@Stargazer I've played a few endless runners and I find I like this one more than all of them. That does include bit.trip.runner2 as well. Certainly not dull to me, but I only started gaming in 1987, so I have very little experience with games and may not know what dull is.
This guy has helped ease my extreme loathing of Sony to general dislike to light hatred. Good for him. Not from just these comments, but from previous comments he has made.
Bases Loaded. Man I played the heck out of this as a kid. People say 2 was better but I never like it at all. Now I just need ken Griffey Jr. baseball...
@sinalefa How can anyone outgrow "fun"? I went away from Nintendo cause I though I was to cool/old for them. That was almost a whole year, but the joy of gaming left me playing just the 360 (Sony hater). Went back to the Big N and the joy came back.
I used to sound altruistic and act like my mods and hacks were all innocent. But I was kidding myself. DL games without paying is the same as walking into a store and stealing a copy of a game. I was a thief aka criminal, no different than the guy down the street selling crack. Mod's for online game is cheating the rest of the community no matter what you are doing with it. I used to think wall hacks and mods were no big deal, but I just ruined time in other peoples lives they can never get back. Glad I haven't been a time wasting thief in over a decade
I'm a sucker for this style of pick up and play game, Plus I think the person who makes these hangs around NL so you know, gotta help a member out, right? At least the ones that I don't dislike. Maybe that person will start dropping hints about the "big" title soon, unless they did and I missed it.
Bike Rider DX was a lot of fun so I will get the new one first. I will in all likelihood get Guacamellee and probably other stuff as reviews come out to gauge my interest.
@Pod The problem is, you only get to use system memory or space, which is extremely limited, you can move the games to SD card, but not playable from there.
I'll be getting it tomorrow. The price is still less than I tip my baristas every morning, and unlike most people I refuse to get a smart phone until I virtually have no choice. That is to say, when my wife makes me cause she wants one finally.
Sometimes thing happen that make me proud to be a member of the human species. Hope that this event can be used to help Patrick through whatever may come in the future. Sometimes good memories is wall we have, and trust me they are precious indeed. My prayers to him and his family, and the people who put this "game" together.
@andregurov I for one will spend more money always to buy something on a Nintendo platform because I want to support the company that has done nothing but make games I love for nearly 30 years. I do the same in many other aspects of doing business. Quality of product or in some business treatment, along with past track record earns my money regardless of cost. No, I am not rich but, I will cut out other thing I don't need or care about to help keep the things I care about in business, what little I can.
Lots of good stuff in my opinion. Wish a few more WiiU titles were for this year, but not really a big deal. I am so busy selling and building a new house my game time is extremely limited when you add 70 hour work weeks with it. Thankfully I do not require more than 3 hours of sleep, so I usually get in an hour before I crash. No need to buy new games for a bit with my exorbitant backlog.
Want it but the crashing I have read on comment boards here and elsewhere has me holding back til it gets fixed, or maybe not at all if they don't fix them.
Well at the very least this review has allowed for a demo try. Pleasant surprise buy for me maybe. Good review, and way to add that "don't take my word for it" part!!
People on the net are funny. Blank is better, she is only popular because of x. She is out there doing more than most people, and she was smart enough to see that people will like her music. I hate country/western music, yet I never see a reason to make a negative comment on an article that pertains to that kind of music.
Sounds like some zany fun, and I always like that. Not been in a gaming mood too much the last couple of moments, but I will get it when the itch to play comes back.
@bezerker99 You sir are a balla. I read those lines and said "yeah, my skills are the suck these days(years?), I'll pass". Glad to see some good inexpensive eshop titles come to the WiiU. I may actually get this to support these types of games, and heck, maybe see how much hair I can pull out trying to play it .
Based on the review itself your score seems fair. Although I sometimes wonder if expectations based on other games in a series cloud how we score things. If this game was Ted the Bullfrog Xtreme, one might say "It's no Mega Man X, but not a bad little platformer, I'll give it a 7." I always feel the text is what sways me on games that score 5-7 if its a genre I enjoy. I wont be trying this outing, but my skills have declined over the last decade as I have gone more RPG style. Mega Man titles usually have some good challenge, but I no longer care for the frustration they give me, since I game now to relax, not to get worked up.
@8BitSamurai I consider myself very much a Star Wars nut (or was). I have almost every book of the EU, almost every comic, tons of lego sets, and toys, games. Si I am not a casual fan. The prequels did not bother me. Ep.1 was kinda boring, 2 had a cheesy love story, but otherwise was fun, and I LOVE Ep.3. My old boss had never watched any of the Star Wars movies, and we watched them in order of episodes, and he liked ALL of it. Sometimes I think people are hyper critical of things, including me. BTW 8bit, I am not calling you out specific, many people made the same comment you did, your was just near the bottom of the comments .
I have been on the fence about Disney getting Star Wars. This clears it up. I have not supported Disney owned companies, which is a lot of stuff. I was going to stick with Star Wars because of my immense love of the universe. But since the universe I have come to love (EU) doesn't count, there is no need to support Disney. I will start boxing my book collection up and when Dark Horse ends their run on comics, I can be done there as well. Lots of money to be saved I suppose.
@Action51 Meh. I see lots of companies NOT supporting the WiiU in the least, and I don't blame them. I am the first to admit Nintendo Fanboyism, but Nintendo marketed the console terrible and chose a console strategy that just isn't going to work this generation. If somehow it does, great for them. The WiiU is my favorite home console atm, and as long as great 1st party games are made, that is all I care about. The Wii was a "success" and my least favorite console by Nintendo, and almost ever.
I get the Ubisoft angst. But at least they have tried to support the WiiU when other companies have outright ignored it, or have at this time. The business side of this industry sucks, but they are in business to make zee money. Oh, and Day1 for sure, super stoked.
@Windy @TG1 I had never read the scoring policy, but I believe the game should have got a 5 based on what I read. However the scoring system like all of them is flawed. What if I made a game called "Walking Down a Hallway" and all you do in the game is walk down a hallway. So, the game allows you to do the intended, which is walk down a hallway, and the graphics are ok and the music does not make you want to cut out your eardrums. Does that game deserve a 5?? Based the on the scoring policy maybe. Anyway, not a big deal to me. Just thought that was interesting.
30 fps 60 fps 15 fps, who cares. Never has something as trivial as 30 fps-60fps kept me from enjoying a game. Onto the game reviewed I have only ever liked the GCN version. But that could be the rose colored glasses I wear for the GCN, which I also wear for the Dreamcast.
I actually bought this game on feeling alone. Not normally my style of game, but I will say I have enjoyed the game so far. Only about 2 hours in, but I can tell that care was still put into the game even with this obviously being a budget title as it were. My son played as well and he had fun with it also. I agree on the restart thing @Sinalefa said. I also hope you folks can keep making games, because I think your on the right track.
I read the comments all the time on this site, and honestly the complaining seemed nominal compared to many other places comment sections on the internet. Not everyone complained either. Specific people did it weekly usually, and I actually kind of will miss it. Yes I really will.
@Sakura_Moonlight2421 Yeah, I got the Vita version too. Makes me feel better about owning it. Only the 3rd physical copy I own for the Vita. Plus lots of free PS+ games. 3DS well past 40 games now, so I don't feel to bad going Vita this time.
