Re: Review: Disney Infinity Figurines

Zodiak13

I've made my views on Disney here before so I wont rehash, but I'm glad financially that I refuse to support Disney. Buying Skylanders for my son was mildly annoying due to the cost, but I enjoyed having a game we both played and collected together. That has weighned drastically enough that we both decided not to get swapforce, it was fun while it lasted. This "game" doesn't look fun at all, even putting my Disney hate aside. Hope it bombs.

Re: "No Plans" For Ambassador Program Following Wii U Price Cut

Zodiak13

Well, I am not bothered by this info. Bought the WiiU Day1 since all the Big N's consoles come out on my birthday (ahh yeah), and I would never change that. Love my WiiU hope the price cut gets some new folksm on board.

P.S. sending this from the Olympic Rainforest next to a huge campfire. Hope everybody gets out from time to time to enjoy nature, it can be breathtaking.

Re: Say Hello To The Nintendo 2DS - A 3DS without 3D

Zodiak13

Holy long thread Batman. Kinda weird, but I see why they are doing this, still unsure how well it will sell. I will buy one for its uniqueness alone. Curious about the up high controls though.I have never played a game in 3D at all (medical concerns) so that doesn't bother me.

Re: Developer Interview: Brian Provinciano on Retro City Rampage for 3DS, WiiWare Misundertandings and Wii U

Zodiak13

I enjoyed his interview. He pointed out issues he had w/ Nintendo w/o bashing them and showed a degree of tack some people just don't show these days. I too bought RCR on Wiiware, but only to support Vblank. I will actuall play the 3DS version, and I am looking forward to it. I appreciate what what he did for the fans, and am sorry that a bunch of idiots ruined the warm and fuzzies for him.

Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd August (North America)

Zodiak13

Ninja Gaiden II for me this week. I'm proud to say I actually beat the original for the first time in my life just a couple of weeks ago. I did not have the patience growing up to see it through. Anyone who likes a challenge should get 1 and 2.

Re: Developer Interview: Shin'en Multimedia Talks About Jett Rocket II, New Modes and Sticking with Nintendo

Zodiak13

I think it's important that we respect any developer for doing what they love and not just for the $$. Even if said developer loves Sony or MS, but they enjoy making games just for those companies, then good for them. I'm glad they really enjoy working with Nintendo, don't get me wrong, but I'm just glad to hear that people are doing something more for the love than just the $$. Hopefully great financial rewards also follow, because few of us are able or capable of doing what we really love.

Re: More Than 1500 Cheaters Took Part in Pokémon's 2013 Global Showdown

Zodiak13

I love reading the comments about a game I have never played. Everyone seems so passionate about this game. People can rationalize cheating any way they want, but in the end it's wrong and it means you are taking away from the enjoyment the non cheaters deserve. Cheaters are insignificant, worthless, insecure and overall lame people. I don't even play this game and it pisses me off.

Re: Atlus Knocks 10 Bucks Off Code of Princess, Soul Hackers and Etrian Odyssey IV in The North American 3DS eShop

Zodiak13

@GuardianKing EOIV is the only 3DS game I have logged 100+ hours on to date. I actually took vacation from my work the week it came out and I'm glad I did. Haven't put that many hours into a game since Kingdoms of Adumar. Wait, I know I have to have played 100+ hours of AC:NL since I play every day and night to do my in game "chores" as I call them. Still EOIV is a game for players with specific tastes. So I understand how some people may not dig it.

Re: Video: A Rundown of the Disney Infinity Wave 1 Toys

Zodiak13

Thank goodness that I am unwilling to purchase products created by the company that the evil Walt Disney created. People always give me crap on these forums, but Walt Disney was a terrible person and created Education for Death: The Making of the Nazi for germany. To support Disney is to support a company founded upon anti-semetic and fascist principles. I have even had to give up Star Wars(!) post Disney even though it is my favorite (or was) franchise ever.

Re: Review: Bike Rider DX (3DS eShop)

Zodiak13

I am going to add to my previous post that I am still playing this game and having an even better time then the 1st day. I usually get bored very easily with these small indie games, but not this one. It is now all 3 of my 3DS's only the second game I can claim that with. (Ninja Gaiden for VC is the other) I hope more people out there give this game a shot.

Re: Review: SteamWorld Dig (3DS eShop)

Zodiak13

I was going to probably DL this anyway, but this makes my decision even easier. Kind of want to finish as many things in Bike Rider DX, than I will get this game. I love having good quality indie games to support.

Re: Review: Bike Rider DX (3DS eShop)

Zodiak13

Been playing it for the last few hours, lots of quick fun. I like that it has regular levels/stages and the endless runner. Both are fun, and there are lots af achievments to be had. Glad I read the review, or I would have never DL the game.

