@rjejr My kids like Paw Patrol but never ask to play any of those games. I've brought them up right, they are both Pokemon and Mario fans. But Super Mario Run... nope. We still play Pokemon Go well over a year and my 4 year old still loves it dearly.

@Amsterdamsters @Ryu_Niiyama @adam9431 Guys, the space provided at the start for the PS4 and Xboner is far more than the Switch. You can complain you still needed to get an external HD - and I know you did - but you still got to start with a lot more space.

I can't stand the installs that's become standard. I miss the days of bringing home the game, popping it in, and playing it immediately. Sadly those days, outside of the 3DS, are long gone apparently.

@adam9431 Compared to the Switch, it's a ton of space. But it is really sad game devs are requiring the large installs. It's why I go PC for my non-Nintendo stuff. Not sure why more people don't do the same.

The Switch has to be getting a revision in a year or so, and hopefully included with it is more memory inside. Yes, this problem exists with PS4 and Xboner to a point, but they still provide you with a ton of space to start so if you are still a physical buyer, you aren't going to have to expand your HD for awhile.

But it's Nintendo being Nintendo, so Nintendo fans gonna say it's A-OK.

Appears like Nintendo for a brief moment realized they were selling something with the same quality and effort as the Zelda CDi titles, and they pulled it from the market.

Then they realized they are bound by contract to put it back on there.

The game no longer even entertains my 4 and 2 year old. They sometimes log in, get the free stuff, and then turn it off 2 min later. The PBS game app has more appeal to them because they games have more depth. Beyond sad but true.

@Yasaal LOL you are joking right? The game broke its own record for money spent in a day when the legendaries came out compared to the first day of the game. I see people playing the game constantly. I play it still every day. You must live in a rural area if you don't think people still aren't playing a ton.

I'll probably get the STeam version that's already out, but a very nice edition for Switch.

Not shocked, Square Enix isn't exactly pouring support on to the Switch right now. I'm sure they are waiting on a certain install base that's going to take awhile since Nintendo only manufactures about 5 Switches a day.

@FX102A I like your logic. First must have game on the Switch since its release, you wanna make sure you have enough units to meet demand.

@Wolfgabe Exactly what I said. Apple has money to spend, and Nintendo doesn't want to because it's not on their priority list. Making their customers happy is #87 on their to do list, right after making sure to release at least a game every 6 weeks to avoid droughts.

And on Aug. 22, they FEASTED. Nintendo loves not making enough supply to meet demand. They get hundreds of free articles about their hot item being sold out and how its popular. No need to spend money on marketing now.

This is 250% Nintendo's fault. You almost never hear Apple, Sony, MS or the other tech giants talk about "struggling to make enough of hot item to meet demand." But Nintendo? They do it on purpose, and have its loyal fan base convinced its not their fault.

Case in point. Switch parts are hard to come by because they share parts with Apple. But does Apple have part supply issues? NOPE.

I'm willing to wait for a revision to the Switch that includes a real controller with a d-pad.

DId they add a D-pad to the joy con? No, then might be worth waiting.

Looks pretty good, but I'll probably get it on Steam.

@JaxonH I get what your saying, but I kept my 3DS in my front pocket... so no case needed. I saw the case my buddy brought his Switch over, I do not want to lug that around.

And unfortunatley my first experience with it was only using a single joy con to play on the system in a split screen. Didn't resonate with me at all. Felt like I was holding something too small and cheap to enjoy.

I'm still gonna get one, but I want a revision, or at least a special edition. And I need a MH game on it, or Pokemon proper, or something more than what's currently on it. And I want to be able to just walk into a store and buy it. They gotta get this stock thing figured out.

@faint You can't put your Switch in your pocket, so you can't take it anywhere. Yes, its easier than a typical console, but it's not slip in and go. I'm really hoping next E3 they show us a remodel like the DSLite.

