Re: Review: Legna Tactica (3DS eShop)

Zodiak13

@Rogue76 I love the DQ series as well, but was trying to bring up slightly less known series. DQ 9 was indeed fantastic, but I prefer 8 slightly more, although you can't go wrong with either one. My favorite DQ is 4, which I got on launch day for the NES as Dragon Warrior IV. Yeah, that dates me...

Re: Review: Legna Tactica (3DS eShop)

Zodiak13

@Rogue76 Also, if you have a Vita, you should definitely try Dungeon Travelers 2. It is the only game on any PS system I have Platinum trophied, and I assure I was not going for it. Apparently 200+ hours of gaming leads to that...

Re: Review: Legna Tactica (3DS eShop)

Zodiak13

@Rogue76 Etrian Odyssey IV, and Persona Q. I am a huge RPG fan, of any kind. I also loved 7th Dragon III Code VFD, and of course FE: Awakening. SMT IV and Bravely Default/Second, are also amongst my favorites. Stella Glow is a spiritual successor to the Luminous Arc series on the DS.

Re: Review: Legna Tactica (3DS eShop)

Zodiak13

@Shogun474 Stella Glow is certainly not dull, and is in fact in my top 3 games for the 3ds in which I own and have played over100 games on. The combat is great, there is some interesting ways to level your characters through non battle means. I suggest giving it a try used, cause at GameStop you have 7 days to return it.

Re: Feature: Xenoblade Chronicles X - One Year Later

Zodiak13

My son and I have been playing this game for the last year and was at over 500+hours when my son decided to start over as every titan and blueprint had been found (I think). I have not even put 100 hours into a game in the last 5 years, which with my lack of free time means that this game actually sucked me in. Hope for a sequel on the Switch as well.

Re: Review: The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (Wii U eShop)

Zodiak13

This is on my way overrated list. Got this for free on PSN and immediately went to play this. The combat, story, and gore are all ho-hum. I kept playing for a few hours, trying to find this "amazing" game every was talking about, but it doesn't exist apparently. I would give it a 5/10.

Re: EarthBound Director Shigesato Itoi Pays Tribute to His Friend Satoru Iwata

Zodiak13

This is the reason I love this site. This is a great post and the commenters are on the right track. Also thank you to the people that have nothing good to say, for not saying anything at all. I mean that and not in a sarcastic way. I enjoy reading these comment with some jealousy, as I do not process emotions normally, at least I know how I should feel, which is quite sad.

Re: Obituary: Satoru Iwata

Zodiak13

A wonderful career and life, my condolences to his family and friends. He left with must achieved, and although much too young, he has a legacy of achievements is vast. RIP.

Re: Rare Replay on Xbox One Will Include 30 Games, Including Classics from Nintendo Systems

Zodiak13

Oddly enough, I was never a huge Rare fan, but I did like a few games. Goldeneye and Battletoads were cool. Console shooters after Goldeneye were never my thing (prefer PC controls) and never got into 3D platformers in the 64 days. DK were fun, but never was that amazed by them. I don't think it sucks they are not on Nintendo, because they chose to let rare go, and they own the rights. Seems to be a good value. I read some comments about $ on Nintendo charging to much, but its all about what people are willing to pay. I buy a ton of them, but I am a fanboy as it were. I work for a company that our products cost more, but are customers want what we offer and we get as much $ as we can, because, well, we can. That is business. Nintendo is generally more profitable than not, so they kind of know what they are doing.

Re: Hardware Classics: Sega Dreamcast

Zodiak13

How am I late to this comment section!!!! Best console ever, waaaaaay ahead of its time. Also home to the best RPG ever, although the GCN version was better. But I spent more time with the DC version. How sad I was when you were discontinued.

Re: The Man Behind Fluidity And Stealth Inc Discusses Leaving Curve Digital And Future Plans

Zodiak13

I like the fact he is leaving in a professional manner. As someone who runs his own shop, I always prefer when people leave that they leave in a professionally. Sounds like he enjoyed his time and is ready to move on, so best of luck, and if things don't work out, you may have a home to go back to. Nothing in gaming excites me, so I have no real thoughts on the game he was making.

Re: Chrono Trigger Turns 20, but is Ultimately Timeless

Zodiak13

I have tried this game on 3 occasions, and each time I was left wanting something NOT Chronotrigger. Can't say I see what everyone likes about this one. Oh well, I think Final Fantasy III (VI) just spoiled me on SNES RPG's, because nothing compares in my mind.

Re: Review: Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. (3DS)

Zodiak13

Think I will be getting this. I sure hope all these people who clamor for New IP from Nintendo actually buy this. I get so sick of hearing how everyone wants new IP's but sales never seem justify them doing so.

