@Tasuki That is how I felt about Ni No Kuni on PS3. Until that came out their was nothing I really wanted on that system. Journey is a unique experience. Glad I got it on a huge PS store sale because it was short. If they were to make games for the WiiU I would surely give them a try as well.
@k8sMum Yeah thanks for cleaning up earlier. Moderators are never thanked but often scorned. NL seems mostly fair (I have had comments removed and been in the doghouse early on). So thanks to the Mods on NL for doing the best you folks can to keep the comment section a place I enjoy reading and commenting. I may not agree with everyone here, but respect and restraint seem to be shown by most of the other commentors. I think we have a great communtity here.
I can't really disagree with the review, but I still have had a lot of fun with this game. It is priced a little high for what I recieved in return, but do not regret my purchase. I suggest that some people will get some enjoyment from this game, but wait for it to go on sale maybe. I play 1 stage every other day,and that seems just about right .
Glad I skipped to the comments 1st, got a chuckle or 2. Review actually has me considering getting it. On my 3DS not my Vita, on my 32GB sd card that cost me $7. But I'm sure the $1 you save on tax makes up for the rediculous price for Sony specific storage devices.
Proof you don't really have to know anything to be near the top of a major company. The top brass of my company know next to nothing about what my collueges and I do. Amazing.
@DanielWW Ahh, a fellow Sony hater. Was starting to think I was the only one on NL. That said, I do own on PS products but own 4 games only on PS3. Ni No Kuni, Demon Souls, and Uncharted 1&2 which came w/ the system. I will be getting a few Tales and Atelier games when I'm bored and have a few extra $$.
Always enjoy these games. Not nearly as much as my son does, but I think few do. I must say the 3DS is costing me lots of $$ this year. But I'll take it, cause you never know when a game draught may occur...
I think some restructuring of the yop management while keeping Iwata would be best. I don't think he should just no longer be a major part of the company, just also find someone that will have some real authority that will make changes that are needed. Keep someone who understands Nintendo's past and get someone to look toward the future with a fresh set of eyes.
All thiese comments make my head spin. I don't know Pokemon lingo at all. My 1st Pokexperience will be X & Y because my son really wants us to play together. You guyys make the game sound more complicated than it should, For the record, all cheaters/hackers are super lame. This policy will change nothing though.
Other than possibly Crystal warrtior my wallet will get a pleasant e-week off. If only Progect X Zone wasn't a day one buy for me, this could have been a inexpensive week for me . Also the D&D game not being on WiiU yet is rediculous. If I don't see it next week I guess I will pick it up on my 360, because I really want to play it.
I actually apologize for the tone of my earlier comment. I just can't stand people telling me what I would/should like. As an aside, I do buy games for the 360 and PS3, but only a few that I enjoy. Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is amazingly fun to me, in fact one of my favorite games in the last 2-3 years. Not on Nintendo IMO.
@dadajo Little late replying just noticed your reply. None of the above. It just purely was not fun to me. Can't explain anymore than that. Ghost and Goblins kicked my but yet I kept coming back. Difficulty was higher than some games, but still playable. It just never brought out any joy in the playing. Wish I had a better answer. I don't think the games are bad, which I never said, just that I can't get into them.
@Flux_you Negative. I own the PS3 and played my friends copy. Not interested and don't care. Felt the sameway about Bioshock Infinite and almost every other "amazing" realistic style games. You have and will never see me give games of this ilk praise, even if they are on Nintendo systems. I DON'T LIKE THEM. So please don't tell me what I would think, cause your wrong.
Oddly enough I have never got into Sonic games. Nothing particularly wrong with them but just never was my thing. But congrats on being an endearing franchise to many people across the world. Hope Sega makes many more enjoyable games for the folks that love him.
@GamerJunkie How sad that Steam has created this atmosphere. It feels like the Wal Mart of the gaming world. Undercut everyone else at the expense of the quality of the industry. These $1-2 games will eventually cause real games to all but dissapear. But everyone only cares about the now. How can I save a buck or two today. Sad
Just like everything else in life, my opinion on this varies. Some I like some I don't, but honestly that is not revolutionary thinking/opinion. I will say that a lot of this DLC from some companies is ridiculous and has made me very wary of purchasing DLC.
Man withh all the olf MM games coming to VC, it makes me dissapointed I can't seem to get into the series. And yes, I have tried many titles only the battle network games I enjoyed but that's not classic MM. Either way I hope they keep releasing more for you MM fans. Just cause I don't like doesn't mean you all can't enjoy them right .
