If you expected anything more than lazy ports to Switch, you were delusional. Just be happy the system is getting ports for the time being. Could be very different come next April.

Still play 1-2 times a week with my now 4 year old son. He's so happy there are new Pokemon to catch. It's fun in spurts and gets him to go for a nice long walk, so it's double beneficial - exercise and learning Pokemon names.

How many good Indy+Kickstarter developed 3D games have turned out well? Not terribly shocked, but feel bad for those hoping for a Banjo Kazooie type game to be quality.

@Agent721 Might depend on how bad the sales are, or how far along the Switch version is. I'm sure it's more in doubt than it was before these came out.

Is the Christmas season in Japan as important as it is in the US? Seems like a weird thing to point out.

So weird its still trailing for the WiiU for now. But being ahead of the PS4 is a good thing, even though Sony doesn't have a strangehold on Japan like they do in the U.S.

Switch is already at its point in life where its only receiving stability updates... oh how we barely knew thee!

Amazed a game you can buy on the WiiU is causing this crazy amount of sales.

I've said it many times, every person who had a hand in the WiiU marketing campaign should have been fired.

@TrumpsHand My main reasons for holding back are very real:

1) Currently no great exclusive (I have a WiiU for Zelda)
2) 3rd parties haven't announced their big games for it yet.
3) Price is outrageous, especially when you consider all the controllers and extra that are pricey too.
4) Battery life could be better
5) Online play sounds pretty rough so far, no way to know if its just Bomberman or if that's the service you'll be paying for.
6) No Activity Log

I'm still having plenty of fun with my 3DS, and it has a ton of games I am interested in coming this year. I can wait to 2018 with ease.

I keep playing this each day. Only about 10-15 minutes, but its a nice FE fix.

Couldn't even give us a 3DS theme of Kid Icarus so I find something to use all these silver points on? Yeesh.

I'd buy that in a heartbeat. But 10 to 1 says I'll only have about 6 minutes to preorder it before its goine.

Attributing this big Switch hardware sales drop on stock limitations for now. Will be interesting when they are on shelves and if they stay there.

But PS4 is healthy in Japan, that's for sure.

About time. I don't think it deserves a 10. The weapon breaking system sounds like a huge annoyance, but I have no doubt I'll enjoy it a bunch once the game is full released at the end of the year.

I actually like the fact the Switch goes back to carts. It's one of its few nice features.

HOWEVER, spending an extra $10 just so you can lick a cartridge is hardly worth it.

Again makes me worry about big time 3rd party publishers porting games to the Switch. We shall see.

First step is for Nintendo to actually get more Switches on shelves, and hopefully at a faster rate than the NES Mini.

Most people seem to be having fun, which is good. Zelda should keep them busy for while.

Will be interesting when the Honeymoon period ends, but I think we got 2 weeks or so until then.

@BulbasaurusRex My feelings on Nintendos's Switch have been laid out pretty clearly on my posts. That THING release last week is an early access device that they are charging full price for. The finished product won't be out until sometime in the fall. It's going to include online, virtual console, 100% working joy cons, and no dead pixels. Though I'll probably wait until 2018 when they release a different version with a better battery.

@TrumpsHand My N64 has never been repaired, still works without problem.
My GCN has never been repaired, still works without problem.
GBA, same thing.
Heck my NES works and its only been repaired one time in 25 years.

HOWEVER, my Wii had to be replaced. My DS can't be closed anymore because of a wire issues cuts the screen out. Both of my 3DSs have been repaired. My WiiU is holding strong but has been played 1/10 the amount my Wii was.

Heck, I bought a complete R.O.B. (see my avatar) on ebay just to have it. Are YOU that big of a Nintendo fan? Doubt it.

Nintendo no longer cares about shipping out a product that works. You can ignore all the stories, but the fact is I've probably been a Nintendo fan longer than you - I have more than 500+ games on Nintendo systems and yet all I see here is a system that was rushed out to meet the fiscal year's bottom line.

@Ichiban Well yeah but Nintendo has in their mission statement that they hate cats and plan to kill them all.

As for the article topic, people are going to have to wait until April 1 before Nintendo decides to replace the joy cons. It will put a hurt on the bottom line and they'll want it in the next fiscal year.

Hasn't there been reports that Switch isn't really any more powerful than WiiU? Can't be that shocked.

When Nintendo releases their new system hopefully it will be up to par with the PS4. Hope the PS5 isn't out by then...

@yomanation It's not how it's always been. You had memory cards on N64 and Gamecube. Wii, WiiU and now Switch all went backwards. on NES you had passwords or the game saved it. Same with SNES.

