Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Has Been Updated To Version 3.0.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

@HalBailman forgive me if this hasn't already been suggested (there's literally 90 comments on this thread) but one way to get around the lack of difficulty might be to go through Vs mode instead. Then you can select the difficulty setting along with the cc you want and play a cup with a bit more challenge at original top speed.

As for online, I think it's very affordable and well worth the investment. I think you mentioned you have a few mates with Switches who don't have online, but if all of you went in together for a year-long family membership it'd be peanuts. I don't want to presume anyone's financial situation but I think we're talking less than a dollar/pound a month if there's three of you signed up. Then you'd have access to significantly more competitive races which might scratch that itch.

To be clear, I don't disagree with you that there is room for a higher difficulty level, but I think the default setting for 150cc is sensible. You also have to remember that some people will be playing this game for the first time and are still getting the hang of the game when they reach 150cc.

Re: Poll: What Was The First Pokémon Game You Played? Nintendo Wants To Know

When I was about 7-8, my sister and I would go over to play with the kids next door. The youngest had a GBA with a copy of Yellow she'd been gotten as a hand-me-down from one of her older brothers. She'd gotten stuck at the very beginning of the game because professor Oak tells the player not to leave Pallet Town, which she didn't. She gave it to me to have a go and I walked out into the tall grass, triggering the encounter with Pikachu. After that she said I could keep the game and the GBA; she'd just gotten a shiny new pink GBA SP. Thus started a lifelong Nintendo obsession. I owe that girl a lot.

Re: Review: Super Mario Odyssey (Switch)

I'm just not fussed about this game. I thought SM3DW was fine, but not challenging in a way that made me want to continue. I never thought I'd say this, but I feel like I've grown out of Mario...

I really really want the soundtrack for BotW but I couldn't give less of a f*** about the master sword figurine. I thought I'd look at the American special edition since it's cheaper and has the carrying case as well as the CD. However I can't find any retailers that have it in stock and I don't know many american shops that stock video games as it is. I've already looked at Best Buy, ToysRUs, Amazon, Target, Walmart and Gamestop. Anyone have any suggestions of where to look next?

Re: Minecraft on Wii U Won't Feature Inventory Management on the GamePad Screen

Microsoft is clearly trying to get this game out before Christmas. However it almost seems like they're trying to get Nintendo fans to hate them by putting out a half arsed port that makes no use of the Wii U's defining features. If it doesn't sell well it looks bad for 3rd parties who want to develop for Nintendo, so this gives companies an excuse for why they're not releasing their big multi-platfom IP's on Nintendo consoles.

I hope I'm being pessimistic but I definitely wouldn't put it past Microsoft.

That said, I'm one of the few people who has never played Minecraft so I'm relatively tempted to get this.

Re: Head Teachers in the UK Issue Warning to Parents on 18-Rated Games Being Played by Children

Parents need to take it upon themselves to learn about the games they are buying for their kids. Too many are too worried that "little Jonny will be upset if I don't get him GTA5". My parents allowed me to buy GoldenEye 007 because they knew what happens in it and they're fine with that. What makes me uncomfortable is that my 15 year old cousin is letting her aged 12 brother play GTA5 without batting an eyelid. For me, that's just wrong

@tudsworth I loved ONM from my first issue, it's just such a shame that there's nothing we can do about it apart from create one ourselves (which would be hugely costly).
I love Nintendo Life, but it just really isn't the same as having a physical printed magazine delivered to your door which you can keep and refer to at any time with ease ( as I have)
