Re: Resident Evil Requiem's Latest Trailer Teases Bustling City Environment

@Kingy good, then miss out. You’re the disconnected fan, not me.
If you’re judging the quality of a game by what they are NOT showing you in trailers… (see how ridiculous it sounds?) it’s on you, not on me. lol
As I said, you must be either new with RE or have not been paying enough attention the past 25 years with this franchise.

Nice reference though, I’ll give you that

Re: Resident Evil Requiem's Latest Trailer Teases Bustling City Environment

@Kingy it’s personal opinions when you see it individually, but it’s a fact when you see it as a group. The same goes for any political voting. A vote is a personal opinion, but you can’t deny that a winner in percentages becomes a fact. The fact is that people see them as good games and you’re just in a 14% minority.

And we are not talking about sales here. There could be lots of sales for bad games, because you gotta BUY the game to play and NOT LIKE the game, adding to the sales numbers. Doesn’t go the other way around though. So no, sales are not indicative of quality. You know what is? User scores.

So you must be telling me that critics and audience are wrong except you, right? LMAO.

I’d take that as an argument when there’s a clear difference between critics and audience… but not this time.

And lol, I was a fan of this franchise since the PS1 game. You can argue old vs new all you want…. It doesn’t invalidate the fact that these modern games are good and metrics prove it.
Not sales, just good old fashioned public and expert’s numbers….. except you.

If you’re gonna argue against scores…(from critics and users) then I don’t really know what to say because proof is in your face. You’re a minority.
This franchise has been consistent except for 6 because they lost sight of their formula, and that’s a franchise sin.
That’s the only one you can make a case with….
One out of… what…. 16-20 mainline games?
lol

And to further prove my point, you gotta see the Metacritic score for 6, which is waaaay lower than anything, so audiences and critics do score the games respectively to their quality.
If 6 had 80-90 scores you’d have a point of a disconnected audience vs numbers… but, I’m sorry to say this, you’re the disconnected fan. 🤷‍♂️

@Kingy
Metacritic:
Critics-Users
RE7: 86%-87%
RE7 DLC 1: 75%-72%
RE7 DLC 2: 71%-70%
RE8: 84%-84%
RE8 DLC: 73%-66%
RE2R: 91%-88%
RE3R: 79%-67%
RE4R: 93%-89%
RE4R DLC: 88%-89%

They all look like pretty solid numbers to me.
I think you’re just on the other side of the spectrum from the Resident Evil fanbase.

Even if you make the average of those numbers you get a pretty good 82%-79% (And if I take out the DLCs, the numbers just go higher, further proving my point, 86%-83%)

So, not even close to being on a bad trajectory. It’s an IP with consistent output throughout its 9 “modern” main games I listed. Other franchises dream about that quality output with that many games and keeping its formula intact

So, with numbers behind I’m talking facts, not personal opinions.

@Kingy then you wait until reviews come up and decide if you want it or not.
The rest of us who are already sold on it don’t want things spoiled in the trailers.
Trailers are for generating excitement, reviews to convince you.
RE has a fantastic trajectory as of late, if you think you’re only getting what they are showing you on the trailers, then you may be new to RE.

Re: Resident Evil Requiem's Latest Trailer Teases Bustling City Environment

Yoshi3

Also, Capcom already said that they wouldn’t be implementing open worlds or open big areas because they know that was against what RE’s formula is. They started implementing that at the beginning and saw that it wouldn’t work, so they rebooted the project. They know what their formula is and don’t cater to open world trends and fads.
And I applaud that … unlike devs with Metroid Prime 4 and Zelda.

Re: Resident Evil Requiem's Latest Trailer Teases Bustling City Environment

Yoshi3

@Kingy not if they gauge good reactions and fan interest from what they have already shown. You’re the only person I’ve seen on the internet that hasn’t already been sold on the game. Social media has enough excitement with this game and previews and hands on that they know they don’t have to show anything more. That’s how trailers work.

Re: "If Mario Starts To Show Up On PlayStation, That's The Apocalypse, Right?" - Ex-PlayStation Boss Thinks Console Exclusives Are Still Important

Yoshi3

No worthwhile exclusives means a no buy of a platform for me. Exclusives are the biggest lure. If I can play everything you have in other platforms, why should I buy yours?