It has changed over the years. Don't shrug off bad hardware design and use Alternative Facts like, "that's how it's always been."

I think Nintendo doesn't care about your save files but does want you to buy more Switches. So get on that people.

They just need to add more variety to the game. I'm down to playing it 1 time day. I just do 1 training for the shards, and the 3 arena quests. I don't care about grinding so I can beat the other difficulty modes. Game needs to add more elements.

@Pres_Shinra My feelings exactly. Waiting especially to see if the big publishers fully support it beyond just 1 token game. They are playing wait and see, so I'll do the same.

@Rman12 I agree with you on the Nintendo Land thing, but AGAIN, the Wii was $250 to start. It was released in November 2006, did not drop in price until November 2009, after they sold more than 50 million Wiis. That's all. $99 version didn't come until 2012.

@Rman12 The WiiU sold a ton of units at $250. And that was to the casuals. It didn't drop to $200 until year... 4? But the first half of what you said I totally agree with.

@Dizzard Nintendo is saying, "Look, we'll have a low level of quality control unless the good devs won't develop for the system. If that happens, we'll let whatever we can get on the system." It's PR speak much like, the puppet in the WH who successfully conned the majority of America with his speech Tuesday.

Sorry that's anywhere near what people said about Wii Sports. You were hooked. Because it was fun things to do, not milking cows, counting ice cubs, doing cowboy stare downs and whatever other stupid things it has you do.

Clearly they put about 500 people on the making of BOTW, and the 2 interns on this game.

Nice to see. Glad even an unfinished game can score perfect. When the game is completed this winter, I'll be happy to pick it up.

7 of the top 8 is Playstation. I know why, but its still sad to see.

I'm waiting a year to see if Switch catches on beyond the Nintendo core fan base. I have my doubts. We'll get a great indication in April's system sales. March will do well no matter what.

Ton of indy support, which is great. But doesn't make me want to buy a system yet.

I need SOME of these on Switch:
Monster Hunter (99% sure it's coming)
Final Fantasy main line games
Kingdom Hearts 3
A MLB simulation game
Resident Evil main line games
More support from the big companies (they all have announced 1-2 games, but you can tell they are mostly wait and see)

When you ship hardware before it's done, these kind of things happen. But Nintendo will just announce another vague, no detail DLC Pack for like MK tomorrow to get people to forgot about the face the left joy con isn't going to work all the time.

"New console hardware is often subject to teething troubles..." way to justify bad business practices Damien. They are pushing out $300+ hot garbage and you're trying to downplay it.

By the fall, when they get the online fully operational, Switch will finally/hopefully be a finished-looking product. No where near it right now w/o VC, full online, working controllers, and overpriced hardware.

@AcridSkull I saw one, at 12:45 in the morning. They couldn't afford the pre-midnight time slots I guess. I had been watching that channel for 3-4 hours.

Isn't Switch preorders much worse in UK vs other countries? So this makes sense, coming from this guy.

@bezerker99 The fact you waited this long to play Shovel Knight makes me question if you actually enjoy playing great video games. BOWT will be hard pressed to out perform it if you play it right after, so maybe play something bad inbetween.

Ghost Blade HD I assume is the screenshot we see. Always interested in vertical shooters, hopefully it reviews well.

It's a soft launch. System won't be fully ready until the fall. That's probably why online is free until then.

@Sonic200012 I'm not trolling. I hate paid DLC. I thought it was BS the first time someone introduced it, and I still think its BS now.

You can be the whale that keeps handing over money to these money-sucking companies, but not me. Loved how Nintendo stayed away from a lot of the BS for so long, but no apparently gamers have tons of income they can't wait to burn, so to survive they are joining the whale hunting program.

I'll continue to buy all games on sale and on clearance or on a Steam sale. You enjoy spending $70+ dollar for BOTW and I'll enjoy the game just as much when I get the whole thing for $20 in a year or two. I got the backlog to keep me busy.

@DoomTurtle MegaBlocks are just Legos repackaged and priced cheaper, much like most cereal brands.

@aaronsullivan When I buy something, I don't want to have to buy more elements to it later. I do like to complete games like you do, but when I start a game, I want all of it to be there and not hidden by a pay wall in the future.

All DLC says to me is, "wait 12-18 months, and the game will be $5-20 on Steam (obviously not for Zelda, but any PC game) complete with all DLC included." I don't need to play something Day 1. I won't buy BOTW now until they finish the damn game and it goes on sale.
