Re: The Game Awards GOTY Is The Last Of Us Part 2

XCWarrior

I wouldn't say Last of Us 2 was all that big. I remember it on Twitter for a couple of weeks, and then it went away.

Hades seems to have stayed in the spotlight longer. And the Ghost of Toshiba (SP?) as well.

I don't know. I didn't play any of them.

Re: Minecraft's Steve Revealed As Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Next DLC Fighter

XCWarrior

I'm not one for buying DLC, like, I only have 1 time I think ever, and that was because it came bundled in when I bought whatever game it was.

This dude is not enticing me to make an exception. First two characters in this set are not exactly exciting. I can't remember the last time I saw anyone talk about Arms on my Twitter feed, and got plenty of Switch love on there.

I'm sure this will make some happy, but it's a big head scratcher for me.

Re: Metacritic Implements 36-Hour Delay On User Reviews, To Ensure "Gamers Have Time To Play"

XCWarrior

@Apportal I love games that have tons of play time. Not sure why you think I don't? I'm just saying they are hard to review when people don't read reviews after say day 3 after a game's release. And honestly, they don't read the first days either. They just scroll to the bottom, look at the number, and MAYBE read a sentence or two. Maybe.

@Roam85 Dude, come on. If you don't know, you aren't old enough to get to know.

@Rika_Yoshitake But you said every game had to be seen to the end. Even the endless ones. Can't go back on that now. Or... maybe... learn not use absolutes.

Re: Metacritic Implements 36-Hour Delay On User Reviews, To Ensure "Gamers Have Time To Play"

XCWarrior

@Rika_Yoshitake There's so many reasons this might be hard for some:

1) The game is 100+ hours long, and the publishers send the review codes 2 days before. And gamers are impatient w***** who want reviews day 1.
2) The game is so bad, and so broken, you simply can't beat it.
3) It's stupid hard, and the developers forgot to have difficulty settings.
4) The game is beyond repetitive, and there is no clear indicator that's going to change.
5) It's a MMO, and has no end
6) It's a... whatever you call Fortnite, and it has no end
7) It's a puzzle game, and it has no end

I agree, MOST times, yes, get to the end. But can't happen all the times, especially when there is no end.

Re: Random: The Pokémon Company Re-Uploads Its Pokémon Unite Videos, And Fans Aren't Happy

@RPGamer I love Nintendo, but their DLC explosion and money driven fee to pay mobile games let you know they want the $. Heck it took how many lawsuits to acknowledge the joy con drift problem?

Of course Indy devs are in it for the fans, that's why their games mostly don't sell well. And I own tons of them!

Go ask Sega why they haven't made a sequel to Crazy Taxi, Vectorman, Jet set Radio, Panzer Dragon (new, not remake), Golden Axe, Shinobi.... it's cause they want to stay open and can't listen to fans even if they ask for this.

Wayforward is cool, another Indy dev, but again Indy devs are awesome... they also struggle to put food on the table (with some exceptions, but there are thousands of them and we only know of the 20-25 success stories).

Re: Random: The Pokémon Company Re-Uploads Its Pokémon Unite Videos, And Fans Aren't Happy

XCWarrior

@RPGamer You didn't name one. And even if you do, it's just those companies hide their main goal - profit - better than others.

Now don't get me wrong, the best way to make profit is to make fun games, but many companies are realizing gambling mechanics make even more money than fun ones do sadly.

I don't agree with how the companies think, I am just telling you, that is how they operate.

Re: Mini Review: Pokémon Smile - You've Gotta Brush 'Em All

XCWarrior

@ivory_soul Do your kids read? My oldest does, and he would read this. So it was a review worth writing. And it was short, probably didn't take the person long at all.

Let's face it, the games to review is going to start slowing as offices continue to work from home and progress is being slowed.

Re: Mini Review: Pokémon Smile - You've Gotta Brush 'Em All

XCWarrior

My kids love this thing and they are now begging to brush twice a day. I agree there is some head tracking issues but if you angle it with the wall and keep it still, it helps a lot.

8/10 and I'm sure this thing will get updates. Great job of making kids want to brush their teeth Nintendo!

Re: Nintendo To Cut Back On Mobile Games After Animal Crossing Success, Says Report

XCWarrior

Not shocked, but mostly because they put half hearted efforts into Super Mario Run, Mario Kart, Pocket Camp and Dr. Mario.

Not a big shock, the games they actually cared about - Fire Emblem and Dragalia Lost and smartly handed Pokemon Go over - al have done well.

Whatever makes them money is where they should go. And Pokemon Go alone will continue to give them some mobile profits for awhile.

Re: Nintendo Says It Will Continue To Increase The Appeal Of The Switch Online Service

XCWarrior

The online is not good. I got the free year with Twitch, then that expired last month. I decided to buy Tetris 99 physical to get the yearly subscription, but should hav elooked to see what you got for the "premium" version. It's next to nothing.

They need to fix the online, it's worse than WiiU. WiiU at least when you wanted to play with friends, it wasn't a struggle and laggy.

Re: UK News Outlet Calls Animal Crossing's Nature Day "A Farce", Says It "Teaches Kids Toxic Lessons"

XCWarrior

@Northwind I think people don't realize sometimes how much they focus on the negative.

I used to listen to podcasts a lot, now I barely do. One reason is that people would be talking about a game. They would talk about the cool aspects for about 1-2 minutes, then for 10 minutes talk about that 1 thing that annoys them. Then at the end, they go, "it's a must have." But I listened for 10 minutes how awful that one part of the game was, and I often think, "well, I'll get it on clearance maybe."

That's all. Not attacking you, or anybody else specifically. It's just an annoying people do with video games, movies, books, TV shows. They could love it, but man do they love to tell you the 1 thing they hate about it.
