Re: Review: Mario Tennis Aces (Switch)

@thesilverbrick it's been bad on releases. Only family friendly stuff this year. Not one single player game from Nintendo I can think of except captain toad which is a port. My first purchase this year for switch is going to be octopath. Hopefully next year is better

@ekwcll wasn't talking to you, I was talking to the guy who said he didn't understand why people are bothered by the ports. Obviously if you didn't invest in a Wii u you don't care. For all the core fans that did though they are getting shortchanged. A lot of Wii u owners went out and bought the Switch either on release day or first few months because again they are the core Nintendo fans who stuck around in dire times. So after seeing as year 2 exclusives are more than half ports is disappointing and there is no sign of them stopping using ports as filler games throughout the Switch's life. Also Nintendo knows its fans love to collect so they throw in a paltry addition to the game only on Switch, don't allow a Wii U download and price it for full price. This isn't the Master Chief Collection we're talking either and sometimes graphics are barely improved. Its one of the reasons I'm out of the loop until year 3 when we hopefully start seeing a bigger annual lineup. There won't be any excuse not to have more than 5 new games next year unless their handheld divisions really are working on a 3ds successor.

@NEStalgia idk about that. yeah he sounds professional to the point where he rarely makes a mistake but that doesn't take away from his personality. he's got a sense of humor and that's apparent, he also laughs when he's caught on the PR stuff and I think he's got the strongest presence out of the other guys. the guy's got memes out of things he actually said and did. He also isn't afraid to get silly in skits. Him and Phil are tied for me.

@shani the point is you don't know what the good part of the gameplay is. you misunderstand the game and only got through the tutorial but think you already know the depths of the game. you say there is no challenge and yet have not tried any challenging content even though it's in the game. so to say the game is not challenging and the gameplay is uninspired, dull or a waste of time while also saying "I know what I'm talking about" is ignorant. if you never said "I know what I'm talking about" I wouldn't even have replied because you don't.

Re: Review: Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition (Switch)

@shani how can you say 98% of the rest of the game is cake when you only played the story mode? Those “bonus” modes are the ones where players get 100+ hours of gameplay and where the game starts getting more demanding. When I finished fire emblem warriors I was lvl 35 maybe and not even close to maxing out a single character in their skills. It becomes more than button mashing on the harder difficulties. This is why you probably don’t like these games. You haven’t faced any difficulty yet because you think story mode is all there is to the game when everybody who enjoys these games knows that’s just a tutorial with cinematics and a story.

If you don't like the genre or think you may not, try to think of this game in a different light. I used to not like or care about it but one time I read that essentially warriors games are cleaning games, you clean areas by fighting and you don't have to kill/clean everything, you just have to do it enough to complete objectives so you can rush passed mobs. This made it way more enjoyable than thinking that it was a game where I had to kill everything and yet barely any enemy was a challenge but I also failed missions because I focused on killing enemies than finishing objectives. The game only starts when you complete story mode (aka tutorial).

Re: Feature: The Biggest Retail Games Hitting Nintendo Switch This Spring

@Thanosrexxx never said software drought. I said there's a drought of new experiences/games if you play/own other platforms. It has only 4 and one is mainly for kids (Labo) while another is rehashed, short and mediocre (Kirby). that's why I'm only excited for octopath traveler and am on the fence for Mario tennis, will depend on how good that campaign is. Other than that I haven't touched my switch since December. Actually playing my 3ds more. If I didn't have a PC or X1 or Wii U then id be super stoked but most gamers have played a lot of these games or already have a platform they can play it on.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Retail Games Hitting Nintendo Switch This Spring

@ThanosReXXX If Switch is your only console this is a great selection but if you have had a Wii U and either Xbox/Ps4/PC this gen then there are only 2 games on that list that are new: Octopath Traveler and Mario Tennis Aces. In that case it is definitely same as Wii U with the droughts. I am hoping this improves in coming years though snd end of 2018 is looking good with a Smash Bros and Fire Emblem.
