to use Wii accessories and had a bunch of its own, it was almost laughable how many accessories you can have because it complicates things and complicates describing it to people. also, saying no past generation controller doesnt work on this one makes it feel new and beyond the past, it makes it clear this is the new one they want and not an upgrade.
i dont see online pay as a step back. actually its required for them to move forward and enhance the experience with constant updates and grow the platform. as long as it's less than both xbox live and psn prices.
@KoopaTheGamer It looked like a fantastic game because it uses Metroid Prime gameplay. Metroid is a franchise built on the themes of exploration, solitude and discovery. Federation Force has none of those things. Instead it is a co-op game with repetitive missions aiming to appeal to children.
Not buying this junk. Voting with my wallet and I vote Metroid Prime 4 or something similar. The less people buy this the better, teach Nintendo to stop fracking around.
@ToxieDogg Same with Amiibo Festival. That's why I canceled my order. Regardless of previously saying they aren't, they are transitioning into games that require amiibo for the full experience like Skylanders and Disney Infinity.
@allav866 Blind packs don't work when it's $6 for a pack of 6 blind cards and there are 100 cards in the first series. You can spend around $200 getting them all and have tons of cards to throw away.
@rob955 I thought the same thing. I was thinking this is too transparent for Nintendo. Nobody wants Nintendo to be a transparent company, it takes away the magic.

@sillygostly you don't have to buy everything but hey it only happens like once every 6 years that we get a new console Zelda game.
