256GB should be the minimum storage for any handheld gaming console on the market. The switch isn't a phone where you can rock 128GB and be confident you won't full it anytime soon. With the size of modern games skyrocketing, DLC and updates you're definitely gonna need that extra storage. Better to be safe than sorry. People also need to remember 8ts not just Nintendo IPs that will be on Switch 2. Not every third party developer will make their games under 10GB.
I can live with the Wii U eshop closing as long as the rare games get ported to the Switch, but the 3ds had quite a charm and unique games that will never see the light of day again. Wouldn't mind seeing the 3ds live alongside the Switch as a retro console. It is worth it to me. DSI, virtual console, handheld, 3d; Nintendo could've kept this device alive.
As long as Nintendo keeps the hybrid concept going they can't lose. I don't own a Switch, but the next version should follow in the same vein as Apple's iPhones. Meaning better specs and build quality. At least 12 GB of RAM, better wifi and Bluetooth, native chat, better joycons with the ability to substitute buttons and analog sticks. 1080p 60 fps in handheld and when attached to the dock that should act like a home console, 1080p to 4k 60fps. As well as the OLED screen
I still say the Switch could do with at least 12GB of RAM and at least 256GB Of on board storage and a new CPU/GPU so you can game at a stable 60fps in handheld and a chip in the dock that can upscale games from 1080p to 1444p. This should be enough to add to the Switch OLED. Don't need to change the form factor for the next Switch. This really is a device that can last for years with 2-4 yearly refreshes.
With all these bonehead decisions being made by Gamefreak and ILCA I guess I can kiss playing modern Pokemon games goodbye. If you want an example of competitive and somewhat casual Pokemon games you're better off playing Pokemmo. Exp share and TMs in that game are items you can use one time with the caveat that you can buy them as items over and over again and it doesn't ruin the experience.
Now they can just focus on the Switch and just make new and good games. Enough gimmicks I know it's Nintendo but folding cardboard ain't all that fun. Less gimmicky stuff and more proper games.
They could try and port the GameCube F-Zero game to Switch to garner interest. Not much of the fanbase knows F-Zero, just Captain Falcon cause of Smash. To majority it will be a new game. Could also take that base game and make an rpg element for it utilizing the F-Zero world, create, buy cars, really go in-depth with the cyberpunk aesthetics and use some F1 racing elements, who knows.
Or lets some of the younger generations take the franchise for a spin and develop some fresh ideas. I mean EA and 2k can churn out NBA2K and FIFA every year and its basically the same game with barely any new whistles or bells.
While there at it, someone make an Ever Oasis 2. You could have something there. Between Ever Oasis and the Bravely Series, these stand out from the 3DS era, compared to the rest.
Millions of people don't know about the F-Zero, Earthbound franchises, much less Metroid, Kid Icarus, Pilotwings, etc. Metroid at this point should be the Resident Evil/Call of Duty for Nintendo. StarFox could take some inspiration from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in terms of exploration whether on foot or vehicle.
Earthbound, I know nothing of, but you could take a sci-fi route with the franchise and work from there. F-Zero can still work, use some F1 racing aesthetics with a storyline, customizations, cups, pro seasons, sorta like a sports simulation thing. Excitebike should make return, tired of Mario Kart being the only racing game with quality.
Anybody see the final fantasy vii remake ever crisis chibi style graphics that's coming out on ios and Android. Yeah if it looked similar to that with the Link's Awakening polish it could amazing. They still have time though, if there interested in making it one of a kind.
Good with the graphics, 2d to semi 3d is Pokemon. The X and Y, Sword and Shield graphics kills the personality and charm Pokemon once had. They should have always kept it being a balance of gen 4 and 5 graphics and improved them. Also people need to stop complaining. This to me seems far better than gen 8. I just wish it was Platinum they remade instead.
At this point, they might as well port over the game from the DS systems. Or surprise us with an art style similar to the Zelda Link to the Past. I do prefer if it was iust Platinum they remake. The two game thing is just cash grab for me.
Man Pokemon and Gamefreak haven't been the same since Gen 4 and 5. Everything feels like a mobile game these days. I didn't expect going 3D and gimmicky would lead to this. They seriously need to get back to their roots or take a page from The Legend of Zelda Series and only release quality main line games and spin off games, like Mystery Dungeon.
Considering I live in the Caribbean but I got a European N3ds, how will this affect me? My eshop functions the same way as the European. I have all the features. But this is troublesome to say the least.
I remember the Japanese XYZ Pokemon series being much more mature than the previous series. Heck even the Pokemon short episodes based on the video games felt more realistic and akin to how we would expect things to play out in the Pokemon game world.
I mean look at Spider-Man ps4 how vibrant the colour scheme was, how cool his design and gameplay felt. You could tell how enthusiastic Insomniac was when creating the game. This feels inspired by the MCU, but like a bootleg version of it. If they wanted to be original they should have used the original Avengers Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Antman and Wasp plus Captain America.
My issue is the character models. there so bland and uninspiring. After 2 to 3 years, I would expect the graphics to look so much better. Captain America doesn't even feel or sound like he character. Widow looks like a man, Thor looks horrible overall. Might as well give him his helmet if you want to be original. Hulk/Banner is okay. Iron Man helmet needs work and the suit looks plastic instead of robotic.
Game looks cool to me. Wish they would have stuck with mega evolutions, rather than create more unnecessary gimmicks like dynamic and z-moves. Mega evolution concept needs more in-depth explanation and GameFreak has just thrown it to the side. Looks like gym layout and puzzles are gone, which is kinda sad. Kinda liked the puzzle aspect of gyms especially D/P/Or and B&W. I'm assuming you can still capture wild Pokemon the old fashion way? And please make it that Hop gives up a real challenge. Haven't experienced that since Firered/Leafgreen and B2/W2
I don't care how pretty this looks, it better blow me away. I still believe Pokemon should have ended after 4 gen. I mean the concept of space and time made sense, plus the God Pokemon Arceus. How can you top that. The new gens just don't make sense and the games aren't as fun as they used to be since Heartgold and Soulsilver.
Personally i haven't been through half of the 3DS catalogue so I still support the 3DS. I wouldn't mind if the 3DS took on the role of retro console gaming, like ports from N64, GBA,GC (large catalogue since ROMs are illegal) maybe some PS1 and if possible good Wii games
Well finally, nothing after gen 4 was memorable, not even the pokemon, although I must say B2 & W2 were quite good. I would really like another Pokemon game with the difficulty of Fire red & Leaf green, an actual rival, less handholding, a good story like Platinum or ORAS. Oh and please no more exp share as key item and getting exp by capturing Pokemon. Its boring when I'm progressing through the games and I'm 10 to 20lvls higher than everybody.
Vincent Kennedy McMahon is that you? But seriously this is good investment in case something recalls the Switch. I just hope they don't forget gaming on a hold, as their interest doesn't seem as strong as before
Played the heck out of this on PC, shame about the ending, can't wait to see what the Switch version looks like and what 4K visuals will do to the game.
