Re: First Impressions: 1-2-Switch is an Ideal Pack-In Game That's Missing Its Chance

Being a Nintendo fan coincides so much with being an Arsenal fan.

What would possess the management to not package the one title they've designed to showcase the strengths of the console's local co-op motion controls with the console, especially with the Switch's high price point in comparison to competitors (not even taking no bundled game into consideration).

Nintendo once again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

The console is overpriced, and that's not even taking into account a micro SD card, and it looks like another drought of legitimate 3rd party support. Wii U redux?

Why so much coverage given to Arms either, unless it's a free title bundled with the console? The gameplay looks about as deep as a puddle.

Why wouldn't they cover the Virtual Console and GameCube support, or announce what Retro is working on? What are the launch titles? Bizarre and foolish, but that's Nintendo.

I really want the Switch to be successful, but the presentation really was a blow to my hopes.

The line-up of games, particularly third-party support, will make or break the system, not the perception of whether it's a home or portable console.

If it launches with a new 3D Mario, Smash & Mario Kart remasters and Gamecube VC available then I think that should lead to high enough sales to make third-party support feasible.

I consider its utility to be a big plus, but perhaps most of all it being the first gaming device to offer true portable co-op gaming is its biggest strength. The ability to play a game like Mario Kart with my wife on the train home, for example, is huge.

I was never as interested in the Wii U as I am with the Switch (can anyone honestly disagree with that?), but I still bought one as a Nintendo fan. I sold my Wii U after Nintendo's calamitous support of it and told myself I'd never be duped by them again. I find myself extremely interested in the capabilities of the Switch, however.

There are far more games I'm interested in than are o the X1 or PS4. X1 has nothing but Sunset Overdrive (which looks awful) and the PS4 has Infamous: Second Son.

The only things out right now which would interest me are FIFA and The Evil Within. The only upcoming game not bound for Wii U which I'd love is Persona 5. Conversely, I bet others wish they'd be getting SMTxFE and Xenoblade.

I only have Hyrule Warriors, Wind Waker, Nintendo Land and MK8 and that's more than enough for me atm. It's difficult to find time to play them all! There's at least ten games on top of that I'd love to have too.