@JaxonH I plan to get a Switch... when they get more 3rd party support, and have more exclusives for it that I can't already play on my WiiU or 3DS.

I have a feeling I'll be picking it up sometime in 2018, whenever a must have game is finally out. Mario looks great but that's not a system seller for me.

@faint The Xtra large Xboner is coming this holiday. Gamers would be extremely dumb to buy the current model right now. Let's see how the sales compare when the faster, stronger, model is out.

@JJ286 I'm being sarcastic when I said 1,000. I guess I should have said 10 per month. But they don't make enough, and they do it on purpose because they want the free publicity so when they release a new batch every couple of weeks, all the video game websites do the free advertising for them. It has zero to do with part supply issues. If you believe it does, just get "Gullible" tattooed on your forehead.

@gatorboi352 I know you are going to be torn to shreds with this comment, but I totally agree with you. The Switch is literally just WiiU 2.0 and the only reason it looks like its a hot item is because Nintendo makes about 1,000 every month to distribute in the entire US.

3DS is still the king. Long live the king.

I'm still playing the game, 2nd best mobile offering besides Pokemon Go. Though I was hoping you'd guys type out the details, didn't want to watch the video, lol. I'll find it somewhere else I guess.

@westman98 Let me explain the law of supply and demand

1) If you can supply enough of your item to meet demand, you have enough materials. (i.e. PS4)
2) If you cannot supply enough of your item to demand, you do not have enough materials (i.e. NES Mini, Wii, amiibo, any limited edition 3DS they made which they could have made plenty more $$ buy making more, Switch, FE: Awakening, Zelda Warriors scarves, Metroid 2: Return to Samus LE version, etc etc ETC!)
3) If you have too much supply that more than meets demand, you made a WiiU.

So no, Nintendo did not have enough materials to meet the demand for the NES Mini.

@thesilverbrick I'm simply going to say I love your blind optimism. Nintendo needs to do whatever it takes - legal or illegal - to meet demand. Otherwise, as far as I'm concerned, they are making the system look more popular than it is by simply making 50 per week.

But I'm not buying a Switch until I can simply walk into a store and buy it, and well it needs more exclusives I can't already play on my WiiU and 3DS.

@thesilverbrick It would be great business for Apple to ruin Nintendo's CONSOLE business. Force them to go 3rd party. And all of the games would be on mobile and Apple gets a cut.

So tell me again why Apple wouldn't want to horde all those materials to make Switches, forcing Nintendo to commit more to Apple iOS?

I find it funny Nintendo lacks materials for Switches, NES Minis and amiibo, but yet they can produce these without worry... fishy fishy fishy.

If these were $99, I would buy one for a back up. But aren't they like $150? Outrageous for 3DS-less gaming.

I'm not preordering. Nintendo needs to learn how to stock things. This is super frustrating. Stop with this, "we don't have the parts," BS and just make the products people want.

As long as the ebay scalpers got to keep their preorders, so Nintendo can watch to see how much money they are losing out on.

@thesilverbrick I love your optimism. Nintendo is buying that ad space on mobile in the spots you describe, Apple is not giving it to them. That's why it's.

Apple can survive without Nintendo, where as Nintendo is still trying to reverse course on the last 5 years of floating financially.

@thesilverbrick But they are also available on Droid. And don't forget Apple got timed exclusivity on Mario Run, which wasn't exactly welcomed by fans with open arms. Apple probably feels burned they paid for the timed rights to a game with the worst pay structure of all the Ninty mobile game so far.

@Shaymin Yeah I'm well aware of the current excuse. And If I'm Apple I'm buy 100% of the supplies and telling Nintendo to go find a new friend to make their stuff, especially now that Nintendo is competing directly with them on mobile.

This is all Nintendo's fault for the bad stocking of its system.

I went to Best Buy this weekend, asked my buddy who works there how many they got in this week's system.