I'm that 5% that says I'm not social. I am in real life, but I no longer really play online because I lost my wife and son due to my inability to control my online gaming. So solitude or playing local with my son/wife will have to do.
People getting all heated over something completely out of our control. As a Sony hater, I must say it looks very desirable to the masses. It is simple what is at fault. Quantity of games, poor advertising, unwillingness to attempt to appeal to the new "core" gamer, and the fact that Nintendo will always be considered for kids. You can argue my last point, but I am the only person where I work, (over 60+ people) who owns a WiiU and almost everyone is aghast that I prefer my kiddie system. Because in their minds real gamers play COD and GTA type stuff. Only reason they consider me a gamer is because I destroy them online in their stupid little games, which I rarely even touch. I said in some other article that Nintendo can make unique fun experiences and still appeal to the masses, but they choose not to.
I'm ok with it. The stuff that was free remains so, and new more interesting content will cost me some $$. Seems fair and should it get to NA I will purchase.
I am not worried either way for WiiU. If it really is a disaster, Nintendo will decide to make changes or get out of the console market. I wish Nintendo realized that they can support both the niche market/Nintendo Loyalists and popular gaming. I will be the 1st to admit I don't care about graphical power and ram stuff but lots of people do. You can still make fun unique games for everyone along with the more common popular game archtypes out there (GTA, FPS, and AC style games). But if they plug along and just make it a niche system I'm fine with that too. As long as they keep making great games.
@Aldebaran Huh, disagree wholeheartedly. A 9 or 10 means near perfection in gaming at it certainly is not. A very good game, yes. Much better than the previous 2 offerings, but your opinion compared to the general video gaming community is not accurate. Possibly for fans of this genre. Maybe people irritate me when they call out a review, like it's not an opinion. I disagree with them all the time, but it is JUST an opinion.
@digga Super Mario Galaxy is the same as New Super Mario Bros?? Mario Kart Double dash is the same as Mario Kart Wii?? Don't get me wrong I will be getting this game, but most action games feel the same to me. Although I do get kinda what your saying, it is dufferent than standard Nintendo platform fare.
I see comments about this game being just a remake in HD and how that is stupid/lazy or that you got all that on the GC version. Fact is many people did not own a GC that now have a WiiU. Some of us fans (me) are excited to replay an amazing game w/ a fresh coat of paint. Also keep in mind Nintendo largely does not put out shovelware, and they need time with their actual new games they create. They need games and ones that make $$, and this will sell well and maybe even move a few more consoles. Maybe it's not for you, and thats cool, but it makes business sense to me.
Ah man, looking forward to a non GBA Tingle Tuner (I think that was it's name). I too never quite finished the game but yet I had a great time playing it. Probably some new flashy toy took my attention for a time. Very stoked to get this day -1 (which means at the Fred Meyer where I live, they put the games out early very often).
@Captain_Balko It's ok man, just let it out. I am sad but only because I wanted to see a new IP announced from the Big N. I really think I want to start big conversations on mii verse about getting something really truly NEW. I know where I'm going right now.
He should have stayed home and played some actual fun games . Wait, I'm a bad sheep not following the rest of the herd again. I meant to say, "those games he was playing are gamechangers in the industry, that must be where he gets all his creativity flowing". Or it was the Tequila!
Ah Lego, once again you will empty my wallet. Some times it's play sets, sometimes it's games. But you always get my $$. Except this time things will be different, I will see you at the store and say "no thank y"... yeah right, just take my $ again...
All I can say is that I still like games today. I can barely get passed early levels of games I used to be able to beat. My skills have eroded since the 90's. I wasn't good enought to beat Contra with 3 lives (I got to the last level though) but I did easily w/ 30. Today, I can barely get past the second stage. Over the last 2 months I've used my backup 3ds to practice playing old school games that had some challenge, and also games on the Wii VC. Definately been making today's games even easier than they already were. In the end, if I need a challenge, the old games can still be played.
Well better late than never. Maybe Nintendo should rethink its business strategy down under. If your not all in, why just put your toes in the water. My sister's best friend is from NZ, and she owns a US 3ds and DL's e-shop when she visits and gets a crap ton of games. Says it way more cost effective. Thats a lot of work to enjoy some Nintendo.
I can't do the 3d thing, since it causes migraines and can lead to seizures as well for me. I always peek at what it looks like in 3d, but never leave it on. Guess I miss out on some aspects of what makes the 3ds great. That said I love the 3DS and all its great games up to this point.
Ready to rock some AC. Digital for me, wanna play anytime I feel. Since I almost never don't have my XL with me, I can play anytime. Ah yeah, gettin stoked to fish already.