That’s why the greatest combo has always been Nintendo + either PS or Xbox. Nintendo values their IP and that has always been their best strategy and the core of their philosophy. Software sells the console.

And that’s why Xbox has continuously lost every generation after the 360.

Having said that… where’s Sea of Thieves for Switch 2, Microsoft?

Re: Nintendo Suggests Metroid Prime 4's Tortured Development Meant It Was "Divorced From The Changing Of Times"

Yoshi3

@LikelySatan the thing is.. I don’t want Zelda on my Metroid… I want Metroid on my Metroid. If I wanted to play a Zelda structure I would play classic Zelda. It’s something you guys don’t understand. Zelda now isnt Zelda because it’s started to fill other necessities, like TotK with Minecraft and other sand boxes. If I wanted to play that I would play those games.

The same happens with this Metroid. If I wanted to play OoT or Zelda I would play that.
So everything is upside down now.
Zelda is something else and Metroid is now Zelda? Naaah F that!

Re: Horror Dev Bloober Team On Its New Exclusive: "This Is A Vision That Could Only Exist On Nintendo Hardware."

Yoshi3

Hey guys… unfortunately user @itsashame shared the teaser for the project and it looks nothing remotely to sadness (just that the teaser is live action too lol) squashing all hope.

But maybe it’s time to start asking the team on forums about what happened with the game like @Johnny_Arthur did and maybe that could spark some interest from Bloober team to recover that project. Idk

Re: Horror Dev Bloober Team On Its New Exclusive: "This Is A Vision That Could Only Exist On Nintendo Hardware."

Yoshi3

They should retake the project and actually make …. Remember that cancelled little Wii game called SADNESS?

Edit: Oh sht… and reading further into it… it was in development by NIBRIS… which was another Polish studio, and when it disintegrated its staff and projects went to … guess who….. Bloober team.

Now THAT would actually be amazing as that little undeveloped gem had everything going on for it as a concept: a gothic psychological horror game with a pre-World War 1 Russia setting and themes around narcolepsy, schizophrenia and nyctophobia sprinkled with Slavic mythology and monsters, all in black and white.

Sounds like RE, SH, Limbo, Eternal Darkness to me.

Re: Talking Point: Does It Bother You That Big Games Companies Are Using GenAI?

Yoshi3

@Isaix it’s not that they make them better … it’s that they make them quicker and cheaper… which in turn strips the game out of what it is supposed to be and just becomes another cog in the CONTENT machine. Just like TV has become. Give it a few years.

You’re not playing a handcrafted experience, they are just teaching you to just CONSUME and CONSUME quickly without care of what you’re playing. Because the next machine-made game is around the corner every week ad nauseum for eternity!

The industry actually has been at that point for a few years now, with a few exceptions popping now and then every month.

Now imagine, in a decade, when those exceptions disappear and everything is just AI made, with human creativity now gone.

Yey!! CONSUME!!

Re: Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Has Sold Over 6 Million Copies

Yoshi3

Great… now announce 13 collection for Switch 1&2 ….. and 15 and 16 for Switch 2 and we’ll have a complete collection.

Also I agree with most here, FF6 is the best in the whole series.

And… to the Square Enix gods… give us a Parasite Eve collection along a reboot.

Re: UK Charts: Metroid Prime 4 Falls From The Top Ten

Yoshi3

Ufff been playing it these days… the desert area is atrocious and way too big… and the bike just takes you out of the mood and gameplay. The elemental areas are just too linear… and the weapons feel quite uninspired. The creature log is too thin, the scans are too few. Boss designs are meh.
I miss the times when you were surprised by the new uses of the visors, beams and suits.
Definitely my least preferred prime game.
What a dissapointing way to end 8 years of waiting.

There’s just so much tampering with the working formula that it feels … weird and kind of awful. Just like TotK.

Hopefully it gets better in the latter half.

Architecture and music is flawless though.
It’s still a good and fun game… but not an excellent Metroid Prime game :/

Open empty worlds shouldn’t belong in a Metroid game at all tbh
