I'm playing this on the 3DS currently. It's a good game, but hard. If you like Metroidvania games, it's worth picking up.

Finally a must have title for the Switch.

Since this is just a fun silly rumor, let's hope Microsoft is buying EA simply to shut it down. Just for fun. Do they have much money to burn? I hope so. Let it burn! BURN EA TO THE GROUND!

Nintendo for the most part has had quality ideas for the last 2 years. This was not one of them.

@rjejr The name is awful, no doubt. The fact it took me 60 seconds of watching the video to realize, "yep, Cardboredo it is" means that they didn't test that name out at all.

But if people have fun with it, great. I just don't see how it will have lasting appeal.

@ThanosReXXX You need to meet a 2 or 3 year old. Give him your phone for, eh, 15 minutes. You'll be shocked how damaged it is and why its suddenly all in German and your password has been changed. There's is no such thing as destruction proof when put up vs a child.

@ThanosReXXX It's cardboard, even super cardboard is cardboard. I have children, things that are supposed to be sturdy are proven otherwise in children's hands.

I'm not an Apple guy either, but people didn't even blink to pay $1000 for an iphone X just so Apple now has their faces in their system and can do god knows what to their privacy and selling of them as products to the big corporations.

@rjejr 3 days, wasn't it announced Thursday? took me 3 hours or so after reading about it to realize it's overpriced cardboard and they will make a killing. I might not have posted it right away, but it didn't take long, in terms of profit, it's brilliant.

Wii Sports was why I bought a Wii - and then 70+ physical and 30+ digital games later on for that system. One of the best experiences for a gaming system.

I know Cardboredo is for kids, but I don't think kids are going to play with it very long because their attention to building things is down. Ask Lego, whose sales are down.

I give Labo 2 years b/c Nintendo doesn't give up on things, but that's it. Will do great this holiday, then trail off by next spring. Again, profit will be bigly b/c its cardboard, but lasting appeal? Nah, motion control will have a longer era in gaming history.

@ThanosReXXX AFter more reflection, I agree it's going to be a money maker cause Nintendo and Apple are probably the only two companies that can sell you $5 cardboard for $70.

It's still not a good idea in terms of 3 years from now we aren't going to look back fondly on this. It's going to be, "oh yeah, I played with that for 3-4 days and all my boxes broke and now its cluttering my closet." But people are right, the consumers will pay for their cardboard, and they will pay bigly.

I'll pass though. Eventually something will come to Switch that will make me buy it. Just still waiting and enjoying my 3DS for now.

@E_M_I STOP USING ABSOLUTES. So annoying when people group everyone together as "this or that." I've been a Nintendo gamer since the NES, I own around 700 games, 500+ are Nintendo system. This doesn't interest me. I'm not only one.

I will say this, Nintendo is smart. They are going to package $10 worth of coding with $5 worth of cardboard and sell it at $70 a pop. That's some amazing profit they are going to rake in, given, like you said, there are 3-5 million Nintendo core gamers that will literally buy any box as long as it has Nintendo logo on it.

I'm a huge fan, but when I see a stupid idea, I'll call them out on it.

@astralorange Exactly. After dwelling on it, Nintendo is going to make a killing on this. Repurpose some cardboard for $1, but their logo on it, with some code, and sell it for a massive profit at $70. It's brilliant because like you said, kids will destroy this and want more in no time.

Well, and of course, there will be a stock shortage, because they "didn't forsee such high demand." For cardboard. But the cereal is selling out, so why not this.

I'm just going to go ahead and rename this Nintendo Cardboredo... patent pending.

I have young children and this still has -100% interest for me.

Yeah, that's a big no from me, and so already your "every" statement is false. Cardboredo is pretty niche.... though it'll sell a couple milllion because this will prove once and for all if you put Nintendo on a box, the fans will buy it.

Clearly the 3DS. We are all going to get to meet Rusty in the digital world!

@dazzlerJJD I probably didn't elaborate enough. WiiWare games have come off the service because the contract ran up. If you own it, you can still play it, but you can't buy it after that date.