Re: Dan Adelman: Nintendo's Got "A Whole Bunch More" Coming to the Wii U eShop this Holiday

Zodiak13

@Windy You and me game nearly the same. But I absolutely love my WiiU. Amazed at how much I loved Lego City and I will finally play Windwaker, since I thought I was too cool for the style when it came out. Love off screen play especially since it has a great range so I can use them in "other" rooms and not stop playing. Could definately have more games I concur, but you would probably love Earthbound on the VC.

Re: Soapbox: Mobile And Tablet Gaming Is Creating A Generation Of Talentless Players

Zodiak13

I haven't found a good mobile game yet. I agree that those games are easy. I have 2 guys in my shop who play Angry Birds religiously and are always going on about there high scores. 2nd try after figuring out what to do I beat their high score on whatever level I was playing. Beat their high scores on the next 3 I played to. Unimpressive since I consider myself mainly an RPG gamer these days and I don't play any games like Angry Birds. Good article.

Re: Soapbox: The 8-Bit Era Laid the Groundwork, but Modern Day Progress Shouldn't be Discounted

Zodiak13

All I can say is that it seems like new games never effect me in any meaningful way. Most new games just feel like they are forced through a meat grinder, with no joy put into their production. I really love the indie game movement because the joy of making games shines through. I don't think this is just an opinion, but more a fact, older games were just more fun. Even my son who is 9 years old seems to prefer the games from the 80's and 90's. If you ask him why he will just say they are just more fun too.
Current gen games have some merit, but overall they have a different feel. New games seem to be more of an undertaking, in fact most of my friends/co-workers tend to complain about the games they play more than anything. I personally stop playing games if they make me unhappy. But than again I don't just play games because IGN or Game informer say I should or to be sheep and be like everyone else. Games should just be for fun and if the new or retro games are just that than you should play them.

Re: Nintendo Download: 18th July (North America)

Zodiak13

@theblackdragon Yeah the 3DS does suck up a lot of my time, thankfully I get to play a lot at work. I try to just play consoles when I'm at home, except AC:NL often finds itself getting extra play time every night since I bought it. Stoked for X as well, but I do not have your patience.

Re: Nintendo Download: 18th July (North America)

Zodiak13

@theblackdragon Well sadly I spent my bonus $$ buying WiiU's for all my friends at the start of the year. Or else I would grab you one since it makes me sad when anyone doesn't own it . I am suprsied at just how much I enjoy it, especially when I wasn't really that excited for it in the first place. I though it would be like the Wii, which I hated.

Re: Nintendo Download: 18th July (North America)

Zodiak13

@ultraraichu Good for you. I have picked up a few titles just to suppurt unique gaming types. The guild games to be specific. I have found that Earthbound seems more enjoyable to me these last few years as opposed to when I was a kid. Hope you enjoy it more this time around.

Re: Rumour: Attack of the Friday Monsters Breaching North American Shores Next Week

Zodiak13

I only enjoyed Crimson Shroud from the Giuld_01 title but have enjoyed Bugs vs. Tanks and The Starship Damrey. Although the review score were lower on the 2nd set the games appealed more to me. I will pick up this title as well, regardless of reviews. Support new ideas and niche titles is good for gamiong in my opinion. Even if I don't get into all the genres I know there will be someone who does, and I would hate to see thee guys not attempt these non mainstream titles.

Re: 3DS eBook App Details Emerge in Japan

Zodiak13

I would use an e-reader on the 3ds. I don't own or want a tablet/smart phone since I loathe what it has turned many of the people I know into. REAL LIFE ZOMBIES. Although I do appeciate that my wife thinks much more highly of my gaming habits compared to smart device Zombies.

Re: Your View: The Issues of Collecting and Owning Download-Only Games

Zodiak13

Boy I must be either getting old or I just stopped worrying over rhis kind of thing. In the end they are just things and really nothing changes if they dissapear. I collect comics and a few months ago 24long boxes of mine were stolen from my shed. They took just what they could get to 1st. I was mad and upset, but I haven't even thought about it until today reading all these comments. I have both types of games, and no matter what something can/will happen to some of them at some point. Seems like a lot of worry over stuff that really isn't that important. Don't get me wrong I enjoy having all my stuff, and I have way to much of it, but worrying about things like this take away from my enjoyment of them.

Ask me a question like this 3 years ago and boy would my feelings be different. All I hope for is that great games keep being made and that Nintendo is still around to make some of them for me to play. Either format will do!

Re: Zelda-Inspired Ittle Dew Heading To The Wii U eShop This Year

Zodiak13

If the creators of this are calling this a homage than I'm OK with this. If they think they are being original than I'm not since they are either lying or very ignorant. Either way I am at the moment indifferent on wanted to play this at this time. I will see what is said when the game actually (if) comes out on the WiiU.