Re: Site News: A New Readership Survey Has Appeared

Zodiak13

Ughh, survey monkey reminds of my job, since I fill surveys out near daily at it. I almost stopped when I saw it was them, but NL is awesome so I muddled through. The survey reminded me I should play some games, especially since I selected 25+ game on both questions, and no video game system has been booted up to actually play a game since last August.

Re: Talking Point: New Nintendo 3DS, Operation Faceplate NA and the Bigger Picture

Zodiak13

After reading some of the most ridiculous comments ever, I have decided that I no longer want to be considered a Nintendo Fanboy. The entitlement on display is amazing, and for something so non profound. I hope to goodness you are that passionate about such things as politics, foreign relations, economic growth and stability and any other thing that actually matters. I guess I am just a guy that really likes Nintendo products and the quality software they produce. Faceplates are cool and I would totally dig them, but jeez, are the reactions justified?! I think not.

Re: Soapbox: Portable Gaming Forges a Special Relationship With the Player, and Nintendo is the Master in the Field

Zodiak13

I have owned every iteration of Nintendo handhelds, and enjoyed them all. Except the micro, that is. A 3DS has not been in my hand a single day since I got it, whether it be original or XL. I was even hospitalized and was woke up 1/2 an hour to go over the next surgery, and I insisted I clear my street pass as my light was green, before they put me back under. Boy, that sounds kinda weird. I probably need some help.

Re: RCMADIAX Scales Back Wii U Plans for 2015

Zodiak13

@RCMADIAX Too bad that the sales really are not there for you on the U. I will not be getting any games from you on another format since I am just waiting for Nintendo to get out of the console business so I can stop gaming altogether. No PS4 or XBone for me, if only Nintendo didn't make the best games ever keeping me hanging around this hobby. Good luck with your future, I like most of your games, I find myself playing during commercials all the time.

Re: Review: Battleminer (3DS eShop)

Zodiak13

@Pokefraker You are welcome to hate my opinion, it would never hurt my feelings. I know I hold an unpopular opinion and I set myself up for backlash if I decide to make it known. Glad to know there are few of us DC enthusiasts left.

Re: Review: Battleminer (3DS eShop)

Zodiak13

@Klobb I will agree on creativity, since that is why I enjoy video games, comics, novels, and music (everything but country). I have zero creativity in the art, music, and writing bones. I will disagree on taste as that is subjective, and I have a diverse library of games from Atari times to current gen systems (sans PS4/XBone). I will admit I despise FPS and Sandbox games (GTA/Saints Row type). I am glad you are able to tell me what I "lack" based on my opinion Minecraft. Appreciate it..

Re: Review: Battleminer (3DS eShop)

Zodiak13

Not surprised Minecraft is garbage and a shoddy clone is even more garbage. Glad that this style of game is banned in my house, I would not want this drivel to infect me or my son.

Re: Review: Chariot (Wii U eShop)

Zodiak13

I agree with the score. Single player is not fun and I hate playing games with other people. Who cares what the score says, if you read the review and you still want it get it. Plus reviews are opinion, which is not truly measurable, I made the mistake of getting this game without waiting for the review, and I regret it. Certainly worse games out their but I did not like the control and honestly I just had zero fun while playing. If other's do, great for them.

Re: Gunman Clive 2 Delayed for a Few Weeks More

Zodiak13

Right way to go in my opinion. Not a day one buy because I was not as into the game (gameplay preference only), but I will get it later to support the creator of the game. Maybe I will get into this one more than the first, who knows.

Re: Professional Super Smash Bros. Melee Player Talks Smash 4

Zodiak13

I have never played a single SSB game ever. Last fighting type game I played was Killer Instinct on N64. Love Nintendo and I usually buy games from them that I may never play, but I know I will never want to play Smash, so this I will skip. Only thing I can say about this game is that it seems to have a massive amount of content. Looks like everyone else will have a blast, so have fun.

Re: Soapbox: Sonic, It's Time to Talk

Zodiak13

I actually never liked the 2D Sonic games. I played the ones on the Dreamcast, and my son played one on 360 and those were enjoyable. Lost World seems like I would enjoy it. It is disappointing that Sonic fans seem to be forced to endure extreme varying degrees of quality in games. As a Nintendo/Mario fan, there have been no games that "I" played of the series that I thought wee bad. I hope the Sonic series finds its footing for the sake of Sonic fans and gamers alike.

Re: Feature: Five Reasons To Choose Wii U This Holiday Season

Zodiak13

PS4 and XBone games are waaaay worse than launch year WiiU yet the mindless masses still bought them in droves. If you like actual good games that are just fun to play, go Nintendo. You want to follow the herd and play FPS and sandbox crap like GTA Sony and MS got you covered. Thank goodness the only other college educated person in my shop also loves the WiiU/3DS, otherwise I would fire everyone talking about how they FF killed each other and whine about the quality of everyone's skills. 3 of these guys borrowed from there 401k to buy XBone's or PS4 just for COD. Wow, just wow.