Just upgrade your phone. You don't have to get the latest model, so get a 1 or 2 year old one that will be compatible on the cheap

Lots of people complaining. Just find a friend who upgrades every 6months, ask for one of their old like iphone 6 or 7.

It's no different than discontinuing support for Wii or WiiU. It's going to happen eventually.

Be mad at Apple for releasing 5 new phones per year. Makes it hard on devs I'm sure to make things compatible with so many versions.

I've skipped the last couple of years. The yearly installments thing is sickening, it's become Ninendo's COD or Ass Creed.

I really hope we see some innovation in the next installment. Hoping that is going to be the reason I get a Switch.

Fun little poll, went Zelda on most, but my gosh this is a clear cut reminder that the worst 3D game in both series both happened on the Gamecube. Just weird coincidence I guess.

This is just going to go down as one of those examples where the sequel has no chance of living up to the greatness of the original.

@GC-161 Can't argue with that. I'm too good at finding games on clearance, and then PC Humble Bundles... I'd say about 33% of the unfinished games are PC, but there are some good Nintendo 1st and 3rd party games I need to get to.

I'm OK missing out/waiting on some Switch titles. It will be revised, better controls and better battery life is coming eventually.

@GC-161 I'm going to say again. Backlog = Very bad, I have tons of games to play.

I don't care if the revision isn't for 3 more years. I'll get it then, and I'll still have games in my collection that are unbeaten. It's about 700 games total, about 200 not finished. I'll survive.

I really enjoyed Miiverse, but 90 seconds of this was enough before I pulled the plug.

@GC-161 My backlog is pretty bad across many platforms. So far, the Switch only has Odyessey as a must have EXCLUSIVE. If I end up skipping this generation, I won't be that sad.

That being said, there will be a revision, Nintendo revises their handhelds, and that is what this system is being treated as.

One of the main reasons now I"m waiting to get a Switch is for them to revise the controllers and add a D-pad.

Just announce a quality baseball game (RBI does NOT count) and I'll probably break down and buy a Switch. Otherwise I can wait out a revision to add a d-pad to the joy cons.

Not shocking at all. If Nintendo bothered to make enough SNES Minis, and NES Minis, they would be their top selling consoles for a good year plus.

I need to go through the WiiWare shop and pick up some of the better offerings. Expected them to land on the WiiU eventually, but that didn't happen.

By the time I got off work Friday, nothing left. No shock, Nintendo and stock issues are a match made in H-E-double-hockey-sticks.

But I down both WiiU games, Acorn game is of no interest, and I"M not playing a pinball game on a small screen like the 3DS.

@LArachelDisciple No worries. Yeah, if you already bought them on VC there isn't much of a point.

I still have my NES and about 45 games, but the system doesn't boot up well. That's why I want a NES Mini. and I got a NES so late in its life (I was in 2nd grade and it was WAY cheaper than a SNES), that I never picked up a SNES. So I want the SNES Mini.

I am a collector, and I'd rather have an OG SNES probably, BUT I want things to work well.

@Heavyarms55 I don't. You can't tell me at Christmas time a mother wouldn't rather pay $60 or $80 for a system with 20-30 games than $350 for a system that doesn't come with any games packed in.

It would outsell the Switch over a holiday period, no doubt.

@LArachelDisciple You're kidding right? 30 NES games for $60, or 21 SNES games for $80.... vs $5 and $8 per game on the VC.

This is not rocket science, these are both great deals and its why people want them.

This is a heck of a rumor this "Nintendo of America" is putting out there on the internet, but until I see a SNES Mini on a store shelf this holiday season, I'm taking this as a big hoax.

He's admitting they are doing it on purpose. THis is no different than when your parent say, "Do do that!" You ask, "Why?" And they respond, "Because I said so." If they had to give details, they would have to admit it's their own doing.

People need to get over this whole, "I'm not buying any more 3DS games b/c of Switch."

If a game is good, buy it. Stop making excuses not to.