3. Yes 3. The store is in a city, big population, and it's a big chain store. And they got 3.

Nintendo needs to pony up and actually buy the supplies to make the Switches. Just ridiculous.

After two generations of having a system with 2 screens, I'll really be disappointed if we have to go backwards with the Switch as the only handheld. When I get a Switch - assuming they ever stock the darn thing and get more games out for it - it's going to be in the dock 90% of the time because it doesn't fit in my pocket. That is not a handheld in my mind.

3rd parties call it a handheld because its too weak to be a console. So it's nicer to say, "the strongest handheld ever" rather than "the 5th strongest console behind the OG XB1 and PS4 and weaker than their successors"

I enjoy Miiverse, still use it at least weekly, but I know most of my friends have stopped.

I dunno, it's going to be sad to see it go. I know Switch just uses the mainstream social media, but eh... this was a case I liked them being on their own and different.

I'm sorry but if your game needs more than 4 buttons, you are making it wrong. The extra buttons have been there for two decades now because of bad programming.

Was hoping for a bit more special stuff in game to celebrate, but my son will be happy to hunt down a special Pikachu if nothing else.

The raids have made for a new great element, and the gyms are no longer impossible to tackle. Best Nintendo game made in the last 5 years, hands down.

I'm still enjoying the heck out of my 3DS right now. Glad it has games coming out for it for another year at least.

But for right now the Switch's success appears to be smoke and mirrors. They need to find a way to make more to see if it is actually popular.

If they actually made the same number of Switches and SNES Minis this holiday, I wouldn't be shocked if its SNES Mini that sells more.

@JaxonH I have a gaming PC, thank goodness, but no PS4 or Xboner, with no plans to get either because the great big games (outside of FF XV) are on PC now. But right now the Switch has 0 exclusives on it to make me want to own it. And that's sad given its been on the market for 4 months. It looks like Odyessey will be the first, but beyond that, not a lot coming that is like, "you must own a system for this!" I have Splatoon 1, the sequel is adding stuff but will not feel as revolutionally as the first. Otherwise, as others have pointed out, Switch is port city so far.

@Nintendoh It's too hard to tell right now for sure. When Nintendo starts making more than 100 every month to sell to the public, we aren't going to know how popular the system is.

But this "we can't get the parts to make them" BS excuse isn't cutting it. They just don't want their product collecting dust on shelves.

@NinChocolate I agree, Nintendo is not making a great effort to get 3rd party content on the Switch to expand the library so it appeals to a larger audience. Great points.

@retro_player_22 The next 3, if not 4, COD games will be released before Metroid Prime 4.

The real question will be which comes out first: FF VII remake, KH3 or MP4. And if any will release before 2020.

Because they do.

Most people say the NES and SNES are the two most popular fan favorites for Nintendo. Why? Well guess what folks, they had great 3rd party support. Most of the great RPGs on the SNES, 3rd party. Great Classic Mega man? Yeah that's Capcom.
Good Castlevania? That's Konami.
Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, other fighters? Not Nintendo.

I'm feeling less confident in Nintendo's success with Swith. The fact Capcom isn't brining Monster Hunter World to it is very very scary. This could be a system with a shorter life span than WiiU.

@Meaty-cheeky I wish more Indies would use 16-bit graphics. I'd buy a lot, but I'd buy more of them in that style.

@HalBailman Fine. But when NintendoLife.com has to shut down as a website on July 1 because they didn't get enough clicks in June and it was ONLY because they forgot to do a poll to see how much a SNES Mini will go for on ebay, don't come crying to me!

But come on, you know these are going to be the #1 selling item on ebay for the 6 months after initial release, and an item only seen for about 60 seconds in 1 retail store per city once a month and only after a Nintendo fans sacrifice via a fire ritual at least 3 copies of the original Earthbound for the SNES to the almight god Iwata.

I'm really sad Nintendo Life isn't doing a poll asking what people think the going rate will be for these things on ebay.
